Omaha Hi este o variantă de hold’em care devine foarte populară, în principal datorită numeroaselor posibilităţi a combinaţiilor de mâini. În Omaha Hi, fiecare jucător începe cu patru cărţi hole în loc de două.Fie că este vorba despre joc on-line sau într-o sală de jocuri comercială (b&m), Omaha Hi se joacă la fel. La fel ca în ca-zul majorităţii formelor de poker, Oma-ha Hi utilizează un set de cărţi standard format din 52 de cărţi. Omaha Hi este, de obicei, jucat de 9 sau 10 jucători on-line.

First RoundWhen the blinds are in place, the dealer distributes four cards one at a time face down to each player, starting with the little blind. These four starting cards are called hole cards. Your hole cards appear face up on screen, but don’t worry; only you can see your hole cards. Only the backs of every other player’s hole cards appear on screen. Every other player has a similar view, with only his own hole cards visible.

Each player starts with four hole cards instead of two (In fact, some b&ms offer variants with five or even six hole cards, but you won’t find those variants online.) Then the dealer places five cards face-up in the center of the table. These community cards are part of each player’s hand, so each player has access to nine cards. Another dif-ference between Omaha Hi and hold’em is that each player forms a five-card hand by using only two (no more, no less, but they can be any two) of his hole cards together with only three (no more, no less, but they can be any three) of the five community cards. Many more winning combinations are possible than in hold’em. Hold’em has just one two-card starting combina-tion; Omaha Hi has six.Even if you haven’t had experience with Omaha Hi,you don’t have to worry which are the best cards; the software automatically chooses the best five for you when it comes time to compare hands.For example, if your hole cards in-clude three aces and there is one ace on the board, your best hand does not have four aces. If a pair also was on the board, your best hand would be a full house, aces full. If your fourth card was a king and the board was A Q J 10 9 of three dif-ferent suits, your best hand would be an ace-high straight, the nuts for this particular flop. In Omaha Hi,each player starts with four hole cards instead of two.Whether online or in a brick-and mortar cardroom (b&m), Omaha Hi plays the same. As in most forms of poker, Omaha Hi uses a standard 52-card deck. Omaha Hi is usually played 9- or 10-handed online.

BlindsEach hand of Omaha Hi starts with two blinds. Blinds are preliminary bets made by two players before cards are dealt for the purpose of stimulating action. If there was nothing to win, the first player to make a decision would have no rea-son to make a bet. The deal position is indicated by a white disk, labeled D, called the dealer button, or, sim-ply, the button. This is the position from which the dealer would dis-tribute cards if the dealer were one of the players. Prior to cards being distributed, the player to the left of the button puts in chips equal to (usually) half the size of the mini-mum bet for the game. The player to that player’s left puts in chips equal to the minimum bet for the game.

Sitting DownWhen you first sit down at a table, you must wait for the big blind to ar-rive at your position. This happens naturally, because the button moves one position to the left (clockwise) after each

and no longer appear on the screen, you are out until the next hand, and you have no further interest in the pot. If you fold, the next player has the same choices. If everyone folds, including the small blind, the pot goes to the big blind, and the next hand is dealt.If you or anyone else opens, each suc-ceeding player has three choices:• fold• call,thatis,matchthepre-ceding bet• raise, that is, increase thepreceding betEach player in turn has the same three choices. If there has been a raise, each player who chooses to continue must either call the total bet thus far or himself raise. In any one round of betting, there can be a maximum of one bet plus three rais-es. When the betting (also called ac-tion) gets to the blinds, they have the same choices. However, they already have chips in the pot, and those chips count towards their bet. For example, if, in a $2/$4 limit game, you had opened for $2, and two play-ers had raised, the total bet would

be $6. When it was the turn of the small blind, that player could fold. The player could call, by putting $5 into the pot. (He already has $1 in.) Or that player could raise, by put-ting $7 into the pot. This would cap the betting for that round, that is, cause it to reach the maximum. (Pot limit and no limit games have no cap on the number of bets that can be made.)

Similarly, the big blind, who already has $2 invested in the pot, gets in for $2 less. If there have been no raises when the bets gets to the big blind, that player has what is called the op-tion. He can opt to raise, in which case each active player in turn is of-fered a choice of calling the raise or reraising-or folding. The big blind can also choose not to raise, which stops the betting for that round. The big blind in this option situation is known in poker parlance as a live blind.

ti dorit vreodata sa jucati Craps? Mai mult probabil, veti descoperi un joc intimi-dant sau prea complicat pen-

tru a va obosi sa-l invatati. Adevarul este ca nu este simplu sa invatati Craps, cel mai en-tuziasmant joc dintr-un cazino - de cei care si-au invins temerile si au invatat regulile.

