Joint news for ST. PAUL’S & ST. JOSEPH’S
Thursday: April 21st:
The voice of the Good Shepherd is heard in every act
of compassion, in every expression of mercy and
forgiveness, in every sacrifice made for the sake of another. To hear the Good Shepherd demands that we let ourselves emerge from the isolation of our own
grief and fears, our resentments and expectations, to hear Christ speaking in the plight of the poor, the needs of the helpless, the cry of the persecuted.
Easter faith calls us to put aside our own crosses when we hear the voice of Jesus in the struggle of those being crushed by the weight of their crosses,
to rise above our own pain when we hear the voice of Jesus crying in the pain of others, to give from our treasure when we hear the voice of Jesus in the
poverty of others.

Sunday April 17 is World Day of Prayer for
Vocations.
The purpose of the World Day of Prayer for
Vocations is to publicly fulfill the Lord's
instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).
As a climax to a prayer that is continually offered throughout
the Church, it affirms the primacy of faith and grace in all that
concerns vocations to the priesthood and to the consecrated
life.

Evangelization Starts with Our Own Relationship with
Jesus
The spread of the Gospel is not guaranteed either by the
number of persons, or by the prestige of the institution, or
by the quantity of available resources. What counts is to be
permeated by the love of Christ, to let oneself be led by the
Holy Spirit and to graft one’s own life onto the tree of life,
which is the Lord’s Cross.— Homily, Mass with Seminarians and Novices, July 7, 2013

Discovering Christ is for anyone and everyone, from the baptized in
the pews to the unbaptized person who has never entered a church.
Discovering Christ helps participants enter into or renew a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ, experience the love of God the Father,
and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live as God’s children.
Please, prayerfully consider supporting our
ChristLife Ministry by joining us on this amazing journey!
We’ll need the help & participation of
many people in order to have a blessed
outcome. Come as a Guest, or help out
by joining the Team. How can your
God-given gifts and talents be shared at
Discovering Christ?
Here I Am, Lord!
Prayer Warriors:
Discovering Christ, like all Church
ministries, relies on God's infinite
help and the presence of the Holy
Spirit. An essential element to
reaching the goal of Discovering
Christ is Prayer. DC’s goal is to help
participants enter into or renew a
personal relationship with Jesus
Christ. This ministry can be done in
your personal and/or community
prayer time such as at Daily Mass,
Rosaries, Sunday Mass, private
prayer time, etc.
Chairperson: Joan Herr
Yes, that’s right… FREE dinners every
week! We’ll be making the dinners.
Dinner Helpers will set up the food on
the serving tables and then serve each
person as they move down the line.
They will also make coffee and keep
pitchers of water full at each table.
At the end of dinner, they will clean
up the serving area and assist with
clearing the tables. Dessert will be
prepared by placing portions on paper
plates/bowls and setting them on the
serving tables at dessert time.
Clean up after dessert time includes
cleaning the coffee pot and other
drink containers.
Chairperson: Celeste Snyderman
Dinner Helpers:
This ministry is all about sharing
your love of baking with others.
Even if you do not participant in the
course, prayerfully consider helping
out by preparing and sharing a
dessert of your choice for one or
more of the weekly sessions.
Bakers will work directly with the

way to be involved if you’re not
available every week or for an entire
session.
