Some are starting to sell gas too, at prices up to 10 cents cheaper than their competitors, per gallon! If you’re a member, take advantage and fill up while you get your club-sized laundry detergent, toilet paper and box of cereal! On Tuesday, our frugal living friendly cleaning how-to was all about learning how to clean your toaster. Keeping the toaster clean and crumb-free is a great way to extend the life of this kitchen appliance so you don’t have to replace it long before you should need to. It’s easy to clean a toaster but there are some important steps you need to know— check it out at Thrift Culture Now! Wednesday’s food tip talked about why it’s important to regularly check the expiration dates on the foods in your pantry and refrigerator. Anyone who’s serious about frugal living needs to reduce waste wherever they can, so make this a regular habit and save your money. Yes folks, it’s that time of year again: time to do a little routine furnace maintenance. To make sure your furnace is operating properly and you’re not paying more than you should in energy bills, it’s essential that you clean your furnace’s filter and/or have a professional come and do a routine check up on your heating system. A little time and money spent now could mean a winter full of savings. Lastly, on Friday we shared some proven natural remedies for psoriasis. This is a rather common skin condition but the irritating symptoms associated with this condition can be easily managed with a few natural remedies. In particular, if you suffer from psoriasis you should determine whether or not it’s a food allergy that’s causing your flare-ups and eliminate those foods from your diet if it is. Other great home cures are to clean the affected areas with tea tree oil because it’s a gentle cleanser that will kill the bad bacteria without over-drying. Increasing the amount of Omega-3’s in your diet will also help control your psoriasis.
