UP wants ‘baba’, not ‘bua’ or ‘babua’: Rajnath in JaunpurFirst India Bureau

Jaunpur: Defence Min-ister Rajnath Singh here on Saturday said Uttar Pradesh does not want “bua or babua”, apparently referring to BSP supremo Mayawati and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. The state wants only “baba”, he added referring to Yogi Adity-anath at a convention of BJP booth presidents here, just months ahead of the UP Assembly polls.

On the occasion, Ra-jnath also slammed the Congress, accusing it of not taking any strict measure to check ter-

rorism after the Mum-bai attack on November 26 in 2008. “The state does not want ‘bua’ and ‘babua’. It only wants ‘baba’,” he said address-ing BJP workers. About the Congress, he said its

senior leader Manish Tewari has written in his book that his party’s government did not take the required action after the Mumbai at-tack. “After our govt was formed, terrorism

is completely under control. Terrorists are being killed on the bor-der,” Rajnath claimed. He also praised the ten-ure of Yogi for develop-ment, employment gen-eration, social harmony and crime-free environ-ment. On this occasion, Adityanath said people should not forget the el-ements responsible for the Partition of the country. These are the same people who at-tacked the faith through riots when they were in power before 2017. They had hindered the devel-opment of the state by spreading corruption,” he alleged.

Lucknow: The film policy of UP drew a lot of appreciation at the International Film Fes-tival of India-2021 being held in Goa, which was inaugurated by famous filmmakers, directors Randhir Kapoor and Rahul Rawail. Inaugurating the stall of the film Band-hu, famous film direc-tor Randhir Kapoor praised Yogi Adity-anath and said “ it is because of his strong film policy that all the producers, directors are getting attracted to-wards UP.” The film policy of the UP govt is being promoted through booklets, fold-ers and LEDs at the stalls of Film Bandhu set up. It may be re-called that the famous film director Karan Jo-har was also impressed by the film policy of UP. Anchoring the inaugu-ral event, he said “if you shoot a film in Luc-know, Kanpur and Var-anasi of UP, then the stories emerge auto-matically.

‘No riots, farmer suicides after the BJP came to power’

‘Oppn leaders put even chameleon to shame’

First India Bureau

Lucknow: Launching a scathing attack on the opposition parties, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Satur-day exhorted people to not fall for their prom-ises as they keep changing their state-ments. He claimed that there had been no riot, farmer suicides, or deaths due to star-vation after BJP came to power in the state. The CM said this while laying the foundation stone of an ethanol plant, to be set up on 65.61 acres of land at Balrampur Sugar Mills Complex, Mai-japur, at a cost of Rs 450 crore.

He said similar works for the state’s development could have been done earlier also, but the previous govt engaged in nepo-tism instead and mis-led people. Who had stopped Congress? Who had stopped ‘Babua’ and ‘Bua’ (Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati)? They had got full opportunity to work, but during their tenures work was done not for development but for ‘bhai-bhati-jawaad’ (family and relatives), caste and region,” the UP CM pointed out.

He said,”There was dishonesty, corrup-tion, and riots. Do not

fall for their mislead-ing talk. They change their statements with such frequency, it can put even a chameleon to shame.” The CM raked up yet against Akhilesh’s ‘Jinnah’ comment to say that those who believe in the founder of Paki-stan engaged in at-tacking faith and “in-stigate riots” in their tenure. “Rioters, who are followers of Jin-nah, how can they un-

derstand the sweet-ness of sugarcane,” he said targeting special-ly Akhilesh Yadav.

He also accused the former UP CM of withdrawing cases against “terrorists” playing vote bank poli-tics. “Remember, the cases on terrorists who attacked the birthplace of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram were shameless-ly withdrawn by the previous govt. Thanks

to the Allahabad High Court who did not al-low this intention of the previous govern-ment to succeed,” Yogi said. In 2013, the then SP-ruled UP govt had issued an order for withdrawal of cases against Ayodhya se-rial blast accused as it believed them to be “innocent Muslims” implicated in false cases. The order was stayed by the Alla-habad Court.

UP WITNESSED RIOTS UNDER SP RULE, SEEING ‘DANGAL’ NOW: ANURAG THAKURTargeting Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Union minister and BJP leader Anurag Thakur on Saturday said there were “dange” (riots) in Uttar Pradesh under the SP rule whereas “dangal” (wrestling matches) are being organised now. The minister attended the ‘Sansad Khel Mahakumbh’ organised in Baraut in Baghpat district of the poll-bound state. Address-ing the event, he said, “If we are giving the youth a chance to progress in sports, then what is the harm. Akhilesh Yadav complaining that these MPs organise ‘Khel Mahakumbh’. Brother Akhilesh, you orchestrate riots and we organise ‘dangal’, so what is wrong in it.”

Lucknow: “The victo-ry of BJP in 2022 is very much visible and that too with as much strength as it was in 2014,2017 and 2019,” CM Yogi Adityanath said at the booth president’s conference in Jaunpur on Saturday. Coming down heavily on the anti-nationalist forces, the CM said “ the UP as-sembly election of 2022 is the center of attrac-tion for the country and the world, as well as a matter of curiosity and surprise.

