For Immediate Release International Autosport Racing Group and Project6 Team up with Cari Ray for Concert Benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation May 28, 2010 Indianapolis, IN- Mike Statnick of Indianapolis, IN, recently embarked on journey with a goal both selfless and admirable. As a research scientist working on finding a cure for diabetes and other metabolic diseases, Statnick decided to take his dedication to a whole new level and begin racing in direct support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Combining his professional goals with his personal passion of motor racing, Statnick has found a way to have his fun and make a world of difference at the same time. Racing a few weeks ago at Putnam Park in his #09 IARG/P6 JDRF/ Clear Skies Consulting/ Sun King Brewery/ CariRay/ Zionsville Autosport 2000 BMW Z3 MCoupe, Mike set a new personal track record as well as re-positioning his BMW into the GTS 3 Class. “Many people think that the checkerboard hood is just a design, but it’s so much more than that.” explained Statnick. “Each of those squares is a space available for anyone’s name who pledges or makes a donation to the JDRF through our organization. So far we’ve had a great response, but we’re always looking for more. It couldn’t go towards a more noble cause. You can find more information on securing your spot on the hood for upcoming races at www.internationalautosportracinggroup.com or by attending one of our upcoming benefit concerts. The racing this weekend was phenomenal when the weather allowed. Doug and IARG put together a great car for me. Even though I spent the first few runs testing out some new performance parts, I had a great time and view the weekend as a success. This was our first time out since putting this new effort together and I think it went well. It gave us a good mark to measure the success of the coming weekends, which I feel are going to have even better results for us both on the racetrack and in donations for the JDRF.” During the breaks in between racing events, Statnick has scheduled a number of great benefit concerts and activities revolving around his effort. The next such effort is a Beer and BBQ Fest on Saturday, June 19th, at the Sun King Brewery and will also be featuring a Car Show and the musical talents of country singing sensation Cari Ray. This charity event is being run in coordination with the JDRF and has a goal of raising $5,000 for the founda- tion. The event will be held at the Sun King Brewery, 135 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with Cari Ray beginning her performance at 5:00pm. You can also visit www.cariray.com for more information. In preparation for his racing endeavours, Statnick has been training with Abby Fox, of Carmel, IN, regarded as one of the best personal trainers in the Indianapolis area. He continues to push himself both physically and mentally with Abby leading the way. Ms. Fox is best known for her incredibly upbeat and positive personality, as well as her extensive knowledge in the fields of physical training and nutrition. Abby will also be on location at the Sun King Brewery concert event showing her support for Statnick while also signing autographs and pictures for the fans. More information is available on her website at www.abbyfoxfitness.com The next racing event comes on the weekend of June 26th and 27th at the Beaver Run Motorsports Complex. The 12-turn winding road course near Wampum, PA, is a challenging course filled with sweeping curves, tight corners, and two straights long enough to get some serious speed. Statnick approaches the weekend like any other, full of confidence and ready to race. “I’m excited about the upcoming event at Beaver Run. The car will have some more development and testing done to it by then, so I should feel a noticeable difference. I think that with my elevated physical fitness, confidence in the car, and the modifications and setup from IARG, my performance at Beaver Run should be a major improvement over Putnam.” said Statnick. He continued: “IARG has really outdone themselves in the preparation and meticulous attention to detail while building my BMW, and I hope I do well for them. The real goal of the weekend is to raise even more support and awareness for the JDRF.” IARG Team Principal Doug Livingston is excited about the upcoming events, both off and on the track. “Mike’s really got something going here. We’re gaining traction every day with both the racing and fund- raising efforts. I am really looking forward to seeing where Mike and I can take this in 2010 and beyond.” For nearly 10 years, International Autosport Racing Group has provided world-class development and engineering support to premiere racing teams.