Acest articol va invata bazele jocului de Craps, incluzand regula de Shooter, de Pass si de Rolled. Aceste reguli fundamentale de Craps vor oferi jucatorilor o baza excelenta pentru a invata jocul de craps.

Prima etapa o constituie intelegerea con-ceptului de Shooter, de ce se cheama Shoot-er, si cand zilele de Shooter sunt terminate. Aceasta este cunoscuta ca regula de Shooter. Jucatorii joaca pe rand la rolul de ‘Shooter’ - persoana care arunca zarurile- in sens orar. Acelasi joc de Shooter continua prin arun-carea zarurilor pana cand se ajunge la Craps Out, prin aruncarea unui 2, 3 sau 12.

Intr-un cazino terestru, fata de cazino-urile online, regulile de Shooter presupun ca trebuie sa utilizati o singura mana pen-tru a arunca zarurile si acestea se lovesc de peretele opus al mesei de Craps inainte de a se opri.

In continuare, vom aborda regulile Rolled de Craps. Aceasta defineste actiunile care trebuie luate in functie de aruncarea zaru-lui. Prima aruncare de Shooter este numita Aruncarea de Come Out. Aruncarea de Come Out stabileste ‘Punctul’. Daca prima ar-uncare este de 7, 11 sau Craps (2, 3 sau 12), ‘Punctul’ este suma zarurilor in aruncarea de Come Out. In cazul unei aruncari de 7 sau 11, Shooter-ul arunca un nou joc de Come Out, pentru a reincepe. In cazul unui joc de Craps, zarurile trec la umatorul Shooter si jocul re-incepe.

Cand un Punct este stabilit, Shooter-ul va continua sa arunce zarurile pana cand Punctul este atins din nou. De exemplu, o ar-uncare de 4+6 este un 10, si se obtine Punctul 10. Rolul shooter-ului este de a arunca un alt 10 sau 7 fara sa se obtina Craps (2, 3 sau 12). Daca Shooter-ul realizeaza Punctul sau sau un 7, i se readuce zarul pentru a reincepe o truncare de Come Out. Daca Shooter-ul ar-unca un Craps (2, 3 sau 12), zarurile trec la jucatorul direct pe stanga - noul Shooter.

Acum va explicam regula de Pass, cel mai

simplu pariu din Craps, pe care jucatorii il plaseaza inaintea aruncarii de Come Out. In functie de regula de Pass Rule, o linie de Pass este un pariu pe Shooter, parierea de a obtine aruncarea unui 7 sau a unui 11 pe aruncarea de Come Out sau stabilirea unui Punct si aruncarea lui (sau 7) inainte de aruncarea Craps (2, 3 sau 12).

This article will teach the fun-damentals of Craps, including the Shooter Rule, Pass Rule and Rolled Rule. These fundamental Craps rules will give new players a great start in learning how to play craps.

first step is to under-stand who the Shoot-

er is, why he is the Shooter, and when his Shooting days are over. This is referred to as the Shooter Rule. Players take turns being the ‘Shooter’ - the person who rolls the dice - in clockwise fashion. The same Shooter continues roll-ing the dice until he ‘Craps Out’ by rolling a 2, 3 or 12.

In a land-based casino, as opposed to online casinos, the Shooter Rules state you must only use one hand to roll the dice, and they must bounce off the opposite wall of the Craps Table before coming to a stop.

Moving on, we’ll discuss what is known as the Craps ‘Rolled Rule’. This defines what action is taken depending on the roll of the dice. A Shooter’s first roll is called the ‘Come Out Roll’. The Come Out Roll establishes the ‘Point’. Unless the first roll is a 7, 11 or Craps (2, 3 or 12), the Point is the sum of the dice on the Come Out Roll. If a 7 or 11 is rolled, the Shooter rolls a new Come Out Roll, essentially starting over. If Craps is rolled, the dice are passed to the next Shooter and play begins anew.

Once a Point has been established, the Shooter will continue rolling the dice until the Point hits again. For example, a roll of 4+6 is a 10, making the Point 10. The shoot-ers job is to roll another 10 or 7 without rolling Craps (2, 3 or 12). If the Shooter makes his Point or a 7, he is returned the dice to begin a new Come Out Roll. If the Shooter rolls Craps (2, 3 or 12), the dice are handed to the player directly on his left - the new Shooter.

Pass Rule works in re-verse for a Don’t Pass

bet, where the player is betting against the Shooter. Again, this bet can only be made on the Come Out Roll. The Pass Rule states that a Don’t Pass bet wins if the Come Out Roll is a 2, 3 or 12. If a 7 or 11 is rolled, the Don’t Pass bet loses. If a Point is established, the Don’t Pass bet becomes a standing wa-ger that the Point will NOT come again before a 7 or Craps (2, 3, or 12) is rolled.

