Fujifilm confirms Germany’s first Onset X3 sale on the stand at drupa 2016
Screen printer from North Rhine-Westphalia boosts capacity with investment in the high-production Onset X3 with Hostert Automation
Fujifilm has confirmed today that leading German screen printer,
Bachmann GmbH has purchased the Inca Digital Onset X3 currently sitting
in pride of place in Fujifilm’s wide format zone on stand A25, Hall 8b.
Once drupa 2016 is over, this high-end ultra-productive flatbed machine –
the first X3 sold in Germany - will be shipped off and installed at
Bachmann’s Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock print production facility.
Established in 1951, Bachmann is an owner-managed firm which has
grown to become one of the most modern and efficient screen and digital
printers in Europe. Currently run by Heinz-Peter Bachmann and Pascal
Bachmann, the company specialises in products for the POS market and a
broad range of backlit products. Bachmann operates two 4-colour screen
machines, one 5-colour screen machine, and an Onset S40i, ordered at
drupa 2012.
Says Bachmann CEO, Heinz-Peter Bachmann: “We’re delighted to have
found in the Onset X3, the perfect machine to add to our portfolio of
printers, and we’re delighted to be expanding on our very successful
partnership with Fujifilm and Inca Digital. This impressive machine is going
to open up a range of new opportunities to us with its strong combination of
substrate versatility, speed and quality. We feel that our future lies
increasingly in high quality, on-demand, lower-volume work, and the Onset
X3 is going to help us to build that future.”
When searching for new digital machine capable of even greater levels of
speed without compromising on quality, Bachmann started the process by
visiting Inca Digital in Cambridge, UK in 2015 in order to inspect the Onset
R40 and R50 platforms. Though impressed with the levels of quality these
machines could deliver, Bachmann was looking for something with an even
higher level of production speed. A subsequent visit to Cambridge in early
2016 following the launch of the Onset X range convinced him that the new
X3 model could provide both the speed and the quality required.
Bachmann has ordered its Onset X3 with full Hostert automation, allowing it
to keep staffing levels to a minimum and maximise profitability. Hostert
automation loads sheets one at a time from an automatic feeder, prints,
then unloads the finished print to a second stack – eliminating the need for
staff to feed and remove sheets manually, thereby freeing up staff time to
be put to more productive uses.
Says Kersten Caspar, Sales Manager, High-End Digital Presses, Fujifilm
Graphic Systems, Germany: “The Onset X3 is unrivalled as a high-
production, high quality flatbed – and we’re very pleased to see the first
German printer recognise its phenomenal potential. We look forward to
continuing our partnership with Bachmann and working with them to build a
successful digital future for their business.”
