There is a tendency for todays utilization of fumecupboard to be more concerned on the safety ofpersonnel conducting delicate tests and dangerousexperiments. Various efforts have been made bymanufacturer of fume cupboard to take into consideration

of this new trend. The NOVAIRETMFume Cupboard isspecifically design and developed with this intention inmind to provide perfect performances and safety fea-

tures.

In general, NOVAIRETM fume cupboard is designed and certified according to a recognized international per-formance standard; British Standard, BS 7258, Parts 1-4 and AS/NZS2243.8-2001 and approved by SIRIM MALAYSIA.It is tested against ASHRAE 110-1995 (American Society of Heating, Re-frigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers), Method of Testing Perfor-mance of Laboratory Fume Cupboard in order to give high degree of safe-ty and effective operation. The optimum performance of fume cupboardrelies on correct design of a suitable fume extraction system. NOVAIRETMFume Cupboard comes with fume removal system, where blower attachedto give a superior performance and long life. NOVAIRETM exhaust sys-tems are engineered specially for use with NOVAIRETM Fume Cupboards.

The laminar air flow pattern is generated dueto the smooth corners of the inner liner andthe aerodynamic shape of the front fasciawhich facilitates the air movement into thefume cupboard. When the sash is half-wayclosed, the face velocity increase but it is

redistributed and balanced by the top airby-pass vent.Smoke simulation when sash is fully or halfway open Smoke simulation when sash is fullyclosed. When the sash is fully closed the air isredistributed through the top air by-pass venttherefore minimizing the velocity of the air en-tering the fume cupboard, and the fluctuationof the face velocity.
