Fare Displays

Fare Data Galileo Fares is reliant upon airlines providing accurate and up-to-date information on their fares. Currently Galileo Fares receives fares data from a total of five suppliers which are listed below, each airline is consulted to determine which is the most accurate and comprehensive supplier for their fares.

Fares from the distribution companies are updated in Galileo Fares on the following schedule:

Air Tariff Publishing Co. (ATPCO) Six times daily (3 times for International fares and 3 times for North American fares)

SITA Daily - Mon. thru Fri.

ABC International. Daily - Mon. thru Fri.

Panrotas (South America) Monthly or as needed

Additional international fare information is provided by the Official Airline Guide (OAG), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Government and industry publications, and direct from airlines.

Data is received in a variety of ways. Fares, add-ons and footnotes are transmitted to Galileo Fares electronically from all data suppliers. Routings and rules are received electronically or via paper advice, depending on the data supplier. Other data, such as tax information and IATA Rates of Exchange, are received by fax or telex.

Updates to the Galileo Fares database are set to coincide with the start of the business day in each of the three IATA areas of the world. For example, when an agent opens for business in Australia they should expect, and do get, the most current fare information especially for their area of the world.

Fare Display Order The standard Galileo default setting will display fares in a lowest to highest order. That is, cheapest fares will be first on the list and more expensive fares, such as first class, at the bottom of the list.

You have the options to either reverse an individual fare display order by using a Qualifier, or change the default setting of your terminal.

Fare Order Qualifier

/X This qualifier is used in conjunction with normal fare entries to reverse the fare display order. The qualifier can be used in the following ways:

FDAUHHKG/X Qualifier for a reverse fare display order added to the initial command.

FD/X Follow-Up entry to reverse the order after a normal fare display command.

Changing the Default

The default of your individual terminal can be changed so that the required order will be shown every time you input a standard fare display command. Any default change will remain active until you next sign-off after which the default will be reset to Low/High.

FD*HIGHLOW Converts default to “High to Low” display.

FD*LOWHIGH Converts default to “Low to High” display.

18 / Galileo Fares

Short/Long Fare Displays Galileo Fares are shown in either a “Long” or “Short” format. Unless you instruct otherwise, your terminal will respond with a “Short Fare Display”. This is indicated in the top right hand corner of the fare screen.

Short Fare Display

A “Short Fare Display” eliminates certain fares for 2 reasons;

• Advance purchase regulations Fares with insufficient advance purchase lead-in time are not shown. However, a 7 days margin is allowed.

• Season of travel Fares with an outbound period of application of more than 7 days either side of travel are suppressed.

In the North American fare display “Short” mode suppresses all fares with a last travel date before the travel date specified, there is no 7 day margin.

Long Fare Display

The alternative “Long Fare Display” will display all fares irrespective of Advance Purchase lead-in times, or seasons.

This is particularly helpful for “shopper” enquiries, that is when the client simply wants to know when the cheapest season is, or if they want a range of fares because they are undecided on their travel dates.

You have the options to either change an individual fare display using a modifier, or change the default setting on your terminal.

Short/Long Fare Qualifier /L Long Fare Display /S Short Fare Display The /L qualifier is used in conjunction with normal fare entries to provide a "Long" fare display. The modifier can be used in the following ways:

FDBAHLON/L “Long” display qualifier added to an initial FD entry.

FD/L Follow-Up entry after initial “Short” display to change to a "Long" display.

FD/S Follow-Up entry to return to a “Short” display.

Changing the Default You can also change the “default” of your individual terminal so that a “Long” display will be shown every time you input the standard fare display command. Any change to the default will remain in effect until you next sign-off.

FD*LONG Converts default to “Long” fare displays. All seasons and advance purchase periods are shown.

FD*SHORT To revert back to “Short” display.

Fare Quote

Fare Quote Basics Once you have created a Booking File, Galileo will normally be able to price the itinerary automatically and create “FILED FARE DATA”.

FQ Auto Fare Quote the displayed itinerary..

Basic assumptions of Fare Quote

The standard FQ entry will generally quote the lowest fare in the class booked based on the following assumptions:

All segments are to be quoted.

All passengers are to be quoted.

All passengers are adults or specified infants.

Passengers are not exempt from ticketable taxes.

Sold and ticketed in country of terminal location.

