Conclusión
Resulta esencial tener en cuenta las relaciones económicas internacionales y el papel que juegan en la relación sociedad–naturaleza a la hora de valorar la sostenibilidad ecológica;
así cómo a la hora de pensar en transiciones hacia sociedades que no se sostengan sobre la dominación y el deterioro de territorios y poblaciones alejados.

Conclusión
Además, es que si tenemos en cuenta la existencia de límites biofísicos de lo que nos percatamos es de que las relaciones económicas internacionales, y en particular el comercio internacional, se parecen más a un juego de suma cero: potencial productivo (en el sentido de energía disponible incorporada en los RRNN) que se exporta desde la periferia, se acumula en el centro en un proceso que se auto-refuerza a través de la acumulación de infraestructura industrial y economías de escala que mejoran los términos de intercambio para poder incrementar la capacidad de apropiación de tiempo y espacio.
