Like the sheep, we wander

away from God and wethink only of ourselves.



When we sin, what do we

come back to him.He gives us the chance to find

our way back to the Father to

experience peace once

again.



Jesus brings us back to

the Father through the

Sacrament of

Reconciliation. The

word ³reconciliation"³reconciliation"

means ³coming back´³coming back´ or

³together again.´³together again.´



Through this sacrament,

Jesus brings us back to theFather by giving us His loving

forgiveness.

we receive and celebrate God¶s

forgiveness through the priest

We are reconciled with theChurch.



Jesus shared the power toJesus shared the power to

His apostles

bishops and priests



When we tell our sins to the

priest, it·s Jesus who listensto us and when the priest

forgives us, it is the loving forgiveness of Jesus that we

receive.



The Sacrament of

Reconciliation hasfour main parts:



`̀ ContritionContrition ± when we feel sorry for

the sins we have done`̀ ConfessionConfession ± when we tell our sins

to the priest

`̀ P enanceP enance ± when we pray or dosome acts of love to make up for

our sins

`̀ Absolution Absolution ± when we are given

the sign of God¶s forgiveness



Sacrament of Reconciliation:

- makes us friends again withfriends again withGod and with othersGod and with others.

- we become united once againwith God and with God¶s

people-the Church.



Once forgiven, we are

now ready to start all over again.

We continue to grow in

friendship with God and

with others.

the sign of the cross:` ³IN THE NAME OF THE F ATHER

HOLY SPIRIT. BLESS MEF ATHER, FOR I H AVE SINNED.

MY SINS ARE«´ (Tell all your

sins..)



` After you have confessed all your

sins, say:` ³FOR THESE AND ALL MYSINS, I

AM VERY SORRY.´

`Listen to the priest for your penance.

Say the A

ct of Contrition slowly andwith love.



`Make the sign of the cross when

the priest raises his hand to give

you the absolution, the sign of

God¶s forgiveness.

`When the priest says, ³Go inpeace, your sins are forgiven,´ you

will answer, ³TH ANK YOU,

F ATHER.´`Go back to your place and say your

penance silently.
