I have taken a selection of different pictures of the phone that we used in our short film. I placed the phone against a white background, this is so that it would be easier for me to crop the background out and just be left with the phone. Below I have you can see the image that I have chosen to use for my film poster.

First I am using the ‘Magic Wand Tool’ that allows me to select an area within the image and remove it. When I have selected the section I was to remove I press Control x. This deletes the background selected. As shown below you can see that I have selected just the phone, from there I am going to move it onto a new page.

I have selected the ‘International paper’ size ‘A4’for my film poster, this is because typically most film posters are made on A4 sized paper, below you can see just the plain image of the phone.

To change the size of the image I use the transform button. By holding shift and using my mouse to drag the image it keeps it the same format.

I used the burn tool to darken the edges of the phone and make it look like it had a shadow.

I used the blur tool to soften the edges of the phone as well.

I’ve used the clone stamp tool to make sure that the table top matched on either side.

I have changed the background of my image so that the phone is presented on an all-black background.

By selecting Control shit “I”, inverses the image, allowed me to select a part of the image; in this case it was the white, and removed the unnecessary white parts.

I’ve added in text using the horizontal type tool to add in the title and log line for my film poster. The font style, colour and size are presented below.

I used both the brush tool and eraser tool to add in and edit the wire falling from the phone.
