Would you believe that Christmas is just around the corner? This year has really gone by fast! Christmas time is probably the most joy filled time of the year. Most people are kind and thoughtful. Most people are thinking of celebrating friendships and sharing of love. All those are great aspirations. But we need to remember that all this has come about through the birth of Christ! At the first Christmas day the angels sang with great joy. When we worship God at Christmas, we remember His love for us. And it truly and easily brings us a great joy. This joy is spread to our relatives and friends, increasing both our and their joy. The singular joy knowing through our contemplation of God’s great love for us gives the initiative and strength to pour out God’s first given love on all the people around us. May God’s love be in your mind and heart these days and always! Merry Christmas!! SHARE FOUNDATION WITH THE HANDICAPPED P.O. THOUGHTS FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORBy Kathleen Kelly

Recently I was taking a couple around Sharing Meadows, showing them the grounds, the homes, and introducing them to thepeople who live here. As we drove around, they kept saying, “it’s so peaceful!” and I had to agree with them that, yes, SharingMeadows is a peaceful place. After all, we have gently rolling hills, restful waters on two lakes, thousands of trees, wildlife dartingin and out of the woods and the sounds of birds but the greatest peace radiates from within the people who call it home.

Our villagers and stewards live, eat, work, and play together but more importantly, they pray together and through that prayer, theyfoster a sense of peace deep within their hearts that spills out into the community. They are there for each other to lend a helpinghand or a word of encouragement and always with unconditional love. They don’t expect anything in return, it’s just one friendhelping another. Their gift of loving unconditionally and accepting people for who they are is precious and adds to the tranquilityof Sharing Meadows.

During this Christmas season we are inundated with talk about peace on earth but, sadly, so much of it is just that, talk, not agenuine attempt to work at bringing peace to the world. In our society Christmas has become so commercialized, the stores aredecorated before Thanksgiving and every advertisement you see pushes you to buy, buy, buy that perfect gift. What does a fancydecoration or a Christmas present have to do with peace on earth? The villagers realize that in order to have peace on earth it mustbegin with each of us treating each other with kindness and with love.

Each morning at our prayer service the villagers pray for world peace. While they may not fully understand just how harsh theworld can be they do know that their life and their home is peaceful and they want everyone to know the peace that they experiencehere at Sharing Meadows. They want the Christmas message of peace on earth and good will towards others to be truly heard andfelt by everyone just the way God intended the world to be.

May the Christmas message of peace on earth and good will towards all be with all of you!

22ND SHARE OUR DREAMS GALAThe 22nd Share Our Dreams Gala held on November 4th at the Center for Visual &Performing Arts was a delightful evening of fine dining, delicious food, livelymusic and wonderful people!