More so, the anti-In-dia elements are being polarized and the whole fight looks narrowed down between national-ist and anti-national-ists.” Invoking the na-tionalism of Late Um-anath Singh who fell prey to the hooliganism of the Samajwadi Party, the CM described Jaun-

pur as an important dis-trict of Kashi region. “People will never forget the sacrifice of Uma nath Singh and give a befitting reply in the

2022 polls.’’ He said that for the last four-and-a-half years, such ele-ments could not disturb the faith of people they had in the BJP. “Under these circumstances, it is the responsibility of every booth president of BJP that he should stick to the ‘MANTRA’ of Prime Minister Modi ji that if you win the booth, you will win the election,” asserted CM Yogi. He said that dur-ing the pandemic, the central and state govt made arrangements to provide free ration to 15 cr people.

Backward community voters to play vital role: Anupriya Patel

Lakhimpur Kheri: The estimation of tiger popu-lation, popularly known as tiger counting, in the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) is slated to com-mence from December 20, forest officials said.

The exercise was earlier slated to start from October 20 but had to be postponed due to floods in the re-gion caused by untime-ly rains and heavy dis-charge of water into the Sharda river from the Banbasa barrage.

“Estimation work to ascertain tiger popula-tion as well as that of wild elephants and oth-er carnivorous and un-gulates (hoofed ani-mals) is likely to start from December 20,” Sanjay Pathak, field di-rector, DTR, said.

“The counting work, as per the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) guidelines, would be conducted si-multaneously in Dudh-wa, Kishanpur, Dudhwa buffer zone, Mohamma-

di and Gola ranges of south Kheri forest divi-sion, Katarniaghat (Bah-raich) and the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR),” he

added. Pathak said a training session for data operators is scheduled to be held on November 30 as the counting work would be done on a digi-tal platform NTCA-de-veloped MSTRiPES app with no manual feeding of forms like earlier.

“To ensure the accu-racy and purity of data feeding, training of master trainers 36 for-est officials from 18 for-est divisions would be held on December 6 and 7 in Dudhwa/Katarnia-

Lucknow: AICC Gen-eral Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Satur-day promised to consti-tute a permanent Bun-delkhand development board if voted to power in 2022. Accusing the successive governments in UP of neglecting Bun-delkhand Priyanka Gan-dhi said they had de-ceived the people of this region.

Addressing a gather-ing in Mahoba on Satur-day Priyanka said nei-ther the Modi’s govern-ment at the Centre nor the Yogi’s regime in UP had done any thing dur-ing the last five years for the welfare of poor peo-ple of this vast region consisting on 19 assem-bly constituencies.

Asserting that Bun-delkhand development board would be a reality as soon as the Congress comes to power in UP Priyanak Gandhi said full budget would be ear-marked every year for this region. She alleged

that farmers were com-mitting suicide in Bun-delkhand because of acute shortage of ferti-lisers and during the last two years large numbers of farmers have died by suicide but there was no response from the BJP government.

She said Bundelkhand was in bad condition be-cause of BJP govern-

ment’s wrong mining policy, farmers’ plight, water problem, unem-ployment and inflation.

“We will end BJP’s po-lice of loot and work for the overall development of the region,” she said and added if the party came to power a cultural hall commemorating Veer Ahla Udal would be constructed in Mahoba.

Gorakhpur: BJP ally Apna Dal (S) on Satur-day said it hoped PM Modi will accept its de-mand for creating an OBC ministry, and claimed that in the 2022 UP polls, voters from backward communities will play a “vital role”.

Union Minister and Apna Dal (Sonelal) na-tional president Anu-priya Patel said her party followed the path shown by Dr Sonelal Pa-tel and with the efforts of all, those from back-ward and other back-ward classes got their rights.

With the struggle of the Apna Dal (S) people from backward commu-nities were also able to get 27 per cent reserva-tion in admission at Sainik and Central schools, she said.

“I hope PM Modi will

accept the demand of an OBC ministry on the lines of the minority af-fairs ministry,” Anupri-ya Patel reiterated her demand, while address-ing a gathering on the death anniversary of former PM VP Singh.

She appealed to peo-ple to ensure Apna Dal (S) victory in the polls and said “backwards will play a vital role in this election” and the key to forming govern-ment is with them.

Mathura: An Army personnel was booked on charges of drugging and raping a 21-year-old woman, the police here said on Saturday.

The accused, Tejveer, was arrested for raping a woman he befriended through social media.

On Saturday, he was slapped with a few more charges, including sec-tion 376 D (rape by more than one person) and 328 (drugging a person) of the IPC, Superintendent of Police (rural) Srish Chandra said. He said a process to book them un-der Gangster Act has also been started.

The officer said since the initial FIR was regis-tered by the brother of the woman, it had a few shortcomings. However, on the basis of the wom-an’s statement the ac-cused was charged with section 161, 164, 376D, and 328, he said.

The incident took place on November 23, when the victim was ac-

companied by Tejveer and another man Digam-ber, to Agra for a Sub In-spector exam.

According to her testi-mony, she was drugged and raped by Tejveer, and molested by Digam-bar, during their return journey to Mathura in the moving car. After the act, the accused aban-doned her on outskirts of Kosi Kalan area.

