Fundraising Ideas

SweepstakesWhy not ask your guests to pay a £1 and guess how many cups of tea are drunk in the UK each day or how many coffee beans you need to make 1 litre of espresso? You can either give a percentage of the money raised to the winner or why not give them first choice on the cakes?

Take care of the Pennies? You could challenge your guests to collect their coppers or 5p coins in the week leading up to your event, and then donate them on the day. Or even just ask people to place any loose change they have on the day into a collection box.

Guess the weight of the cake/How many sweets in the jarEither place a cake in a visible position, or fill a jar with small wrapped sweets, and then charge people to guess the weight of the cake or guess how many sweets are in the jar. At the end of your event, the person with the answer closest to the correct number wins the cake/sweets.

Get the boss involvedIf you hold your event in your workplace, try to get your boss involved – perhaps get them to offer to make the tea for everyone for a £1 donation per person, or help them get sponsored to make the tea for everyone for the whole day without complaining!

Pay to decorate a cake or biscuitThis is one for the children or the young at heart, why not ask for a donation of 50p or £1 and give people an undecorated cupcake, or a plain biscuit to decorate. You can have bowls of icing, chocolate sauce, hundreds and thousands, smarties, jelly tots etc for people to choose from to decorate their cake or biscuit before they eat it.

QuizWhy not ask people to pay a £1 and hold a quiz? You could ask general knowledge questions, have a picture or music round, or why not test your guests knowledge of tea?
