The Carbon Reduction Commitment typically includes businesses with an annual electricity spend greater than £500,000. EU rules on state aid mean they are unable to offer loans to organisations involved in: transport sector (for the acquisition or adaptation of vehicles), agricultural or fisheries products (production, processing, or marketing prior to the first sale), or export-related activities. E.ON Sustainable Energy FundsProvider E.ON www.eon-uk.com/sustainableenergyfund Who? Local community groups and not-for-profit organisations, but applicant organisations must be delivering benefits to at least one of the following groups; education, vulnerable people and people in fuel poverty. Schools are eligible for grants. What? Projects must result in the creation of renewable energy and/or a reduction in the amount of energy used, whilst demonstrating a positive impact on the local community. How Much? Maximum grant £20,000 – grants can cover up to 90% of total project costs. Info Grants can be matched against public funds. Applicants do not have to be E.ON customers. What? 1 Capital grants for the installation of micro-generation technologies and/or energy efficient measures (woodfuel biomass boilers and automated wood pellet stoves included) 2 Project development grants for feasibility studies relating to qualifying projects under 1. How Much? 1 Capital Grants; Max: £50,000 can cover up to 50% of the project costs for installing micro-generation technologies and energy efficiency measures. There is no minimum grant. 2 Project development grants – Max: £5,000, up to 75% of feasibility study costs. Info Quarterly funding rounds are currently scheduled. Applications from the Yorkshire & Humber region are actively encouraged due to past under- representation. Local authorities, housing associations, NHS Trusts, commercial businesses and householders are not eligible. Phase Two up to £600 (or 20% of eligible project costs) [Wood pellet room heaters/stoves]. Maximum grant £2,500 any one household. Maximum grant: £200,000 any one site, upto 50% of total project costs. Info Biomass heating systems up to 300kW are eligible under Phase 2 (community/public sector). Applicants must use a certified installer and certified products. Applications are processed on a rolling basis. There is no minimum grant value. The programme has been extended until the introduction of new Feed-in-Tariffs and Renewable Heat Incentives.