Digambar was arrest-ed on Friday from Kot-ban under Kosi Kalan Police Station of Mathu-ra, officials said, adding that he has been sent for judicial custody. Both ac-cused are residents of Manpur village in Palw-al, Haryana. —PTI

Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP’s) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Friday lodged a complaint with the Lucknow police that he had received a threat to his life from an un-known person calling him from a particular number.

On Singh’s com-plaint, an FIR has been registered at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow, Police Commissioner DK Thakur said

“I got death threats again. Maybe some peo-ple want to kill me. No problem but I want to

tell those cowardly goons that I will not stop raising my voice against crime and cor-ruption,” the senior Aam Aadmi Party lead-er said in a tweet.

Lucknow Police should take note of this number from which the call was made and which was diverted to my associate Ajit,” Sin-gh added.

Singh also shared the number with the police from which he received the threat.

Police Commissioner Thakur said the police have begun a probe into Singh’s complaint. —PTI

Prayagraj: While allowing a transfer application filed by a woman seeking to transfer a divorce case proceeding, the Allahabad HC observed that the applicant-wife hav-ing no one in her family to escort her on the journey to attend court pro-ceedings in a differ-ent district is a good ground for the transfer of a case.

Justice Vivek Varma referred and relied upon several apex court judg-ments and further observed, “In matri-monial cases, the convenience of the wife is the dominat-ing factor for justi-fying the transfer of a matter.”

The husband of the applicant filed a petition before the Kanpur Nagar court against the applicant seeking a divorce. Thereafter, the wife filed the present transfer ap-plication seeking transfer of the case proceedings from Kanpur Nagar to Prayagraj.

She contended that being a young woman, she cannot travel to the dis-trict Kanpur, which is about 200 Km from district Praya-graj, where she is currently working as a resident doctor at Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital, to defend the pro-ceedings, as there is no one to escort her to the court as she lives alone at Prayagraj.

Kanpur: On the lines of the Bollywood film ‘Hera Pheri’, a Banga-lore family was run-ning a company full of thugs. In the film, the promise of doubling the amount in 30 days was given, but this family went four steps ahead, after the case of fraud of Rs 2,000 crore in the name of doubling the amount in four months came to light .

Bajaria police arrest-ed four people from Ban-galore in the case. Lucky Singh, the owner of a shoe company, resident of Bajaria, had filed a case in which the direc-tor of Ambient Market-ing Company of Banga-lore, his son and daugh-

ter-in-law were accused of cheating in the name of doubling the amount of ` 3 crore.

When the police and crime branch together reached the bottom of the matter, it came to light that the entire net-work of fraud was being

run through this bogus company. DCP West BB-GTS Murthy said Syed Farid, his son Syed Afaq, Syed Ammar and Afaq’s wife Nabila Mir-za, who cheated about 3,000 people by opening a bogus company named Ambidant in Bangalore,

had contacted Kanpur trader Lucky Singh on the pretext of supplying his product abroad, af-ter which they promised him to double the amount in four months. In this way the company was closed by cheating him of ` 3 crore.

INDUSTRIAL HOUSES OWNING BANKS WILL BE FULL OF RISKS FOR DEPOSITORS

he Reserve Bank of India has remained non-committal on its Internal Working Group’s (IWG) pro-

posal to allow large corporate houses as promoters. It favoured entry of big corporate houses “only after necessary” amend-ments to the Banking Regulations Act, 1949. While the IWG chose to remain silent on the issue, the for-mer Governor Raghuram Rajan and Deputy Governor Viral Acha-rya were openly against the idea. The two found it a “bad idea”.

Rajan and Acharya had their own reasons against the move. Both were of the view that per-mitting corporations to own banks would “consolidate finan-cial power in the hands of a few”. That would give these companies access to “unlimited” funding and, as Viral Acharya had said, the “level of governance” and transparency will decline.

Their opposition to large cor-porations owning was based on sound logic. The move would leave depositors vulnerable. They have already been duped by some private banks to expose them to larger risks. The Nirav Modi case is an example.

he new Covid var-iant, dubbed Vari-ant of Concern and named Omi-cron by the World

Health Organisation, has spread panic across the world. ” Named after a Greek alphabet, Omicron, has been described as a super spreader and has been found in Bot-swana, Hong Kong, Belgium and Israel.

The worldwide fear led sev-eral countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the US, to ban flights from South Africa and seven other Afri-can countries. South Africa has strongly objected to the travel ban and called the re-action “draconian” and “un-justified” but Joe Biden said it was a “precautionary move”. The move to ban flights from the region got

thumbs down from the WHO which said that it was early to say that this variant was virulent or not.

Going by the serious con-cern, Prime Minister Naren-dra Modi chaired a special meeting to discuss the situa-tion arising out of Omicron’s presence. He emphasized on the administration of the second dose of Covid-19 vac-cine in view of the new threat. Health ministry offi-cials advised rigorous moni-toring of all international arrivals and also of those

transiting. State govern-ments have been alerted to the threat. It has to be seen what decision is taken vis-à-vis the India A cricket team which is playing a series in South Africa and also the In-dian team scheduled to tour South Africa.

Although WHO feels it is too early to press the panic button, panic has already been created. The global stock market crash indicated how fearful countries are of Covid’s return. Let’s play by the rule book to stay safe.

We have got independence to give the World something.

