PSNA was proud to premier the independent study for RNs, “When Nurses Hurt Nurses Workbook” during the Spring Summit. This Workbook is a collaboration between PSNA, Dr. Cheryl Dellasega and Sigma Theta Tau International. Purchase at www.psna.org/workbook.

PA State Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Nursing is viewed as the most trusted and caring profession and yet nurse-on-nurse bullying is a reality. Not only does it affect morale and professional self-esteem, but it jeopardizes patient care. The When Nurses Hurt Nurses Workbook provides guidance on recognizing relationally aggressive behaviors, diffusing confrontational situations and applying interpersonal communication skills. Dr. Cheryl Dellasega equips nurses with tools to recognize relational aggression and promote change. Learning Activities enhance the reader’s application of these tools. By the end of this workbook, nurses will find their “a-ha” moment. This is an essential resource in creating a safer, more respectful workplace.

2013

This year, millions of Americans will be able to find health insurance that fits their budgets and meets their needs, with less hassle, at the new Health Insurance Marketplace, a part of the health care law. The Market-place will offer a new way to shop for coverage that will provide access to better options and better health.

The best place to go to prepare for the Marketplace, to learn about what it is, how to get covered, and more, is the updated HealthCare.gov. Starting on October 1, eligible individuals, families and small businesses will be able to visit one place to search for health coverage options, to get accurate information in easy to understand language, and to make apples-to-apples before they make a plan choice. No matter where they live, Ameri-cans will be able to find health plans on the Marketplace that cover a comprehensive set of benefits, and they cannot be denied coverage based on a pre-existing condition. Coverage starts as soon as January 1, 2014.

The best source of the latest and most accurate information on the Marketplace is HealthCare.gov. The site now has new resources, videos, and checklists to help everyone prepare for the Marketplace. Additionally, with the opening of a new call center (1-800-318-2596), consumers can speak with a trained customer service rep-resentative 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Representatives will be available in English and Spanish, and there will be a language line to assist callers in over 150 additional languages.

Beginning October 1, HealthCare.gov will be the place to go to directly access the Health Insurance Market-place. Consumers will only need to fill out a single application to choose from the health plans available in their area; to learn if they qualify for programs like Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program; or to find out if they qualify for lower costs on monthly premiums or out-of-pocket costs. Assistance, including online web chat, at the toll free number, or through trained, unbiased, professionals who will be working in communities, will also be available. Learn more today at HealthCare.gov.
