THE INSPIRATION
This fashion trend lends itself to the free spirit of the late60s and 70s, which gave women a voice through music.Designers are drawing inspiration from the effortlessstyle of musicians from that era, such as Janis Joplin,Stevie Nicks and Grace Slick.
Female musicians of festivals past have establishedsizeable movements within the realm of women'sliberation. This movement birthed the notion ofself-expression through dress.
Today's key styles and details, such as carpet bags, suede, and straight leg bell bottoms are derived fromglobal marketplaces. The impact of the Bohemiansubculture that started in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood is melodically woven intodesigners' collections. Fall/Winter 2015 collectionsinclude an eclectic mix of historical artifacts from the 60sand 70s. Other musician-inspired details include topsand bottoms that highlight the "new hippie." This newhippie follows the #vanlife movement, which iscomposed of nomadicy, sustainability, and preservationof music.

THE INSPIRATION
Fashion welcomes the idea of creating a personal, desiredlook by pairing textiles that unpredictably complement eachother. Fall/Winter 2015 invites an unexpected mix oftextures, fabrics and prints. In the quest for garments thatare unique, the answer seems to be a mashup of variousfabrics from across decades.
This season's most compelling style is borrowed from men'stailoring on Savile Row. Designers have been inspired by theidea of repurposing items, so are offering deconstructedsilhouettes in an array of fabrics. The mixture of fabricscreates an androgynous aesthetic, which bodes well forwomen who are looking for respect in the workplace.Layering a variety of silhouettes and fabrics together is aparticularly popular trend in the Juniors segment. The newblend of masculine and feminine results in a modern, wearable look. Fabric details include unusual surfaces withyarn-like textures. Relaxed, tailored silhouettes in lightweightfabrics including gauze and linen offer the feel of newromanticism. Paper bag and drawstring waists are essentials, and separates in neutral plaid checks provide a sense of that

THE INSPIRATION
Our seasonal wish is here: denim is both a trendand a staple item for Fall/Winter 2015. Thisseason, we look over the past few decades fordenim-focused inspiration.
Denim work in the 70s was about clean, streamlined design elements, with Jane Birkinleading the way. Serge Gainsbourg was just ahair behind her. Then, the 90s brought us muchmore DIY creativity with loose, comfort-drivenshirt dresses, overalls and boyfriend jeans.
Tailored denim that is fitted and well cut is whatwe are watching in Fall/Winter 2015. The fabricfocus from a transition standpoint will go fromlightweight twills to heavy, raw-constructed,tailored denim.
