Decision to complete a Ft. Tuthill County Park Master Plan 2011

CCP&R Staff, stakeholders input, consultant draws up plan through Summer of 2012

Coconino County Board of Supervisors approves the Ft. Tuthill Master Plan, January 2013- including a Mountain Bike Skills Park!

It was the 1970s, nobody wore helmets then…

Now

FBO/CCP&R Agreement on the construction of the Park (pending)

FBO has hired IMBA Trail Solutions, with matching funding from IMBA Trail Building Fund to formulate a site plan and budget for phases of construction of the Park.

IMBA Trail Solutions Role at this point

IMBA TS will be taking all of our input.

They will generate a site plan (map) and budget.

The plan will be in phases so that we can seek funding to build in “bite-size” chunks.

FBO Role in the Park   FBO is not an employer, land owner or building contractor.

FBO to find funding to hire contractors like IMBA Trail Solutions, Alpine Bike Parks, Gravity Logic to do the design and subcontracting necessary to build the Park according to the plan that IMBA Trail Solutions is creating.

FBO to hire contractors to “design and build” each phase of the Park.

Designs will need to be approved by County engineers.

Long term role may include the recruiting of volunteers for the County to do maintenance.

FUNDING!

We will need lots of money! (as much as $200,000-$500,000)

If you are willing to contribute smallish amounts, we will be putting up “Go Fund Me” type campaigns for the phases, stay tuned.

If you are willing to contribute larger amounts, we will have a structured means of recognizing individuals and businesses. (Signage, recognition on FBO’s web site, etc.) FBO is a 501 C3.

If you are aware of granting organizations or foundations, please connect us with them.

Please join FBO!

Paid memberships …   Fill in the gaps in keeping our organization going

Help with seed money for projects like this

Give us clout with land managers

They do not pay FBO Board members or volunteers

  Membership cards, online at http://www.flagstaffbiking.org

Site Description

  Mild slope

  About 7 acres

  Roughly rectangular

  Just north of Flagstaff Extreme

Not really conducive to “downhill” style designs

BUT, plenty of options for some flow trails, dirt jumps, etc.

Questions?

Input Sessions   Make sure you have filled out the online survey!

Computers available tonight to log your input. (No need if you have already done this online.)

IMBA & FBO will be compiling input towards prioritization of projects

Not every single idea will be incorporated, but we will do our best   Survey results will also be shared with the US Forest Service, Arizona Snow

Bowl and the City of Flagstaff for incorporation into potential and current planning for downhill trails and parks.

Draw your layout ideas on the maps   If you have strong ideas, work alone or with your friends
