From The Chair! By Kisha McLain The first quarter of 2016 is already over! ASQ Charlotte has hosted two events which were well attended by our Section Members. In February 2016, we had a sold-out tour of the Snyder’s Lance facility in Charlotte, NC. The tour attendees were impressed by how Snyders- Lance continues to drive quality and operational excellence to make a positive impact on a bottom line. There is no wonder this company has been in business over 100 years. In March 2016, Mike Davis, President of Results 110, shared on Performance Excellence with an emphasis on Strategic Planning. His presentation the highlighted the importance of moving from internally focused objectives to customer focused one to gain the most impact. What’s happening in the 2 nd Quarter? On April 12 th , our monthly meeting will be a tour of the Cyril Bath facility in Monroe, NC. Hopefully, you have already registered as this event is almost sold out. On April 20 th , the ASQ Charlotte Section is hosting a workshop on the new ISO 9001:2015 standard. The training is being done by local expert, John Lynch, with PQI Consulting. Take advantage of the low price of $499 for ASQ members. This is just one way that ASQ Charlotte is bringing value to our members. Most importantly, on May 6, 2016, ASQ Charlotte will host the 10 th Annual Quality Conference of the Carolinas. Dr. Joseph DeFeo with Juran Global has agreed to be the keynote speaker. He is nationally known to many quality professionals. His mentor was Dr. Joe Juran (they co-authored a number of books). For those of you who have not heard him speak, you are really in for a treat. I look forward to meeting you in person at our meeting on April 12th. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] with your ideas and inputs for future programs.