But we will be worth giving something to the World when we reverse this bad chapter in history and follow the path of

our “Param Vaibhav.” I do not know what to make of

this statement. It cannot be ruled out that Shri Mohan

Bhagwat has been misquoted. But the Indian Express of 26th November confirms

what I have quoted from ANI

roadly speaking I read the speeches and statements of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Chief with care and undiminishing interest. That he is heavy weight, cannot be denied.

I do not subscribe to his philosophy or that of the RSS. Neither do I wholly agree with what AC Noorani has written in his book, “The RSS: A Menace to India”, pub-lished in 2019 by Leftword.

Regrettably to my disap-pointment, Shri Mohan Bhag-wat on last Thursday made an astounding observation at the launch of Krishnanand Sa-gar’s book, “Vibhajankaleen Bharat Ke Shakshi”(The wit-nesses of partition era India).

According to the report filed by Image ANI, Shri Bhagwat maintained that Partition was accepted only to avoid bloodshed. He appar-ently asserted that neither India nor Pakistan was happy as a consequence. Maintain-ing that was a matter of exist-ence, he is supposed to have said, “We have to integrate what has been disintegrat-ed”. He is, according to the report declared “The propos-al (for Pakistan) was accepted so that rivers of blood should not flow. If they did not do so, then a lot more blood would have blown back then and is even flowing back today. One thing is clear: Partition can-

not be a solution. Neither In-dia is happy, nor are the peo-ple who demanded partition in the name of Islam are happy. Because we cannot de-rive happiness from this.”

“We have got independ-ence to give the World some-thing. But we will be worth giving something to the World when we reverse this bad chapter in history and follow the path of our “Par-am Vaibhav.””

I do not know what to make of this statement. It cannot be ruled out that Shri Mohan Bhagwat has been misquot-ed. But the Indian Express of 26th November confirms what I have quoted from ANI.

I quote from the Express News Service. “The only so-lution to the pain of Parti-tion lies in undoing it, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday.”

The Express quotes Shri Bhagwat, “If we want to be-come a strong nation and con-tribute to the World’s welfare, the Hindu Society will have to become capable. Bharat ke vib-hajan ki peed ka samadhan, vibhajan ko nirast karne mein hai. (The solution to the pain of partition is in undoing it.)

If what is reported is cor-rect then Shri Bhagwat has to answer several questions. What is the methodology he has in mind for the Nirast (undo) Partition? Does he re-ally believe that Pakistan will ever agree to Partition being undone? That would mean the re-establishment of a pre-1947 India. Having been am-bassador to Pakistan, I know how the Pakistan ruling class and the armed forces think. India is enemy number one.

We defeated Pakistan in 1971. We helped the birth of an in-dependent country- Bangla-desh. It would be unrealistic to imagine that Bangladesh will ever wish to become a part of India.

President Zia-ul-Haq once told me, “We will never forget what India did to us in 1971.”

There can never be a mean-ingful and cordial relation-ship between the two coun-tries. No one denies that Parti-tion was unavoidable. Mr MA Jinnah, the supreme and un-disputed leader of the Muslim League made it clear that Par-tition was the only solution to Hindu-Muslim differences.

In October 1962 Rajaji was staying in my apartment in New York. I asked him how the Congress could agree to Parti-tion. He said (not his exact words) that finally even Gan-dhiji agreed when he saw that Jawaharlal, Sardar, myself, Pant and other members of the Congress Working Committee accepted the 3rd June 1947 pro-posal for Partitioning India.

Gandhiji attended the cru-cial meeting of the CWC which was to approve the par-

tition plan presented by Lord Mountbatten. There is no clear approval in the AICC. In the words of VP Menon Gan-dhiji “clinched the issue by supporting the resolution moved by Pt. Pant, asking for accepting the 3rd June Plan”

Gandhiji said that his views on the plan were well known; the acceptance of the plan did not only involve the Congress Working Commit-tee. There were two other par-ties to it, the British Govern-ment and the Muslim League. If at this stage the All India Congress Committee rejected the Working Committee’s de-cision, what would the world think of it? The consequenc-es of rejection would be the finding of a new set of lead-ers, who would not only be capable of constituting the Congress Working Commit-tee but of taking charge of the Government. They should not forget that peace in the country was very essential at this juncture. The Congress was opposed to Pakistan and he was one of those who had steadfastly opposed the divi-sion of India. Yet he had come before the All India Congress Committee to urge the accept-ance of the resolution on In-dia’s division. Sometimes certain decisions, however unpalatable they might be, had to be taken. The resolu-tion was carried by 157 votes to twenty nine. Thirty two members remained neutral.

Shri Bhagwat is being im-practical. Respectfully I ask him to abandon his idea of undoing Partition. It will never, never happen.

New Delhi: The Trina-mool Congress may skip the meeting of the opposition parties on November 29, media re-ported, quoting Trina-mool leaders aware of the development. The Congress should first coordinate among themselves and set their own house in or-der and then think of coordinating with other camps, a senior TMC leader privy to the par-ty’s decision told media on condition of ano-nymity. This comes as the Congress and the Trinamool are caught in a situation where po-litical pundits are rais-ing questions about whether TMC will lead to a ‘Congress Mukt’ In-dia, following the re-cent Meghalaya coup.

Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mal-likarjun Kharge said the Congress will try to bring all opposition parties together in Par-liament.