A couple of weeks ago, the first casino ever in Singapore was opened by the Genting Group. Now, Las Vegas Sands has announced the date when the other authorized casino will open its doors to customers.

Sands issued a statement on Wednesday an-nouncing that the first stage of Marina Bay Sands will be open on April 27th. That date makes the project ahead of schedule after a long delay caused by the economic reces-sion.

Late in 2009, LVS held an initial public offering in Asia. The company’s Asian arm raised enough cash in that offering to re-start the Singapore casino project that had previously stalled. Originally, Marina Bay was ex-pected to be the first casino opened in Singapore, but the delay helped Resorts World Sentosa to grab that title.

Much like many US gaming companies are ex-ploring options internationally, the Genting Group is con-templating a move to the US. No concrete plans have been made, but during the opening of Resorts World, Genting officials alluded to the fact that they had discussed the US as a possible destination.

The first phase of the Marina Bay project will include the casino, a 963 room hotel, a convention center, dining op-tions, and part of a shopping mall. The next phase will be opened in the future, but phase one should be more than enough to disrupt the operations of Resorts World Sentosa.

Analysts believe that Marina Bay will fare better that Resorts World. The Genting Group, however, is still planning on opening a Universal theme park to help Re-sorts World compete.

Diamantele au fost o sursă de faşcinaţie de secole. Sunt cele mai grele şi strălucitoare pietre preţioase. Cuvântul “diamant” vine din cuvântul grecesc Adamas, însemnând “de neînvins”.Diamantul este o bijuterie obţinută din carbon, unul dintre elementele terestre cele mai comune. Formarea diamante-lor a început foarte devreme în istoria Pământului, prin condensarea materiei solide într-o sferă cauzată de temperaturi şi presiuni extreme. Condiţiile creeate de depozitele de car-bon au dus la cristalizarea lor în adân-cul pământului. În timp ce suprafaţa pământului sa răcit, activitatea vulcanică forţată de fluxurile de magnă (rocă lichidă) au scos la suprafaţă aceste cris-tale de diamante. Mai târziu, diamantele purtătoare de rocă călită, au fost trans-formate în filoni de transport de diaman-te numite “conducte”.

Dar nu toate diamantele sunt găsite în ca-

zul primei ieşiri la suprafaţă. Eroziunile ulterioare ale straturilor terestre au dus peste milioane de ani la spălarea unora dintre diamante şi devărsarea acestora în râuri şi uneori cât mai departe de mare. Este foarte probabil că ele au fost desco-perite în alte domenii, departe de locaţia lor originală.Structura atomică a unui diamant îi dă proprietatea de a fi cea mai grea substanţa cunoscuta de om, naturală sau sintetică. Diamantul este de mii de ori mai greu decât corindonul, substanţa din care ru-binele şi safirele sunt formate. Chiar şi după mulţi ani de uzură constantă, diam-antele îsi vor păstra marginile lor ascuţite şi colţurile pe când cele mai multe pietre vor fii uzate.Cu toate acestea, mulţi oameni se aşteaptă ca un diamant să fie indestructibil. Acest lucru nu este adevărat. Structura unui diamant de cristal are la bază o structură dură şi una moale. O lovitură de forţă suficienta, într-o direcţie foarte exactă, poate crapa, ciobi, diviza sau chiar dis-truge un diamant.


Diamonds have been a source of fascination for cen-turies. � ey are the hardest, the most imperishable, and the brilliant of all pre-cious stones. � e word “diamond” comes from the Greek word adamas, meaning “unconquerable”.A diamond is a transparent gem made of carbon, one of the earth’s most common elements. � e formation of diamonds be-gan very early in the earth’s history, when the condensation of solid matter into a sphere caused the centre of the planet to become subjected to incredible extremes of temperatures and pressure.It was these conditions that caused de-posits of carbon to begin to crystallise deep in the earth. As the earth’s surface cooled, volcanic activity forced streams of magna (liquid rock) to the surface, car-rying with it the diamond crystals. Later, the diamond-bearing rock hardened, en-casing the diamonds in vertical volcanic “pipes”.But not all diamonds are found where

they fi rst came to the surface. Subsequent erosion of the topsoils over millions of years washed some of the diamonds into streams and rivers, and sometimes as far away as the sea. It is highly probable that they were fi rst discovered in areas such as these, far away from their original loca-tion.� e atomic structure of a diamond gives it the property of being the hardest sub-stance known to man, natural or syn-thetic. � e diamond is thousands of times harder than corundum, the next hardest substance from which rubies and sap-phires are formed. Even after many years of constant wear, diamonds will preserve their sharp edges and corners when most other stones will have become worn and chipped. However, many people expect a diamond to be unbreakable. � is is not true. A diamond’s crystal structure has “hard” and “soft” directions. A blow of suffi cient force, in a very exact direction, can crack, chip, split or even shatter a diamond.
