Chapter Ten:Are We Done Yet?

Page 2: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Welcome back to From the Ground Up, where generation three are still in uni because it takes FOREVER – hence the name of the chapter!

Last time there was a lot of flirting and kissing and falling in love. Also a lot of dancing. The group are doing their best to spread the hula around!

Now let’s get them graduated!

Page 3: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

We rejoin the family to find Poppy doing the hula. Of course. What else did you expect?

Page 4: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

I think Fern might be the only sim not caught up in the hula craze, and that’s only because she so busy with her video games.

She finally found a way of gaming that doesn’t swallow simoleans, too.

Page 5: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

That said, Erin doesn’t like to dance the hula either. But she does dance. And stay in the background a lot, actually. I don’t think any of her antics made it into the last update.

The boys are into the hula as much as everyone else is, though. You know, I’m hoping I get some boys in the main house this generation!

Page 6: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“They all dance! I might be out of a job!”

There’s no need for the gym coach at all. She still yelled at Belle and Eric before leaving, though.

Page 7: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

A glitch happened where one of the dormies didn’t move out when the final wave arrived, and Erin drew the short straw and actually has no room.

The poor girl sleeps on the sofa, or in Charlie’s bed if he’s not using it.

Page 8: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

The next day, as a distraction from the dancing epidemic, Poppy invites over her beloved slob, Samuel.

Poppy greeted him with a kiss…

Page 9: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

…and he greeted Poppy with a burp.

“Really? Right after we kissed?”

“At least I waited until afterwards!”

Page 10: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

A cow-llama fight then distracted the lovebirds from each other, the same cow Fern was trying to flirt with in the last update.

And in case you’re wondering, llamas won.

Page 11: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

The victorious llama then hung around to disrupt the background of pictures and occasionally cheer. Which sort of ruined Poppy’s proposal to Samuel.

“She wants to marry you, dude! Can I get an L? O? V? E? LOOOOOVE!”

“Is that true, Poppy? You want to marry me?”

“Of course!”

Page 12: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

The llama stopped being quite so annoying when the ring was on Samuel’s finger.

“This is the nicest thing I’ve ever owned, Poppy. I hope I don’t lose it.”

“You’ll be fine,” She told him, “So…will you marry me?”

Page 13: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“Of course I will.”

Page 14: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

The moment was then ruined by a streaker, which both Eric and Charlie thought was terrifying. University is no place for beautiful engagements.

Page 15: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

After the excitement of Poppy’s engagement, life went back to normal. And by normal, I mean Fern was playing games.

Poppy wasn’t as delighted about it.

“FERN! THAT WAS NEARLY MY HEAD!”

Page 16: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

It’s times like this that Poppy reminds me of her grandfather, Dorian.

Page 17: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“Don’t play the game if you can’t handle it, sis.”

Have I mentioned I love Fern? Well, I love all of them really, but Fern is the only one who lets her mean streak show. Belle hides hers and Poppy is ridiculously nice.

Page 18: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Samuel did hang around after getting engaged, but he was mostly doing things like this.

“Hang loose, lady!”

“Nice try, but you definitely need to work on it. I could teach you.”

Poor Samuel – everyone already knows how to hang loose!

Page 19: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Outside, Fern had found someone else to play games with.

“No fair, Fern, you’re cheating!”

“How can I cheat at rock, paper, scissors?”

“I don’t know but you’re doing it!”

“You and Poppy are just sore losers. I’m going back to throwing change in the arcade machine.”

Page 20: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

FINALLY. This puts Poppy in her final semester.

Also, they would like to inform you that Eric is a popularity sim.

Page 21: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

And to celebrate almost-being-graduated, Poppy went on a date with Samuel. She needs 50 dream dates to be permaplat, and I have no idea what number I’m up to.

So any excuse to go date is welcomed.

Page 22: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“You’re paying, right? The lady who seated us said my money’s no good here.”

Well, Poppy looks like she’s fearing the worst, but it turns out Samuel is a cheap date. All he wanted was some mac and cheese.

Page 23: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

And then to gross out the hostess with their PDA.

All in all, it was a good date.

Page 24: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

The next day, a genie lamp appeared on the doorstep. I didn’t really know what to do with it, so Poppy pocketed it for usage later.

Page 25: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“Oh man, this IS fun! I can so see why Fern does this all the time now!”

Great. Another sim spending the household funds.

Page 26: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Another day passes, and Samuel invites Poppy out on another date. He just can’t get enough of her company – probably because she pays most of the time.

But they are good together.

Page 27: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

I think Mrs Crumplebottom disagrees with me on that, though.

“You’re engaged but not married so stop kissing!”