While the Trinamool expresses its disinter-est in coordinating with the Congress, the news report says that the par-ty has no problem in

coordination with other opposition parties. “We will raise several issues concerning the people’s interest and will coordi-nate with them. We

most probably will not attend the opposition parties’ meeting con-vened by the Congress,” the TMC leader, quoted by media, said. —PTI

ROBUST MECHANISM ALREADY EXISTS UNDER RERA: CENTRE TO SCNew Delhi: The Centre has told the Supreme Court that a robust regulatory mechanism and draft ‘agreement for sale’ already exists under provisions of RERA to balance the rights of homebuyers and promoters in an ac-countable and transpar-ent manner. The Centre’s response came on a plea, filed by advocate Ashwini Upadhyay, seeking direction to it to frame a “model-builder agreement” and agent-buyer agreement in the real estate sector to infuse transparency &

restraining builders and agents from indulging into unfair and restric-tive trade practices. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affair, in an affida-vit, said: “It is submitted that the prayer against answering respondent is infructuous, as there is a robust regulatory mechanism and draft ‘agreement for sale’ has already been prescribed under the provisions of RERA which seeks to balance the rights and interest of homebuyers and promoters in an ac-countable and transpar-ent manner”.

AGUSTA CASE: ALLEGED MIDDLEMEN MICHEL ON HUNGER STRIKENew Delhi: Christian Michel, the alleged middle-man in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam, has embarked on a hunger strike since Thursday

while lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail. A prison administration official told media that Christian Michel “has not taken food since Thursday. We are monitoring his

health.” According to media reports, Michel, a British national, wrote a letter to UK Prime Minis-ter Boris Johnson earlier this month, threatening to go on hunger strike unless his demands to impose sanctions on India are not accepted. In his letter, Michel had urged the British govern-ment to apply the Magnitsky Act.

For the AGMUT cadre that has been reeling in disappointment over losing several key turf positions to officers from other state cadres, it was literally manna from the heaven when the Delhi government announced the appoint-ment of Chief Secre-tary Vijay Kumar Dev, a 1987 batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, as an Election Commission-er in the Election Com-mission of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

He will assume his new charge on April 1 next year, a year ahead of his retirement, and occupy this position for a period of six years or till 65 years of age.

Before the announce-ment came, Delhi offic-ers were loudly won-dering why Dev was not elevated to the sec-retary-level post of the Central government.

Officers then pointed out that former chief secretary KK Sharma (1983) was made secre-tary in HRD Ministry. He was further given another plum assign-

ment as advisor to the Jammu & Kashmiri L-G. Similarly, former chief secretary Dr MM Kutty was made Petro-

leum Secretary at the Centre. After superan-nuation, he is chairman of the Air Quality Com-mission under the Min-

istry of Environment.Further, former

chief secretary Anshu Prakash who had bitter experiences in the Del-hi government as he was allegedly assaulted at the chief Minister’s residence was consoled with the position of Telecommunications Secretary at the Centre.

None of such assign-ments was seen coming for Vijay Kumar Dev. And hence the earlier speculations among the officers.

For Dev, the new as-signment is a career-enhancing one as it

gives him tenure till 65 after his superannua-tion. The reward may be a recognition of his capability that helped him avoid any contro-versy with the Kejriwal administration.

Dev’s prestigious ap-pointment may help restore to some extent the hope among the AGMUT cadre officers that all is not lost, that they have just gone through a bad patch, and there is no deliber-ate policy of discrimi-nation being followed by the central govern-ment against them.

Jaipur: It is a million dollar question as to why didn’t Prime Minis-ter Narendra Modi talk to the farmers before an-nouncing the withdraw-al of the three contro-versial farm laws?

If he himself could not talk, then why didn’t Agriculture and Farm-ers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who had held several rounds of talks with the farmers before this, talk

to the farmers about the return of the laws and try to get consent to end the movement?

If the Prime Minister had to take political ad-vantage of this decision, then by putting Rajnath Singh or any other lead-er of Uttar Pradesh in

the front, he would talk to the farmers and get consent from the farm-ers that the government would withdraw the law and in return the farm-ers would end their agitation.

If it was not possible officially, then the gov-ernment could have said so through the ‘back channels’. Captain Am-arinder Singh, the for-mer Chief Minister of Punjab who has recently left the Congress, could have been roped in for

this task. He has good harmony with the agi-tating farmers’ organi-sations and has helped the farmers in the move-ment. If the government had spoken to the farm-ers earlier, the embar-rassment would not have arisen for Prime Minister. Think, the Prime Minister himself has announced to with-draw the law and that too on the national tele-vision channel, yet the farmers are not ending the agitation.

WHY WEREN’T FARMERS SPOKEN TO EARLIER?

‘People trying to frame me like they framed Deshmukh’Mumbai: Maharash-tra Minister Nawab Malik on Saturday claimed that some people are trying to frame him in a false case just like they did with former Maha-rashtra Home Minis-ter Anil Deshmukh.

The NCP leader said, “While I was on a trip abroad, some people caught two persons in a car, tak-ing pictures. It was found that one of them has been writ-ing against me on his Koo handle. He is usually seen wher-ever I go to the au-thorities or submit documents.” “We will give his informa-tion to Mumbai Po-lice Commissioner and ask for a probe. I have multiple pieces of evidence against many conspirators. People are framing me like they framed Anil Deshmukh. It is not like we are scared, but what is

the intention,” he said.

