Water Polo Tournaments St Peter’s (Old Petrian’s) U19 Girls Water Polo Tournament Two Reddam House senior Girls teams participated in the St Peter’s U19 tournament last weekend:

Reddam U19A results: The Girls 1st team won 4 of their 6 pool matches. Unfortunately this resulted in the team finishing 4th in their group due to a 3-way tie. The team then went on to play Alex Road and won that game 8-0, which put them through to the semi-finals for the bowl trophy against Roedean. A convincing 10-2 win confirmed their place in the Bowl final against Westerford which they went on to win 7–2. Congratulations to coach Grant Mackenzie for his unwavering support of the team who came back fighting after a disappointing pool result.

Reddam U19B results: This young tenacious team coached by Jesse Singer and managed by Mrs Winkworth, had a remarkable tournament. They won 4 of their pool matches and lost 2, finishing second in their group. They went on to face Stirling in the quarter finals and only lost by 4 goals - Stirling in fact went on to win the tournament! This team played with heart and determination and we are exceptionally proud that they were placed in tie 5th position out of 28 participating schools!

Shaun Fuchs U15 Girls Water Polo Tournament The U15 Girls won all five of their pool matches, finishing first in their group. They then went on to play St. Mary's in the quarter finals, winning 4-3 and so progressed through to the semi-finals. In this tough encounter, they defeated Westerford 3–1 to earn themselves a place in the final against Herschel. Unfortunately they lost this match 3-8 but we are exceptionally proud that they took home the silver medal. Further congratulations to Hannah Schubert and Hannah Catto who were selected for the tournament team! Thank you to Mr Logan and Mrs Seymour Hall for the part they played in the teams’ success!

Thomas Greenwood was selected to represent the Western Cape Disa B Tennis team that participated in a tour to Mazikama last weekend. The team played in Moorreesburg against Swartland on Friday. The match was incredibly tough but the players fought hard and walked away with the victory by one match. The team then played Matzikama in Lutzville/Vredendal on Saturday where they beat their opponents 23 - 11. Thomas won all his singles matches and two out of the four doubles matches.

Well done, Thomas!