“What is your deal, old lady?!”

Page 28: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

After being beaten by an elderly woman, Poppy rolled the want to try the dance sphere.

It can only end well, right?

Page 29: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Well.

At least she gave it a go, right?

Page 30: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Nothing cures dance sphere injuries quite like the hula!

You may also have noticed that Fern doesn’t like to change out of her PJs. She hasn’t worn her everyday clothes once in this entire update.

Page 31: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Look, Samuel did it again! Skipped out on his half of the bill, but treated Poppy to an expensive new toy.

Which will now fund the video gaming habit.

Page 32: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“Hey, Belle, I think pink shoes would REALLY set off your outfit!”

“Really, Eric? And what do you know about fashion? You’re constantly in your pyjamas!”

Eric and Fern are agreed on the benefits of wearing PJs constantly.

Page 33: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

And FINALLY my heiress graduates!

We’ll be back to ordinary towering madness before you know it!

Page 34: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Poppy looks as happy as I feel about graduating finally!

I’m not planning to play university again for AT LEAST three generations.

Page 35: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

I then took some pictures to commemorate the occasion.

This is the last time I’ll have all three girls under the same roof, and that makes me kind of sad – they’ve been a blast to play together.

Page 36: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

And of course Jazz and Jim came to see their baby graduate.

Keika pointed out that you can see what Poppy took from each of her parents in this picture.

Page 37: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“Really? They came to my graduation to make out everywhere!”

Page 38: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Outside, Fern was getting harassed by the Gym Coach.

“And another thing-”

“You know what, lady? Either join the party or leave, I don’t have time for this.”

Page 39: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Family hula time!

Uncle Beat turned out to be one of Poppy’s closest friends, but not her Aunt Cube, strangely enough.

Page 40: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Poppy grew up into an outfit that’s alright, but not very Poppy, if you get what I mean.

Also, you can see the Gym Coach did end up joining the party.

Page 41: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

And FINALLY, we are back at the tower!

Page 42: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

With all of its insane glory! I have no idea who let that guy in!

Also, Poppy is phoning up someone very important…

Page 43: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Of course it’s Samuel. He moves in straight away because I want generation four and another floor to the tower.

Page 44: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Samuel Cormier moves in with a whopping fourteen bucks. No doubt that’s all he has left after treating Poppy to widescreen TVs and whatnot.

He has a personality of 0/5/0/5/6 which will no doubt make for some interesting tower antics.

Page 45: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Jim gets started straightaway on Poppy’s portrait. These will hang above the stereo on the third floor – each heir’s portrait hangs on their floor, afterall.

Page 46: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Meanwhile, Poppy and Samuel are being cute.

I wonder if those alien eyes will last another generation.

Page 47: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Later on, Samuel gets a guided tour of the tower from his mother-in-law-to-be.

“And this is our dog, Dash.”

“He doesn’t seem to like me. He can probably smell the cat on me.”

“Oh, you used to own a cat?”

“No, I used to snuggle up to the strays in the alleyway.”

Page 48: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Poppy is in charge of Samuel’s portrait.

I’m really excited for this generation, and I can’t wait to see the kids. I’m also hoping for some boys this generation – I’ve had all female heirs so far!

Page 49: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Wedding day, and Poppy’s guests demonstrate why towers are not fit for partying in. This is the ONLY angle I could get to show you, as well.

I keep making the stairwell wider to try and avoid these crowds, but it just means more sims can stand in the way.

Page 50: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Now this is my first ever wedding with the Celebration Stuff pack, so I really went to town with all of the new stuff.

Prepare for a spam of prettiness!

Page 51: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10
Page 52: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10
Page 53: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Obviously, the ceremony went off without a hitch. Except the fact the chairs had to be back further than I remember them being. It must have been that long ago since I last played a big wedding!

Page 54: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

“You guys can stop clapping now, it’s time for cake!”

“Woo, cake! More applause!”

I feel like the answer to this question is going to be obvious, but is Samuel a cake shover?

Page 55: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Of course he is! I expected no less of him, really.

Page 56: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

I then noticed the little vegetable patch at the back of the tower was in a right state, and set Poppy about sorting it out.

So she spent her wedding day dealing with pests.

She does not look happy about it, understandably.

Page 57: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Meanwhile, Jazz and Jim sneak away from the main party – which consists of eating large amounts of cake on the ground floor – to dance together.

Which I think is absolutely adorable.

Page 58: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

Eventually, the guests left, Poppy finished the garden, and the newly-weds finally had some time together.

Generation four is officially on its way!

Page 59: From the Ground Up: Chapter 10

But that will have to wait until next time.

See you soon!
