Kendall Williams

Creative Director Kendall received his Interior Design degree in Los Angeles. He returned to Toronto where he successfully managed several retail showrooms that pioneered in bringing quality furniture and prestigious furnishings to the city. He began KENDALL & Co to create dynamic interior spaces, ranging from the traditional to the innovative. Long before eco became chic, Kendall was already leading KENDALL & Co and our clients into going green. He directs his team on every design project, in the studio and on-site, to ensure accountability and client satisfaction. Kendall has been widely featured for his expertise in the national press, industry publications and television. He expanded KENDALL & Co into retail to bring extraordinary décor objects and home accessories that have longevity, a point of view and a certain “must-have” special quality. Kendall sources each product with his philosophy of making great designs accessible, without pretention. While clients respect Kendall’s discerning expertise and attention to detail, he is appreciated for his sincerity and his warm heart. Kendall is the past chairperson for Toronto’s Cabbagetown Tour of Homes, a fundraiser supporting historical preservation and neighbourhood revitalization. Kendall heads a team who are integral to expanding our community of style enthusiasts and like-minded professionals.

What is KENDALL & Co’s fee structure?

Option 1 – Fixed Fee Contract is set based on the specifics agreed upon at the client intake meeting for projects with budgets less than $15,000. Contingent to the scope, a fixed fee from $585 to $5,000+ is invoiced for our services. A full payment or a retainer is required before final deliverables. All addendums are assessed for appropriate implementation, then approved by the client and charged separately as billable studio hours plus expenses for materials and/or subcontractors. For example:

An On-Site / In-Home Consultation $585 - $680

Colours & Finishes, Furniture Layout or Space Planning, Electrical Plans, inclusive of CAD Drawing, $3,000 - $5,000 and up, depending on the property and complexity of the concept

Option 2 – Variable Fee Contract consists of Design Fee at 20% of the entire budget for all payables over the course of the project. The contract is conditional on deploying tradespersons qualified by KENDALL & Co. 20% Design Fee gives you 2 options (on average) per item that best match the parameters set out in the design meeting. Further sourcing is then charged separately as billable studio hours. Progress payments from the client are clearly communicated beforehand, as the project and its budget evolves, constituting the client’s approval to advance to next milestone with KENDALL & Co.

Option 3 – Billable hours for our Design Services and variable charges for elective services offered by KENDALL & Co at $285 per hour or applications through our subcontractors.

KENDALL & Co provides varying fee structures to accommodate our client’s finances and to execute the particular scale of each interior design project. Our fees continue to represent the fair and professional standard in our industry, as recognized for over 20 years by our loyal clients.

I wish to hire KENDALL & Co, what is our next step?

1 Our initial meeting involves getting to know you at our Studio. A Design Consultation is then scheduled where our Team conducts a site visit to photograph the space, draw up your wish list and take measurements.

2 Our next meeting takes place at our Studio where we review our Design Prospectus together. The outcome of which is a clear itemization of requirements for your project with an approximate budget and fee structure. Further work proceeds upon receipt of a retainer.

4 You are added to our roster for project management should you wish to contract KENDALL & Co to lead the implementation of your design. This includes, but not limited to, exclusive access to our sourcing capabilities, coordinating timely deliveries of goods and completion of services and clarifying a vast range of important specifics with qualified tradespersons. We establish a schedule of progress payments for procurement according to timeline.

5 Step by step, we reveal your inner beauty! Status meetings ensure we proactively progress according to plan and to your satisfaction. Upon settlement of remaining receivables from you, we provide a final install and cleaning of your job site at its completion.

3 Our Studio Team begins tendering quotes for all aspect of your project. We present a complete concept, based on practical designs, for your feedback. Samples may be shown as examples and inspirations. Addendums or changes are assessed and priced to finalize budget, drawings and project plan for your approval.