All rules are validated when Galileo quotes a fare in response to a FQ/FQA/FQBA/FQBB or FQBC entry. Such rule checks include booking class, minimum & maximum stays, stopovers, combinability, leadtime, point of sale, ticketing time limits etc. Galileo knows when each reservation was made , so if a fare requires to be ticketed within a certain period after making the reservation, Galileo will make the appropriate checks and only display the applicable fare.

Fare Quote example:

Fare Quote Codes One of the following codes will be shown on each Fare Quote display;

Guaranteed fares:

FQG Fare quote is guaranteed.

The Galileo Fares guarantee is unique. However, the guarantee facility is only applicable to those agents using standard Galileo Automated Ticket printing. The guarantee does NOT apply to hand written tickets.

Fares are guaranteed by the airlines when tickets are issued by Galileo Automated Ticketing within the same transaction as the Auto Fare quote or within 60 minutes after End Transact. A warning message will appear at End Transaction:

“TO ENSURE FARE GUARANTEE - TICKET NOW”

If the ticket is not issued within this time the status of the Fare Quote will change from “G” (Guaranteed) to “N” (Not Guaranteed). Tickets can still be issued with an “N” status but the guarantee will NOT apply. If a guarantee is required, you will need to re-quote prior to ticket issue.

Unguaranteed fares:

FQM Manual status not guaranteed.

A manual quote (FQM) is obtained after the use of;

• Fare Basis Code override, eg. FQ@YLE6M

• Fare amendment entries (FA entries)

• Pseudo itinerary entries (FØ entries)

• A Sale/Ticketing date override (FQ.T12MAR96)

• A Sale/Ticketing country override (FQ.MNLSYD)

FQC Computer generated quote not guaranteed

A computer generated quote (FQC) is obtained when;

• The fare contains a ticketing restriction, eg. Ticket must be issued with 72 hours of reservation.

Fare Quote "Best Buy" The "Best Buy" function enables the system to search the fares database for the cheapest fare for the itinerary. This function can only be requested when all segments are confirmed and up to a maximum of 8 segments.

FQBA Fare quote best fare regardless of class availability.

FQBB Fare quote best fare for itinerary searching for class availability. (i.e. The system will check that seats in the class are available.)

The FQBB entry can give two possible responses, one advises that the booking class codes held are correct for the cheapest fare,

i.e. ***NO REBOOK REQUIRED**,

or, the alternative is that it will show which segments need to be rebooked and into which class code,

e.g. ***REBOOK BF SEGMENTS 1Q/2Q***

FQBBK Rebook flights in correct class for best fare quote and file new fare quote. Booking guarantees will be retained.

Fare Quote Alternative The normal FQ entry will always quote the lowest fare for the class of travel booked. However, in many instances a number of different fares can apply to the one Booking Class Code.

If, for example, a business traveller wishes to use the full economy class fare the FQ entry may actually quote an excursion fare which is booked in the same class.

To allow you the option of viewing up to 3 different fares for the one class the “Fare Quote Alternative” entry can be used.

FQA Fare Quote Alternative

The following screen will be displayed after using the “Fare Quote Alternative” entry.

You may wish to use FQA in place of FQ including all modifiers excepting Fare Basis Code. However, you will need to manually file the required fare. This is covered shortly

Storing Alternative Fare Quotes When an FQA entry is used the fares quoted are NOT automatically stored onto your Booking File. If you wish to store one of the alternative fares quoted you must file it manually with the following entry;

FF1 File fare quote number 1.

You may only file multiple fare quotes provided that they are for different passenger types, eg. FF1 for an adult and FF3 for a child. Otherwise the system will consider filing for the same passenger as a duplicate fare and will produce an error message.

FF1.3 File fare quotes 1 & 3, providing that they are for different passenger types, eg. Adult, Child, Infant.

Important Note The number assigned to the quote must always be included, even if the result of the FQA entry is one quote only.

Fare Status Codes

The filed fare summary screen will indicate the status of each fare with one of the following codes:

G Guaranteed

N Not Guaranteed The guaranteed fare quote has not been ticketed within the required time.

C Conditional Guarantee When a fare is quoted which applies the restriction “TICKETING MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN X DAYS/HOURS AFTER RESERVATION MADE” the status code of C in generated. It is the responsibility of the issuing agent to ensure that the advance purchase, reservations, and ticketing restrictions are met.

In addition, the code of C is generated if the Booking File contains an open segment with no specified carrier.

M Manual Fare - Not Guaranteed Occurs after a fare modifier has been added to the entry which overrides the autopricing system, eg. a fare basis code, FQ@YLX.

