Where will I dissect? The new state-of-the-art Gross Anatomy Lab at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Cell Biology.
Who attends? Since 1993 graduates have included individuals with a variety of backgrounds and interests seeking to study human anatomy.
How many students dissect? Seven students are assigned to each embalmed cadaver.
What will I learn about the bequeathed? Age, sex, occupation and cause of death.
What happens to the bequeathed? The remains of the bequeathed (Our Silent Teachers) are cre- mated and returned to the Anatomical Board, then returned to the loved ones. In the event there are no living survivors, then a service and burial is held in honor of the bequeathed and their contributions.
Can I request to study a particular gender? We do not have control of the number of particular genders released to our program. Every effort is made to honer your request, however, requests cannot be guaranteed.
Will I be able to study the different body systems? Yes, you will have access to every structure, including the brain, spinal cord, lungs, heart and abdomen.
Photographs | videos No photo or video equipment is permitted in the lab by students.
Am I qualified? There is absolutely no need to be intimidated or concerned about your anatomy knowledge. A friendly experienced instructional team will guide you through the dissection. To facilitate your learning experience we provide:

Brief PowerPoint presentations reviewing: anatomy, clinical relevance, precautions and dissecting tips.
Anatomy textbooks to reference while dissecting.
Friendly experienced instructional team in a state of the art lab.
Schedule July 20 | Sunday 7:00pm - Orientation at the hotel.
July 21-25 | Monday - Friday 7:15, 7:30 and 7:45am - Shuttle departs hotel to lab
8:00am to 5:00pm - Seminar in progress
12:00 to 1:00pm - Lunch
July 22 | Tuesday 7:00pm - Student Dinner at the hotel

Attire Temperature The lab is cool and we have no control over the temperature. It is recommended you wear layered clothing.
Attire Comfortable attire is recommended. Scrubs or short-sleeved tops allow you to roll up the sleeves of your lab coat. Your legs need to be covered. You can wear jeans, however, you will not be permit- ted into the lab wearing stained, torn or ripped jeans, capri pants, shorts, skirts or dresses.
Footwear Comfortable footwear is recommended (tennis shoes). You will not be permitted into the lab wearing footwear that exposes any part of the foot.
Eye Eye protection is recommended.
Lab Coat Received the first morning of class.
Gloves Nitrile, Powered-Free gloves are proved.
Included Experience Since 1993 we have provided full body dissection seminars.
Orientation 7:00pm Sunday at the hotel.
Hotel Shuttle Transports guests between the hotel and dissection lab.
