Launch of Business Integration with Fujikura Dia Cable Ltd.

Fujikura Ltd. and Mitsubishi Cable Industries, Ltd. have been operating a wire and cable sales business for construction and electric work by establishing a joint venture company, Fujikura Dia Cable Ltd. (Fujikura's capital ratio: 70%, Mitsubishi's: 30%, hereinafter FDC) since January 2005. Fujikura and Mitsubishi started consolidating their manufacturing and sales operation regarding industrial wire and cable into FDC on April 1, 2016 to strengthen their business by synergy effects through using both companies' strengths.

●Considerable improvement in ease of assembly thanks to much lighter weight than insulation-type product and plug-in system requiring no skills

●Unlike product shrinking at room temperature, no need to worry about faulty installation work (rework)

●Usable in heavily polluted area (estimated salt adhesion amount up to 0.35 mg /cm2) due to use of silicone rubber

Establishment of Fujikura Cube

In November 2015, Fujikura established Fujikura Cube Ltd. to employ persons with disabilities. The company completed employing persons with disabilities, securing staff and constructing facilities and launched its operation with 10 employees on April 1, 2016.Fujikura Cube mainly takes charge of greening on the premises, cleaning the dormitory and company houses and shipping documents. The company will expand its business to some services in the Fujikura Group after gaining approval as a special subsidiary in June.

8th Data Center Expo Spring

Fujikura will be exhibiting at 8th Data Center Expo Spring to be held in May.Focus of the exhibition is on the products and services pertaining to the construction and operation of data centers. We will be presenting solutions consisting of the Fujikura Group's products for data centers under the slogan, "We will become the most trusted partner in the field of Tsunagu (connecting) technologies." As an example of our optical wiring solutions, we will show an economical, efficient MPO optical cabling system that realize the advanced optical network infrastructure sustainable and expandable for 10 years ahead. Furthermore, the Fujikura Group's most advanced technologies for a next generation broadband network will also be on display. In addition, as an IT solution that Fujikura works on, there will be a display of our environmentally-friendly power cable portofolio that is suitable for renewable energy systems. On top of these exhibits, we will present our versatile products to support day-to-day data center operation such as splicers, measurement and test equipment, optical connectors, cleaners and active optical cables (AOCs) along with the photos of them and also demonstrated. We look forward to seeing you at our booth.

Highly expandable with ease of relocation, addition and replacement upon requestEfficient and economical transition to 10 G / 40 G / 100 G in future

Package as small as grain of rice

Fujikura has developed an ultra-small water-proof digital output absolute pressure sensor (the ABS5 series). As this sensor has a waterproof structure, it will find applications in measuring altitude and depth using waterproof electronic equipment for outdoor use. This new product is even smaller than a current analog output absolute pressure sensor (the FPBS series). In terms of functions, the new product digitally outputs accurate pressure and temperature data since it performs a correction calculation of the output signals using its built-in temperature sensor and signal processing circuit. Thanks to these additional functions, this absolute pressure sensor requires no complicated adjustment or corrective calculation on the customer's part and enables easy incorporation into a device. The sales of the product starts in December 2016.