B Manual Fare Build - Not Guaranteed Manual fare construction added to the booking file for automatic ticketing.

I Invalid Fare Results from changes to the itinerary or passenger names.

The Galileo Fare Guarantee is only applicable to those agents using standard Galileo Automated Ticket printing and when the ticket is issued within the same transaction as the Fare Quote or within 60minutes after End Transact.

Additional Display Entries *FF1 Detailed display of a specific filed fare in linear format.

*FF1P2 Detailed display of a specified filed fare for a specific passenger.

Duplicate Filed Fares The system will allow you to store multiple fare quotes on a Booking File, provided that no two quotes are duplicated (i.e. quotes for same passengers over same sectors, even if fares are different).

Should you have duplicate fare quotes you will not be able to end transaction on your Booking File. Upon entry of the end transaction command the following message will appear:

“DUPLICATE FILED FARES EXIST”

You will need to redisplay your filed fares and cancel the duplicate quote.

Cancelling Filed Fares FXALL Cancel all filed fares.

FX1 Cancel filed fare quote number 1.

Invalidating a Filed Fare The Fare Status Code of “I” indicates that a Fare Quote is now “Invalid”. This occurs under the following circumstances:

• Cancellation of an Air, or Open segment,

• Cancellation of the whole itinerary,

• Change of Date,

• Change of Stopover,

• Change of Class,

• Change of Flight Number,

• Status change,

• Segments re-ordered.

The following changes WILL NOT invalidate a filed fare:

• Cancellation of an auxiliary segment,

• Adding or inserting an air or non air segment.

A change of timing will not normally invalidate a filed fare. However, if a time change moves the flight to another date then the date change will invalidate the filed fare.

Fare Quote Modifiers Modifiers can be added to any of your Fare Quote entries, such as FQ, FQBB, FQBC, FQBA, or FQA, to override the “Basic Assumptions”.

Passenger Modifiers

Fare Quote assumes that all passengers in your booking file are to be quoted. This may not always be the case, such as when one passenger wishes to pay their fare now and the others later on.

The use of a passenger modifier in your command will allow specific passengers to be quoted only.

When selecting passengers in a Booking File for a fare quote they are specified by passenger numbers:

FQP1 Fare quote all segments for passenger one only.

FQP1-3 Fare quote all segments for passengers 1 to 3.

FQP1.4 Fare Quote all segments for passengers 1 and 4 only

Passenger Description Codes

Another “Basic Assumption” of FQ is that all passengers are priced as adults with the exception of infants in the infant name field. Therefore we use “Passenger description codes” to identify children in a fare quote.

FQP3*CH Fare quote for passenger 3 using child fares.

FQP3*A7 Fare quote for passenger 3 using fares applicable for a 7 year old.

FQP2*AD75 Fare Quote passenger 2 with an Agents Discount of 75%.

FQ*CD75 Fare Quote with Senior Citizen discount for passenger aged 75 years.

Fare Quote

Trainee Guide (October 2007) / 47

Segment Modifiers

FQ will also assume that all segments are to be costed. This is not always the case as sometimes separate tickets are issued for different portions of the itinerary.

FQS1 Fare Quote segment 1 only.

FQS1.5 Fare Quote selecting segments 1 & 5 for all passengers.

FQS2-4 Fare Quote for segments 2 through to and including segment 4.

Multiple Modifiers

Most modifiers can be added together, each modifier being separated by a mandatory “/”. The most common occurrence is when both passenger and segment modifiers are added together in the one command

FQP1.2.3*A7.4/S1.5 Fare quote passengers 1 & 2 as adults, passenger 3 as child aged 7 years, and, passenger 4 only on segments 1 and 5.

Class of Travel

When a quote in either First, or Business class for an entire itinerary is required, a “class of travel” modifier can be added to your FQ entry. However, this fare will not be stored on your Booking File, it is for information only.

FQ.J (or C) Fare quote entire journey in business class.

Future Ticketing Date

FQ.TØ3JAN Fare quote using R.O.E for date specified.

Note that future R.O.E can only be used if it has been loaded, this occurs approximately 4 weeks prior to the changeover date.

This fare quote will not be filed and a warning note will be shown.

