with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and email.
Upon successful completion of this course, student will be able to:
Recognize when to use each of the Microsoft

sonal and/or business documents following
current professional and/or industry stand-

The OSHA Outreach Training Program for
General Industry provides training for entry
level workers & employers on the recogni-
tion, avoidance, abatement, & prevention
of safety & health hazards in the workplac-
es in general industry.
The program also provides information re-
garding workers’ rights, employer responsi-
bilities, & how to file a complaint.

The 608 EPA Certification Program (For Stationary
HVACR Systems and Equipment ) Section 608 of
the Federal Clean Air Act requires that all persons
who maintain, service, repair or dispose of appli-
ances that contain regulated substances be certi-
fied in proper refrigerant handling techniques.
The test is broken down into 4 sections, which are
core, type I, type II, and type III. The test is a self-study test.
Study guides can be picked up at Waynesville Career Center main
office.
Test will be administered online and proctored by Mr. Roam HVAC
instructor at Waynesville Career Center.

The HiSET® test (formerly the GED) lets you demon-
strate that you have attained the knowledge equivalent
of a high school graduate. It consists of five subtests
that measure your knowledge in five core areas: Read-
ing, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s (MSF) Basic Rider Course
is aimed at beginning or re-entry riders. The class consists of 15
hours total, a minimum of 5 hours classroom Instruction pre-
pares the student for at least 10 hours of practical riding in a
controlled, off street environment. The course concludes with a knowledge test and a skill evaluation.
The course completion card will assist you in obtaining a motorcycle endorsement on your license,
since the skill portion of the exam will be waived. Completion may also qualify the student for reduced
insurance premium on their motorcycle policy. Motorcycles used in this course are 250 cc or less and
they WILL be provided for the class. The minimum age for enrollment is 15 1/2 years of age with par-
ent permission.

Footwear: over-the ankle boots can protect riders from
a variety of hazards
Helmets: to protect the head and brain, provide com-
fort, and protection against hearing loss, helmets are
designed to resist the force of impact throughout the
helmet so less of the impact energy reaches the head
and brain.
MUST USE APPROVED DOT HELMETS!
Eye protection: Eye and Face protectors (either goggles or visors) protect from wind, in-
sects, dust, and pebbles.
Jacket/Long sleeve shirt: Must be worn to protect arms.
Motorcycle gloves: Full fingered gloves protect from wind, sun, heat, and cold.
Pants: Should be cut longer in length to cover your ankles while sitting.
Lawn chair, Bottled Water and Sunscreen.
