Camera shots Immediately as the extract began a establishing

shot was use through master shots and wide shots to show the area that they were filming in a show to the viewer the real army camps

Two shots were used during a interview while a observation of a injured solider took place this shows to the audience there isn't any time to not be at work in the army no time to stop.

At times the camera was hand held to show to the viewer this was the real side to what happens in the army you don’t have time to set up camera shots etc..

Edit During the extract I saw a number of cuts being used

making it basic when moving to another scene, a serious documentary like this is not the sort where you should use transitions as the viewer just wants to see what is happening straight away without waiting for the time of a transition.

A number of short takes were used to show the rushed lifestyle in the army when taking care of injured soliders you are always on the move to try and help them as quick as possible

Long takes were also used during the establishing shot, reason being is so that the audience had time to take the location in and analyse into the living area for the people who go and fight for our country abroad.

Sound Immediately we were introduced to the

diegetic sound of gun shots to show the danger of where the soldiers are fighting, it also shows that it never starts slow as soon as you get to the battlefield you experience war.

Music is used during the extract mostly to sadden to mood for example during the gun shots music is added in with it using sound mixing to show how what is happening is not good.

Mise-en-scene The typical army costume is used to show

what sort of uniform the soldiers have to wear in their day to day life, this is wore weather you are a solider, medic etc.

The location really gives you a insight to the sort of life the solider live and lets the audience understand what a real army camp looks like compared to how they imagined it or how it has been stereotypically shown to them.

opinionLikesI liked this documentary as it showed you call the detail and didn’t leave it out e.g. you saw a solider with his legs blown of by a bomb this shows to the audience the realness of what happens in the army and shows them what really happensdislikes Some of the images during the documentry were a bit explicit and gory which may put some people of watching.
