3rd Sunday of Easter
April 15, 2018
FROM THE DESK OF MONSIGNOR HEITING
WE ALSO STAND AS WITNESSES… In Saint Luke’s gospel for the Third Sunday of Easter, Jesus appears to the disciples yet again to bring them hope and reassurance. He even eats a piece of baked fish in front of them to prove that He is not a ghost. After Jesus did this, He proceeded to open the minds of the disciples to the true meaning of Sacred Scripture. As the Lord concluded, He said to these men: “You are witnesses of these things.” The disciples witnessed the passion, death, and resurrection of the Lord. They continued to be astounded at what the Lord was doing. By our lives of faith, we too stand as witnesses to these things. May our amazement also know no bounds!
PARISH CLUSTER WISHES… Our prayers and best wishes to a number of our parishioners from all 3 parishes who are struggling with health concerns at this time. May Jesus as the Divine Physician bring you comfort and strength! Congratulations to Justin and Amy (Poepping) Swenson on the baptism of their son, Colt Henry Swenson, on April 15, 2018 at Saint Anthony Parish in Westbrook. Thank you to all parishioners from
Saint Gabriel Parish in Fulda who were willing to place their names in nomination to fill council and committee vacancies.
On Friday April 20th the parish office will be closed. If Msgr. Heiting can be of assistance
that day please call 507-458-5702

FAITH FORMATION
CONFIRMATION
NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, April 18, 7 p.m.
at St. Gabriel’s. During this meeting, we will be
discussing the signs and symbols of associated
with the Sacraments; particularly Confirmation.
During our last session, we talked about “Forms
of Prayers”
~ If anyone in the parish is curious to know ‘what
form of prayer’ is best suited for your personality, I
have an enlightening survey you could take. Are
you a mystic? A sage? A prophet? A lover?
Hmmmmm …. It might be fun to find out ~ Ask a
Confirmation student or sponsor what form of
prayer best suites them! Stop by my office, or give
Nico your email and I’ll send you a copy!

Respect Life~ Pornography has become increasingly more available and accepted in today’s society. Both men and women
of all ages have become entangled in the lies and pain of pornography use and even addiction, which has devastating effects on the user and his or her spouse and family. It is important that those who are using pornography and those that are affected by a spouse’s receive the support and healing that they need. To learn more, see www.foryourmarriage.org. Click on For Your Marriage, then Overcoming Obstacles and then Pornography for articles and resources. Another great resource is through the Diocese of Winona. Go to www.dow.org, then Marriage, Life, & Family, and lastly, Men’s Ministries.
