AQUATIC INSTRUCTOR FITNESS CERTIFICATION Friday & Saturday March 24 & 25, 2017 (6:00 pm - 10:00 pm & 10:00 am - 6:00 pm)

This foundation Instructor program provides leaders with functional techniques to design a water group exercise program for a variety of ages, skills and fitness levels. This onsite practical training will provide instructors with the general structure of designing for shallow water programs utilizing the aquatic basic moves and techniques to adjust intensity. The goal is to provide a balanced program that is safe, effective and enjoyable for the diverse populations that attend group exercise classes. Candidates will learn visual and verbal teaching skills to provide training for the cardiovascular system as well as techniques for muscular strengthening, flexibility and balance training. This training will provide experience both for theoretical knowledge for body biomechanics and lesson planning (classroom) as well as and practical (pool) sessions to feel and practice the movements. We do recommend that you have taken some aquatic fitness classes and are comfortable in the water, however, no experience is required - just a love of the water, fitness and helping people move ! We do recommend that you register early so that you may review the materials prior to the course and benefit with the onsite training. Examination templates are in the manual to review so you may fast track the examination process. You may request the materials be shipped to your house for $15.00 or candidates may pick everything up at the event.

AQUATIC PRACTICAL TOOL BOX 8.0 HOUR CEC WORKSHOP Saturday, March 25, 2017 (10:00 am - 6:00 pm)

Build a flowing, enjoyable and effective program takes time and energy. This shallow and deep water workshop is an excellent option to update your Instructing qualifications by reviewing techniques, skills and lesson planning.

Discover infinite ways to make programs interesting and effective. Review simple techniques to design purposeful programs in both shallow and deep water depths. This training workshop will provide 50 ways to change up or provide combinations to your basic water fitness moves. We will review interesting exercise variations using a noodle and turn the water into the gym of the future. This session will review bottom and non bottom contact techniques to unload the body and maximize core challenge. Additionally, learn 10 ways to create more intensity or modify intensity with every water specific movement so that all patrons may be safely challenged. Make the most of your movements! Guaranteed ideas and energy to keep your programs growing and benefiting!

Additionally, review how shallow & deep water programs may be neatly combined into one program. Realize though that each depth requires specialized skills and moves, and offers different benefits. Review a variety of moves, working or body positions, and program designs to skilfully teach both depths simultaneously. This program will review lots of movement variations and techniques, provide multi-level options and opportunities for your participants for both non-impact and low impact water training. Time will be spent, planning and practicing new lesson plans ( shallow, deep, and combo shallow & deep). Taking time to become successful and skilled with teaching both water depths as a combination class or independently just takes time and energy.

AQUATIC MIND BODY INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION OR 8.0 CEC WORKSHOP Sunday, March 26, 2017 (10:00 am - 6:00 pm)

Water exercise is an excellent modality for managing ourselves and our well being. Explore ways to develop physical and mental strength, co-ordination and rejuvenation. This program includes theoretical information and practical approaches to various mind-body techniques including Yoga, Tai-chi, Pilates, relaxation and de-stressing techniques. Learn an appropriate exercise inventory in the water for these and other mindful movement programs. Learn how to market programs either as a separate entity or as part of a regular group exercise program. This program shows how to facilitate programs for both warm water and regular pool temperature pools.

Certification Registration Fee Includes: Manual with study guide questions & answers, 8 hours of training (theory in classroom & practical pool session), DVD065 Mind Body Flow H2O Workout, Laminated Pool Cards, E-Certification diploma and online profile when successful with exam. Certificate of course completion: 8.0 CECs for WaterART, ACE, AEA. Complimentary Certification Renewal of any existing current qualification for 2 years from the newest levels passing date. All new candidates to WaterART Fitness or expired WaterART Certified Instructors will be required to complete BOTH theory & practical assessment. WaterART Instructor who are currently certified only require to complete theory assessment.

WaterART Master Trainer: Anne Marie Waterhouse

Anne Marie Waterhouse is the mermaid trainer! A Certified WaterART Instructor for over a decade with Gold level Certification. She is the Water Fitness Coordinator at the Rocky Run YMCA in Media, PA, a guest presenter & trainer at Spas in the northeast, and a 500 hour certified Yoga instructor. Anne Marie's background is in Figure Skating, Dance, Yoga, Kinesiology, & Choreography. Combining these skills with over 3 decades in the fitness industry she is now thrilled to be able to train other people who love the water to become Certified WaterART Instructors.

HOW TO RENEW YOUR QUALIFICATIONS EVERY TWO YEARS

Fitness Industry standards of care AND liability purposes Certified Instructor’s or Trainer’s require that all fitness professionals must re-qualify their certifications every 2 years. Option 1) 16.0 CEC hours (via re-certification weekends 16.0 hrs, day workshops 4.0-8.0 hrs); OR complete DVD/Quizzes (each disc worth 2.0 hrs); OR by completing non WaterART programs (maximum of 8.0 hrs) OR a combination of both.

Option 2) Complete another level of WaterART Certification, prior to your certification (s) expiration date.

If your WaterART Certification(s) have expired, you will have 1 year from your expiration date, to renew your qualifications. For liability reasons WaterART is unable to renew expired qualifications past one year. A candidate must complete the entire Certification and exam competencies once again to become re-certified. Also, please note that any extra continuing Educational Credits (CECs) from one 2 year period may not be carried over into future renewal periods. WaterART does not transfer certifications from other organizations. Each individual must purchase his/her own WaterART Certification program (sharing is prohibited due to copyright and liability reasons). If you have more than one





certification, all certifications will expire on the same expiration date. Likewise, renewal of one certification will automatically renew all levels of qualification with WaterART Fitness.

EXAM PROCESS

How to Complete the Theory Exam Process: All Theory Examinations are take-home, open book, applied theory. You may email the exam answers in a PDF or

word docx, doc files OR mail exam to USA office mailing address: 210 South 8th St, Lewiston NY 14092. We do not allow shared answers.

How to Complete the Practical Assessment: The practical assessments may be completed via an onsite assessment with a WaterART Master Trainer OR be

mailed with a video presentation on a USB stick in a VLC, MOV or MP4 format. You can film the program in your home (as if you are on deck) or teach from a pool, or a combination of the two. We recommend keeping your filming simple, with just yourself or a small group. The goal is to mark the instructor, so we need to be able to see, hear and understand your exercise goals and coaching tips. There is a detailed marking system and exam guidelines in the back the each manual for your reference. Please note we do not accept video streaming downloads because of viruses and liability issues.

Exam Deadlines Basic Onsite Aquatic Instructor Certification: 4 months from training date to submit exams All other Onsite/Home study Aquatic & Land Instructor Certifications: 6 months from training date to submit exams Exams submitted after deadline, will be subject to a $35.00 late fee for each exam (theory or practical) you submit in

late. Please note that we do not accept exam submissions after 1 year from the initial training date. To fast track the exam process, we recommend that you order and review your course materials prior to the course.