FQMB3 Fare Quote MUST BREAK at segment 3

FQNB1.4 Fare Quote MUST NOT BREAK at segments 1 and 4

FQOB2 Fare Quote must ONLY BREAK at segment 2

FQ:AP Exclude fares with Advance Purchase conditions

FQ:MM Exclude fares with min/max stay conditions

FQ:NX Exclude fares with maximum stay conditions

FQ:NM Exclude fares with minimum stay conditions

FQ:NR Exclude fares with ANY of the above conditions

Sale & Ticketing

It is also possible to determine a fare using different “Sale” and “Ticketing” points. For example, a Booking File made in Sydney may have an itinerary Sydney/Singapore, which on FQ will show as a SITI transaction. The client may ask for the fare level if the ticket was paid for in Singapore, your FQ entry would then respond with a SOTI transaction. These fares will be stored on your Booking File as a manual fare.

FQ.DPSSYD Quote for ticket being sold outside, ticketed inside (SOTI) the country of commencement of travel (COC). Assuming SYD is the COC.

FQ.DPSDPS Quote for ticket being sold and ticketed outside (SOTO) the country of commencement of travel (COC). Assuming SYD is the COC.

FQ.SYDDPS Sold inside, ticketed outside C.O.C. (SITO).

Fare Basis Modifier

There may be occasions when you know the specific fare that you want and yet the “FQ” assumptions will not allow the auto quote to display it.

This can sometimes happen with domestic fares as the system will look for the lowest fare in the class of travel booked and this may be a fare for inbound overseas passengers or an airpass.

Important Note: Before using this entry try the FQA (Fare QuoteAlternative) entry first. In the majority of cases FQA should obtain the correct fare that you require.

By using the Fare Basis Modifier the Galileo Fares rule and construction validations will also be overridden. Therefore you may get the fare that you are seeking but the system has NOT made any checks to validate that the fare is applicable or has been constructed correctly. The "MUST BREAK" entry add-ons can help ensure that a correct fare is stored.

FQ@K7AN6Ø Fare Quote for a specified fare basis code.

FQ@KBD3Ø/MB2.3 Fare Quote for a specified fare basis, with MUST BREAK fare at segment 2 and 3.

The fare quote will be automatically filed on your Booking File as a “Manual” fare, which is NOT GUARANTEED.

Tax Exemption Modifier

Fare Quote will normally calculate and display all ticketable taxes applicable to the itinerary, and it is normal practice that all these taxes be collected at time of ticket issue.

However, some passengers may be exempt from certain taxes, eg. Transit Without Visa (TWOV), Military Fare passengers. Full details may be found in the Tax Tables (FTAX). In these cases, and only these cases, the Tax Exemption modifier may be used.

FQTE-DE Fare Quote exempting a specific tax code.

FQTE-DE-FR Fare Quote exempting multiple tax codes.

FQTE Fare Quote with total tax exemption.

A warning message “TAX EXEMPTED - (TAX CODE) will be displayed on your ”Fare Quote" screen.

Important Note: Not all taxes allow exemptions (eg. normally tax code US), in which case the Tax Exempt command will still be accepted but not all taxes will be removed from the fare quote, check the message that is displayed on the Fare quote screen.

U.S.A. Itineraries Many U.S.A. airports impose a “Passenger Facility Charge” (P.F.C.). The amount of this charge can vary between airports and presently can be either, USD 1.00, USD 2.00, or USD 3.00.

Also the method of collection can vary between airlines with 3 options being available;

Collect all PFC's at time of ticket issuance.

Collect only the PFC amount for the passenger's U.S. departure gateway at the time of ticket issuance (provided the departure gateway is a PFC airport.)

Collect at the actual time of enplanement at the USA departure gateway.

Most airlines have selected option 2. However, the above variations make it necessary to include a validating carrier in your Fare Quote command when your itinerary includes U.S.A. segments.

The normal Fare Quote commands are still used but you must add a validating carrier as the final modifier, i.e. after any other modifiers:

FQCUA Fare Quote specifying validating carrier

FQBBCBA “Best Buy” specifying validating carrier

FQS1.6/CAA Segment selecting with validating carrier.

FQP1.3/S1.5/CNZ Passenger/segment selecting specifying carrier

If you do not specify a validating carrier in your Fare Quote entry the system will still quote your fare. However, it will not be filed and the following warning message will be displayed:

“UNABLE TO FILE - NEED FQ WITH PLATING CARRIER.”

Fare Amendment Ladder Fare Amendments allow you to quote a fare on an amended itinerary without having to actually change or cancel the “live” booking.

Fare amendments are often used when:

• A passenger asks “What if............”, or

• The system is unable to quote “Too many break points”, or

• You feel that you can construct a cheaper fare than the system.

• If no date is input the default will be the current date.

