The Global Waste Index (GWI) showsthata14.2%reductionwasachievedthreeyearsago,despite a5.2%increaseinproductionvolume.

Toxics Release Inventory (USEPA TRI): TRIreportschemicalreleasesfornearly650chemicalsintheUnitedStatesandshowsthatNalcohas reduced emissions to water by morethan60%overthelasteightyears,includinga10.7%reductionafewyearsback.

Greenhouse gas emissions (GHG): NalcohascommittedtoreduceGHGemissionsfromitsplantsby

18%(asaratioofgasemissionstoproduction)by2012.Overthelasteight years, our total emissions havedecreasedby1.3%despiteaproductionincreaseof17%.

Energy consumption: During the pastfiveyearswehavereducedour energy consumption per unit ofproductionbyjustover3%,de-spitea17%increaseinproductionvolume.Aspartofourcommitmenttoimprovingourenvironmentalperformance, our manufacturing plants around the world are under-goingacomprehensiveprogramofaccreditationtotheenvironmentalmanagementstandardISO14001.