This comes a day after Malik shared photos on Twitter of some people who were allegedly “do-ing a recce of his house”.

“These people rid-ing in this car have been doing ‘recce’ at my house and school for the last few days. Let me know if any-one recognizes them. To those in the pic-ture, I want to say that if they need any information from me, I will give it to them,” he had tweet-ed on Friday. —ANI

BJP PLANS CONGRESS-MUKTA RAE BARELI IN 2022 ELECTION

BJP has been making effort to free Raebareli from the grip of

Congress over the constituency. While the Lok Sabha seat is being represented by AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Congress has lost control over all the assembly seats in the district. While fi ve of the six assembly seats are now under the control of BJP and one is under the control of Samajwadi Party. In this connection, Union Minister Smriti Irani, who had dislodged Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in the 2019 Lok Sabha election,

effectively working in Raebareli to widen and strengthen the party base. She is now chairperson of district development coordination committee Raebareli- a post held by Sonia Gandhi. With the recent departure of Congress Rae Bareli Sadar MLA Aditi Singh, daughter of late Akhilesh Singh to BJP, the Congress representation in assembly from the district has fi nished. In the 2017 assembly election, Congress had two seats and three seats had gone to BJP. Unchahar was the only seat that was won by SP’s Manoj Pandey

who had defeated BJP’s Utkarsh Maurya son of labour minister Swami Prasad Maurya. Before shifting of Aditi Singh, another Congress MLA from Harchandpur Rakesh Singh had rebelled against the party in 2018 and extended support to the BJP. His elder brother Dinesh Pratap Singh raising the banner of revolt against Congress had contested against Sonia Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The three constituencies won by the BJP in 2017 were Bachchrawan, Saron and Sareni. Salon seat had fallen

vacant following the death of BJP MLA Dal Bahadur Kori last May.

NOT A SINGLE RIOT IN YOGI REGIME SO FAR: UP MINISTER

Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh had earned a

dubious distinction of an engineer over one thousand riots in the state between 2012 and 2017, UP Minister of State for Housing and Urban Planning, Girish Chandra Yadav said here on Saturday.

Making a scathing attack on Akhilesh Yadav, the minister, in a statement, accused him of state-sponsored riots which caused huge damage to the lives and property of innocent people. “Owing to its appeasement policy, the Akhilesh government had not only been triggering riots but also provided open protection to the rioters,” he charged. Dubbing communal riots as a permanent stigma for the country and the state, Girish Yadav said those who disturbed the communal harmony for their ulterior political motives, should be treated as ‘enemies of the country and society. Ruing how the tranquility of the Western UP was compromised during the previous regime in UP, he recalled Muzaffarnagar, famous in the country for its sweetness of sugarcane and jaggery, was made a laboratory of communalism by the

Samajwadi Party. “Even more shameful was the attitude of the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who was busy in the celebrations at his home place of Saifai while the entire region was mired by communal tension in the wake of Muzaffarnagar riots, “ pointed out the UP Minister adding “ The rioters had the open protection of the government, causing damage to the lives and property of the people many of them had to fl ee for safer places. “ Minister of State Yadav said that during the previous tenure of Akhilesh, there used to be frequent riots, the statistics being proof of this. “As many as 227 riots took place in 2012, 247 in 2013, 242 in 2014, 219 in 2015, and over one hundred in 2016,” he said while lamenting that during Akhilesh’s time, Uttar Pradesh was recognised as a riot state. —First India Bureau

AAP TO PROTEST AGAINST UP GOVTTODAY OVER DALIT FAMILY KILLINGAddressing a press conference at party headquarters, AAP MP Sanjay Singh announces that his party will hold protests across all districts of Uttar Pradesh today demanding justice for the victimsNew Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday slammed the Uttar Pradesh govern-ment over the recent killing of four mem-bers of a Dalit family in Allahabad, and de-manded a speedy trial into the case and capi-tal punishment to the culprits.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, AAP MP Sanjay Singh an-nounced that his party will hold protests across all districts of Uttar Pradesh on Sun-day demanding justice for the victims. He al-leged that the horrific incident, in which a mi-nor girl of the family was allegedly gan-graped and killed, was the outcome of the Yogi Adityanath administra-tion’s “negligence and a police-criminals nexus in the state”.

Four members of a Dalit family were bru-tally killed in Gohri vil-

lage under Phaphamau police station area of Allahabad district Wednesday night. The head of the family, an approximately 50-year-old man, his 45-year-old wife, 16-year-old daugh-ter and 10-year-old son were sleeping in the house when the inci-dent took place.

“This is bigger than the Hathras case. Hooli-ganism and savagery against the poor and de-prived sections have got a free run in the state under CM Yogi Adity-anath,” Singh said. He said the victims had been beaten up by the accused in September, however, the police lodged an FIR only after a week following pres-sure from the locals and the media. “The family had been begging for justice since they were beaten up but the police did not take any action and finally they were brutally murdered,” Singh claimed. —PTI

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhile-sh Yadav on Saturday lashed out at the ruling BJP, accusing it of try-ing to instil fear among people while alleging that its supporters mowed down farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri last month.

