Form
Affirmative sentences:
I am seeing some friends tonight.He/she/it is seeing some friends tonight.We/you/they are seeing some friends tonight. Negative sentences:
I am not leaving until Friday.He/she/it is not leaving until Friday.We/you/they are not leaving until Friday.
Questions:
Am I doing anything this evening?Is he/she/it doing anything this evening?Are we/you/they doing anything this evening?
You can use the Present Continuous for future
arrangements which we have have planned for a fixed time or planned for a fixed time or
place.place.
Use
The Present Continuous is specially common with the expressions:
tonight, tomorrow, this weekend, etc and with the verbs go, come, meet, see, leave and
arrive.E.g.We´re having dinner at their house tomorrow.
Don´t use the Present Simple for this.
Don´t say:
E.g. I see some friends tonight.
Next Saturday, Tessa ______ (do) aerobics. In the afternoon she ______ (meet) Rachel. In the evening, she ______ (go) to a concert. On Sunday, Tessa
_________ (have) breakfast in a café. In the afternoon, she
