Magnetic field indicator acc. to ASTM E-709 (Pie Gauge) for determination of the field direction during magnetic particle testing

Description:

The magnetic field indicator serves to show the presence and approximate direction

of the magnetic field during magnetic particle inspection.

Eight triangularly shaped segments of low carbon steel brazed together and copper

plated form an octagon.

The Magnetic field indicator complies with:

1. ASTM E-709, ASTM E-1444

2. ASME B and PV Code Section V, Edition 2010, Addenda 2011a

Application: Set the head of magnetic field indicator with the copper side on the test piece

and flush it with magnetic particle suspension.

If the magnetization is sufficient the field direction is shown by the magnetic

particle suspension that collects in those seams that lie according to the field

direction.
