Methods of Fundraising• Grants from Charitable Trusts or Foundations

• Ideal Projects – these projects all work with and directly benefit members of the community. This is a great position to be in when applying to trusts or foundations as many support those sorts of projects

• Examples include the National Lottery, Local Council or Charitable Trusts• RAG – this may be more difficult however there may be trusts or foundations that

support students and charitable work. • Corporate Sponsorship

• Event Fundraising

Methods of Fundraising• Grants from Charitable Trusts or Foundations• Corporate Sponsorship

• Sponsorship from a local business or company – offer something such as publicity in return for cash.

• Donations from companies – e.g. art materials or decorations for the project• What will they get out of it? Offering something in return to the company

often works wonders, don’t forget that there are 22,000 students at UAL - that is a lot of publicity for one company with little effort on their part!

• Event Fundraising

Budgeting• Be prepared to keep a tight hold on your budgets! Losing control

means spending more money than you may have• Remember to cost even the small things such as pens and paper,

don’t rely on anyone else to remember these things – have it in the plan!

• Keeping costs down • Economise – shop around and make sure you have the best price

before you buy• Blag! Ask companies to donate things or give you a discount • As a final resort use the cash that you have fundraised