Addressing a public meeting in Sandila, Ya-dav said, “Farmers had come out to demand the withdrawal of three farm laws and BJP’s MoS for Home and his supporters crushed them under the tyres of a Jeep.” “The British

had fired from the front at the Jallianwala Bagh and the BJP people mowed down farmers from behind,” Yadav said. “They think they

can do politics by mak-ing people afraid. The British ruled by dividing and they think they can rule by making people afraid. This time, no one will get afraid and we will wipe them out,” he said referring to the up-coming Assembly polls.

Taking a dig at CM Yogi, Yadav said nowa-days he (Yogi) is learning names of power plants but by the time he learns them, his government will go. Yadav assured that the power sector will be reformed if his SP forms next government in the state. —PTI

THERE WILL BE A NEW TWIST IN THE FARMERS’ MOVEMENT!

H is style of politics is also unique and

his ‘thinking’ has also been built in the guise of his ‘strategies’, so on the occasion of Prakash Parv, when PM Modi suddenly announced the withdrawal of all the three agricultural laws, playing his trump card, a section of the citizens considered it his ‘master stroke’, while his politi-cal opponents found it a late decision. The most surprising thing is that the party people and the ministers of the govern-ment were not even aware that the PM was go-ing to make such an an-n o u n c e -ment. Ap-parently, it appeared that the PM did not talk to t h e

farmer leaders nor their organizations before this important an-nouncement. But relia-ble sources reveal that the PM spoke to the Su-preme Association of Sikhs, Shri Akal Takht Sahib, for a solution to the farmers’ agitation that has been going on for almost a year and he also got the moral strength for his impor-tant announcement from there. After this an-nouncement of the PM, the important statement of Shri Akal Takht Sa-hib’s Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh also came to the fore that ‘a future loss has been

averted due to this de-cision of PM’.

Even Ama-rinder Singh also played an impor-tant role, who took the farmer lead-er Gurnam

S i n -

gh Chadhuni into his confidence in this re-gard and it was decided among themselves that once the PM made his announcement, then gradually the farmers will move away from the agitation site and into their respective homes. This suggestion also emerged promi-nently in an opinion poll conducted by the BJP that if the farmers vacate the agitation site, then losses suf-fered by the BJP in these recent elections could be compensated to some degree. But it is

believed that RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary and SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav are constantly in touch with Rakesh Ti-kait and Punjab’s new Chief Minister Charan-jit Singh Channi is also helping the movement in every which way. So, at the last moment Rakesh Tikait took a U-turn and became ada-mant that farmers would not leave the agi-tation site until all three agricultural laws were repealed in Parlia-ment and the govern-ment’s position on the statutory guarantee on MSP is not clear, so af-ter this the farmers of Punjab also did not go back.

YOGI’S LIST OF 150 CANDIDATES

W hen the saf-fron party

elections, it was de-cided in the coor-

d i n a t i o n meeting of

t h e

BJP and the Sangh that the UP election would not be taken lightly and the responsibility of this election would not be left only on Yogi, but its joint responsi-bility will be on the shoulders of senior leaders i.e. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and JP Nadda and PM Modi himself will also spend maximum time in UP. Anyway, in all the opinion polls of the Sangh and the BJP, the growing difficulties of the BJP in the state were being highlight-ed. The results of the survey also showed that Yadavs and M u s l i m s are being completely mobilized in favor of Akh-ilesh’s SP, even as the

BJP’s traditional vote bank - Brahmin and OBC - has broken down. A new alliance of Jat, Muslim and Jatav is being formed in western UP, and this is the first time that Mayawati’s core voter Jatav is leaving the BSP and turning to parties capable of de-feating the BJP. Kurmi voters are also split-ting into Anupriya’s Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Pallavi-Krishna Patel’s Apna Dal (Commu-nist). While Anupriya is with the BJP, her mother and sister are

in favor of the SP. Meanwhile the

BJP is trying to cut the tick-ets of Yogi

l o y a l i s t s knowingly or unknow-ingly and Yogi has

prepared a list

of 150 BJP candidates on his behalf, who are his most trusted. Yogi is trying to convince the party high com-mand that out of these 150, he is guaranteeing to win at least 100 BJP candidates. Interest-ingly, a section of the party wants that if Delhi is to be made easy for Modi in the 2024 elections, next time the BJP will have to give an OBC CM in UP, to send a message to the 54 per cent OBC population of the state.

WHEN WILL JAIRAM LEAVE?

T he BJP is unable to digest its crush-

ing defeat in the Himachal Pradesh by-election and the party, in its brainstorming exercise, has blamed infighting and over-confidence for this. There is a section in the BJP which is put-ting the blame of de-feat on BJP President JP Nadda, who hails from Himachal. The biggest regret in the BJP is the loss of Jub-bal Kotkhai seat where the party had to pay the price for the rebel-lion of its own ‘soldier’ Chetan Bragta. Chetan is the son of former

Narendra Brag-ta, who used

to take full care of his father’s area, but PM Modi, taking a policy decision, made it clear that no close relatives (Wife, sons and daugh-ters) of the late leader will contest this elec-tion because BJP as a political party does not want to be the bearer of the tradition of dy-nasty. In this formula, Chetan’s ticket was cut and he entered the fray as an independent, making it easy for the Congress candidate here. Now the BJP high command wants to remove Chief Minis-ter Jai Ram Thakur, but it is unable to find any alternative to Thakur. After all searches, the name of Anurag Thakur is coming to the fore, but there is no consensus in the party on his name.