• If a date is input for any one segment it will be carried through to all segments until another date is input.

• Each city is validated as a stopover unless two consecutive segments have the same date input manually or the connection modifier is used.

+QF Carrier code * eg: FQP SYD+QF AKL+NZ NAN+FJ SYD

• Where a carrier code is not input the fares used for those segments will be standard IATA fares.

There are certain markets where carrier specific fares are filed exclusively. In these cases a carrier code MUST be included. Presently these markets are:

• North American Domestic (U.S. & Domestic)

• Trans-Atlantic

• Trans-Pacific

• Western Hemisphere

• Domestic Area2/Area3

Y+QF Booking Class and carrier code * eg: FQP SYD 15JUN.Y+QF NAN

• A carrier code must be added when a booking class code is

included.

• Once a code has been input for any one segment it then

becomes mandatory for all segments.

X- Connection indicator eg: FQP SYD X-SIN BKK MNL SYD

• Modifier precedes the connection city.

• The system default assumes a stopover for each segment unless overridden by the same input date or the connection modifier.

- - Surface Sector eg: FQP SYD SIN - -BKK SYD

:EH Global Indicator eg: FQP MEL BNE:EH LON

The Travel date, Booking Class Code, and Carrier modifiers can be input in random order between a city pair.

* Booking Class and Carrier codes can be added as either segment or itinerary modifiers. If either one is used as both the itinerary modifier will take precedence.

Try the following examples:

FQP SYD+SQ SIN+CX HKG+AN SYD FQP including Carrier code modifiers.

FQP BNE 9JUN+QF HKG - - BKK 25JUN+TG BNE FQP including date, surface segment and Carrier code modifiers.

Itinerary Modifiers

These modifiers are added to the complete itinerary after the final city code.

.T12OCT98 Ticket date eg: FQP MEL12JAN SIN15JAN BOM2ØJAN SYD.T1ØDEC99

• This modifier will check for valid fares for the specified future ticketing date (next R.O.E. rate loaded 4 weeks prior to changeover).

• The ticketing date must not exceed the travel date.

+BA Carrier code * eg: FQP PER BNE CNS AKL PER+QF

.Y+QF Booking Class and Carrier Code * eg: FQP SYD AKL NAN NOU SYD.Y+QF

• A carrier code must be added when a booking class in included.

.LONAKL Sale & Ticketing city eg: FQP SYD AKL LON.LONAKL

• If the override city for Sale and Ticketing are the same then the city code only needs to be input once.

*CH Passenger Description Code (PDC) eg: FQP BNE NAN TYO BNE*CH

• One PDC per FQP entry can be made.

• The default for no code will be adult fares.

• All standard codes may be used.

@NORMS Fare Type eg: FQP SYD NOU PPT AKL SYD@NORMS

• Fare type categories may be used: NORMS APEX SPCLS

/TE-DE Tax exemption for specified country eg: FQP SYD SIN FRA/TE-DE-AU-RA

• This modifier will exempt up to 7 tax codes.

• A dash “-” is used to separate the tax codes eg. /TE-FR-CA

• Using this modifier without adding any tax codes will exempt all taxes, i.e /TE.

/AP/NM Restriction modifier eg: FQP SYD PER HRE JNB SYD/AP

• The following codes can be used

AP no advance purchase fares.

NM no fares with a minimum stay.

NX no fares with a maximum stay (other than one year).

PE25 no fares with a cancellation penalty higher than the percentage specified

MM no fares with a min or max stay.

NR no fares which contain any of the above penalties.

• A number of codes may be used, each being separated by a slash “/”.

Try the following examples;

FQP ADL5JAN SIN1ØJAN FRA15JAN ADL.T1DEC99 Ticket date modifier

FQP LON ROM LON*CH Child fares

FQP MEL NAN PPT AKL MEL@NORMS Normal fares only.

FQP SYD 12NOV WLG 15NOV AKL 2ØNOV SYD+NZ.Y Complete itinerary travelling with NZ booked in Y class.

Follow-Up Entries After the FQP quote has been displayed, you may then make further modifications to the itinerary by either;

a) Amending the original entry: The original input message is displayed at the top of the screen so you can move the cursor up to modify your original input and re-enter.

or

b) Using Follow-Up entries: Follow-Up entries are available which allow you to change or add modifiers. The change key (@) is used to generate a Follow-Up entry, followed by the modifier required: e.g. [email protected]

Each modifier is preceded by the same identifier as the original input with two exceptions;

• Travel date is preceded by a mandatory slash (/).

