Digital Technology:
• Definition: the use of digital resources to effectively find, analyse, create, communicate, and use information in a digital context.
In terms of my As Coursework:
-Used computing and specific software to help me in the creation of my magazine ( In-Design) as well as to finalise photographs (through Photoshop) that would be applied into the actual magazine.
-Blogs were used in order to keep track of my work (on both sides of the course). For my coursework blog, a variety of digital technologies were present, such as slide shares, Prezis, YouTube videos and more.
Creativity:
• Definition: The use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness.
In terms of my As Coursework:
-Creating the idea for he actual music magazine: who was to be front page worthy, the articles, the specific examples that the character that I had created would respond with in the article, found inside the magazine.-Also included:-Colour scheme, masthead etc
-The photography was key, as it was important tot create familiar yet original ideas for the models, and how exactly they would be placed within the magazine.
Research and Planning:
• Definition: The preparation in advance for future events.
In terms of my As Coursework:
-Time management was key: knowing if I had any spare time to write or create more blog post. If there was an free scheduling for an extra photo-shoot.
-Researching other successful brands and borrowing those and other fundamental parts of a magazine and applying them toward my own coursework.
-Planning specific stages for my magazine. For example sticking to deadlines when writing the articles, making sure that it was refined, edited and up to its highest standard.
Post Production:
• Definition: the continuation of work after the main creation of the product has taken place.
In terms of my As Coursework:
-Thinking up ideas, through process of elimination deciding an delegating the right ones that would sit my house style for my magazine.
-thinking about the layout of other magazines, and seeking other brands as a source for inspiration.
Using conventions from real world texts:
• Definition: typical values and aspects that are found from within a specific medium of work.
In terms of my As Coursework:
-The codes and conventions of a magazine, and applying them to my coursework. The idea was not to create something original, but to follow past material that was proven to be a success and familiar with audiences.
