From the Acting Headmaster MR M RICH I received a phone call this week from the Principal of Maris Stella School. She phoned to compliment the school on the Prefects who went to her school on Valentine’s Day. They were particularly impressed with the manners and behaviour of our boys. Well done, gentlemen, we are proud of you. Congratulations to all involved in the Championship Gala and thank you to the organisers. It was good to see the competitive spirit amongst the swimmers. Full results can be seen on the inner pages of this newsletter. We will be hosting the D&D Gala next week. The Grade 9s and some Grade 10s will be expected to cheer our team on. A belated congratulations to Ms Hean on her engagement over the December holidays. Unfortunately our server has been down this week making correspondence difficult. Our computer service provider company is aware of the problems and are working towards finding a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime please phone of send a note with your son. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. It was with great sadness that we learned of the tragic passing of Old Boy, Shalen Mudaly in a horrific car accident on Saturday night. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this time. From the Counsellor’s Desk MR RICH ([email protected])

Welcome to 2018 at Northwood. Living in a dynamic society demands resilience, confidence and aptitude. Our goal here at Northwood is to create a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment that serves as a platform for your boys to work through the challenges of adolescence, discovering their strengths and working through their weaknesses. Promoting the holistic well-being of the learners requires empathy, flexibility and creativity. In supporting this vision, the counselling team is available throughout school hours, including breaks and approved lesson time with any one of our three counsellors: Mr Rich (HOD), Mrs Reddy and Mrs Butt. All learners and family members welcome.
