The trade legislation of the USA called “Super 301” against Japan asked to open the market such as satellites for application of government programs

Space development activities between the USA and Japan have been based on the friendship and cooperation such with the development of the INTELSAT system

A venue for a wide range of people-to-people communication where individuals from the industry, government and academia get together and exchange ideas and thoughts frankly for serving as a safety valve in space exploration

JUSTSAP ( established in 1990 )

JUSTSAP has played a valuable role in establishing an unfettered international proposal group on the science, technology and space programs assembling experts from both public and private sectors in Japan and United States plus Canada, Europe and other nationalities.

What’s Changed Since 1990 • Now there are many countries with active space programs. • Of the countries with current missions, five are located around the

Pacific Rim. • There are scores of entrepreneurial space companies, tourism is

building and prizes are being offered for commercial missions. • The Space Station’s life will be extended to 2020 and perhaps 2025,

offering ample opportunity for microgravity, commercial and space exploration projects.

Now, from

SHIMOJI AIRPORT UTILIZATION PLANS Non-decision on the use of Shimoji Airport (used as a training base by Japanese

commercial airlines) and surrounding land of some 550 hectares after the fiscal 2015 Okinawa Prefecture officials announced that they would accept plans for the land from companies both in and out of Japan; Applications have been accepted until the end of 2014, and now be gathered 10 proposals.

Shimoji airport is the best civil airport in the region, equipped with a 3,000- meter-long, 60-meter-wide runway, a 30-meter-wide taxiway and other necessary facilities and installations.

Nine years in the making, a new bridge connecting Miyako and Irabu Islands is set to open on 31st of January, 2015.

IRENA: International Re-Entry demoNstrator Action http://www.irena-project.eu

IRENA mainly aims at: - creating a cluster of European and international stakeholders to study two types of demonstrators aimed at developing entry/re-entry technologies and suitable for other enabling technologies - jointly defining two technology demonstrator projects relevant for international cooperation - contributing to a European position for ISEF and - disseminating the results and preparing the next steps.

LEO Debris (NASA model)

LEO is the most concentrated area for orbital debris

GEO Debris (NASA model)

GEO images generated from a distant oblique vantage point to provide a good view of the object populat imagesion in the geosynchronous region (around 35,785 km altitude).

Continue to populate the Space Debris Catalog through the use of space and ground based sensors, both optical and RF and discover a means by which to remove or neutralize non-functional objects in LEO and GEO
