G-Premio BOND is a universal bonding agent that is compatible with total-, self- and selective-etch techniques. Clinical Evaluation Protocol: The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical performance of G-aenial Sculpt with G-Premio BOND at placement and at six months. The restorations were placed by four clinicians at Enspire Dental. Placement: One hundred thirty-eight G-aenial Sculpt with G-Premio BOND restorations were evaluated at placement for tooth number, surface, handling, ease of adjustment, ease of finish/polish, and esthetics. The restorations included 82 molars, 51 premolars and 5 anteriors (Figure 1). The classification of restorations was recorded with 96% being posterior restorations (Figure 2). All G-aenial Sculpt with G-Premio BOND restorations were placed using the self-etch technique. Consultant Comments • “Exceptional handling, packs well, not sticky and contours extremely well.” • “Has the right viscosity – I can get good anatomy without slumping.” • “The esthetic is exceptional – often it is hard to tell where the filling is.” • “Excellent esthetics – ‘chameleon’ like shade match.” GC America www.gcamerica.com Clinical Observations: Placement Handling, ease of adjustment, ease of finish/polish, and esthetics were evaluated using a 1-5 rating scale: 1 = poor, 2 = fair, 3 = good, 4 = very good, 5 = excellent. Handling, ease of adjustment, ease of finish/polish, and esthetics rated excellent at placement. Six Months G-aenial Sculpt with G-Premio BOND restorations were monitored at six months for lack of post-operative sensitivity, lack of marginal discoloration, resistance to fracture and chipping, wear resistance, and retention. Evaluations were completed using a 1-5 rating scale: 1 = poor, 2 = fair, 3 = good, 4 = very good, 5 = excellent. No reports of sensitivity were noted during the evaluation period. Two restorations were noted to have very deep caries at time of placement. These restorations will be monitored at future recalls. No signs of marginal discoloration were noted. No restorations exhibited any signs of fracture or chipping. No restorations exhibited any signs of wear. No debonding was observed at six months. Summary G-aenial Sculpt with G-Premio BOND received excellent ratings at placement and at six months. The material was easy to place with excellent handling and easy adjustment. Exceptional esthetics was achieved with nice shade blending and a smooth finish/polish.