• Stopover indicator (which is not available in the original input as stopovers are automatically assumed) is “O-” and is included immediately after the stopover segment number.

Multiple Follow-Up modifiers can be combined together in one entry joined together with “end items” (+) between each.

When using “Follow-Up” entries for individual segments it is necessary to include the relevant segment number. This can be easily obtained by viewing the FQP “Mask”.

FQP “Mask”

The FQP “Mask” will number the segments that have been input, show the carrier, date, city pair, and connection/stopover information.

The “Mask” does NOT allow fare amendments or permit the overtyping of data. However, it does assist you when inputting “Follow-Up” entries.

FQPD Display FQP “Mask”

Segment Follow-Up Entries

Segment Follow-Up entries MUST be preceded by the letter “S” then the segment number or range, eg. S1 or S3-6.

Each of the following segments modifiers can be used as a Follow-Up entry;

FQP@S4+QF Change segment 4 to carrier QF.

FQP@S2X- No Stopover on segment 2.

FQP@S2/22OCT Change date of segment 2 to 22 October.

NOTE: A Follow-Up entry to change the date of a segment will also change any default dates which follow (i.e dates originally automatically assigned by the system).

Follow-Up Modifiers can alter itinerary segments either selectively or continuously;

• Non consecutive segments can be separated by a dot “.”, eg. [email protected]+QF (Change segments 1, 3, & 7 to QF).

• A range of segments can be selected by using a dash"-" eg. [email protected] (Change segments 1 to 7 to Y class).

• Multiple changes can be made separating each different change by a dot (.). eg. FQP@S1:EH.2-4+QF (change segment 1 to EH routing and segments 2 thu 4 to QF.)

Itinerary Follow-Up Entries

Each of the following can be used as an Itinerary Follow-Up;

[email protected] Change whole itinerary to J Class.

(Note: All segments must already have a specified carrier code, other wise a carrier will need to be included, eg. [email protected]+QF)

FQP@+QF Change whole itinerary to QF. *

[email protected] Change ticket date to 25 September, 1998.

[email protected] Change Sales city to LON and Ticket city to SYD.

FQP@*CH Change to Child fares.

FQP@/TE-GB Add tax exemption for GB.

Additional tax exemptions can be added up to the maximum of 7. When the maximum of 7 has been reached an alert message will be displayed: “MAXIMUM 7 TAX EXEMPTIONS".

* Can be used as either a Segment or Itinerary modifier. If used as both the itinerary modifier will take precedence.

If combining both segment and itinerary Follow-Up modifiers the segment and itinerary types are separated by a slash “/” only when the itinerary changes being made begin with either a Booking Code or a Carrier Modifier, otherwise the slash is not required, eg: [email protected]+QF Changing segments 2 to 4 inclusive to Booking Class Code “F” plus the whole itinerary to Carrier code QF.

Additional Functions

Fare Routing On an International fare display a routing based fare is indicated by “R” or “MR” in the MR column on the right hand side of the screen.

On a North American display there is no MR column as ALL fares are routing based. The same input is used to display Routings for both North American & International fares, however the layouts are slightly different.

FR*1 Display routing chart for line 1 of fare display.

In addition to displaying the routing chart, on some occassions the screen will also show the routing rule (Rule paragraph 11) at the bottom of the screen. It is also important to check the stopover rule of the fare as stopovers & transfers may be restricted.

Stop Press “Stop Press” information is information that has not yet been incorporated into the rules, or information that relates to all fares between the city pairs requested.

If the information is brief it may all be presented in the main fare display without the need to go to a further screen. For more lengthy information it will be necessary to use the following command;

FC* Obtain stop press information from fare display.

Unsaleable Fares On some occasions you may see the message “Unsaleable Fares” showing in the top right corner of a fare display screen.

This indicates that there are some “Unsaleable Fares” that apply on this particular routing. However, the fares that are displayed on the screen are normal fares that you can sell as usual, it is necessary to use a further command to view any “Unsaleable fares”.

Fares may be unsaleable for a variety of reasons, the most common are;

• Sale and ticketing restricted to the countries of origin and destination.

• Sale of a fare may stop before the last travel dates (the fare will remain in the display until the last travel date).

FU* Display unsaleable fares from fare display.

It may also be necessary to view the “Advertising/Sales”rule (Paragraph 13) relating to the “Unsaleable fare” to determine the reason for it being unsaleable.