Lucknow: Although all the assembly seats are important in the context of electoral equations, the electoral history of Uttar Pradesh testifies that whichever party got the majority on the re-serve seats, it was suc-cessful in forming the government in the state.

The BSP, which won a majority in the 2007 as-sembly elections, won 62 of the state’s 89 reserved seats. The SP had man-aged to win 58 out of 85 seats in 2012, giving its best electoral perfor-mance in the re-serve seats. Then the Akhilesh Ya-dav-led SP govern-ment was formed. The BSP, which won only 15 seats, was ousted from power. A total of 86 seats were reserved in the 2017 elections, out of which 84 belonged to the SC and two seats to the ST category.

The BJP, which got a

thumping majority in the elections, had regis-tered a record victory in seventy reserve seats. BSP could win only Sid-hauli in Sitapur and La-lganj reserve seat in Azamgarh. At the same time, the Congress,

which was out of power in UP for a long time, could not even touch the double figure on

these reserve seats in the last three decades.

Political analysts be-lieve that since there are all Dalit candidates in the reserved seats, due to which the Dalit vote gets divided. Therefore, the role of general caste vot-ers becomes decisive in

these seats. Because of these equations, BSP su-premo Mayawati recent-ly held a meeting with the assembly in-charges of reserved seats and in-structed them to connect all the castes so that the party could repeat the big success of 2007.

Congress is working on several strategies to make inroads among Dalit voters; party strate-gists are implementing special plans for better performance in reserve seats. Since the break-up of the alliance with the BSP, the SP is taking all possible measures to make inroads among the Dalit voters. BJP, which has strengthened its hold among the non-Jat-av Dalit voters, is now moving ahead on a spe-cial strategy to woo the Jatav voters. The return of Babyrani Maurya, who was the governor of Uttarakhand, to active politics, indicates the special plan of the Saf-fron party.

Lucknow: The Oppo-sition parties on Saturday strongly condemned the BJP government for the murder of four Dalits in Phaphamu in Prayagraj.

Sharply reacting to the incident, Samajwa-di Party president Akh-ilesh Yadav said that there was no law and order in the state and criminals were ruling the roost.

Yadav said a six-member delegation on Saturdsay visited the Gohri village to express condolence with the relatives of the family.

The delegation was consisted of SP leaders Mithai Lal Bharati,

Vasudeo Yadav, MLC, former MPs Dharam Raj Patel, Nagendra Pa-tel, district president Yogesh Chandra Yadav and district general sec-retary Sandip Patel.

BSP chief Mayawati criticising the govern-ment for declining law

and order situation said the crime situation has worsened in the state. She said there was no governmental control over law enforcement machinery. Mayawati said Prayagraj crime was extremely shame-ful and had exposed the

government badly. She said the BJP was follow-ing footprint of previ-ous Samajwadi Party government in connec-tion with law and order.

She said a delegation led by party leader Bab-ulal Bhanwar visited the village and found

that criminals were running amok there. She said there was ter-ror of these criminals in the village. Mayawa-ti has demanded strict action against these criminals.

AICC general secre-tary Priyanka Gandhi visited the village on November 26.

Four members of a Dalit family were bru-tally killed in Gohri vil-lage under Phaphamau police station area of Allahabad on Wednes-day night.

Lucknow: State cadre PCS officers are current-ly very much involved in the fight for their organ-isation. In the state gov-ernment, about 1400 PCS officers are posted from Lucknow in 75 districts of the state of which 50 per cent are PCS officers of direct recruitment and rest are PCS officers promoted from Tehsil-dar service.

With one state, one government and one PCS cadre, how long will two organisations of PCS of-ficers posted there last. The first organization is of direct recruitment of-ficers whose name is PCS Association in which most of the members in-cluding the president,

general secretary have become IAS. But leave aside the merger of two organisations of PCS, they are not even able to form the new executive. General Secretary Pawan Gangwar said he wanted that both the or-ganisations of PCS should be merged as there no more existed any difference between them. But now he has be-come IAS and the deci-sion will have to be taken

by the new executive.Similarly Nandlal,

president of the other organization of PCS promoted has also said now that both the or-ganisation should be united but who should take the initiative.

The officers of PCS promoted organisation have opened a front against their own lead-ers with groups been formed according to dif-ferent batches.

very year mil-lions of A m e r i -cans try to c u t down on ul-tra-processed

foods – industrial for-mulations that are typically high in added fat, refined car-bohydrates or both. Think industrially made cookies, cakes, potato chips and pizza.

Many people know that most ultra-pro-cessed foods are not healthy. But the goal of cutting down on them can be so chal-lenging that the ma-jority of these at-tempts fail. Why?

In my Food and Ad-diction Science and Treatment Lab at the University of Michi-gan, my colleagues and I are investigating one largely overlooked factor: These ultra-processed foods may be addictive, sharing more in common with tobacco products than with whole foods like apples or beans.

ADDICTED TO ULTRA-PROCESSED FOODSI’m a clinical psychol-ogist who studies ad-diction science, obesi-ty and disordered eat-ing. Based on our cur-rent estimates, 15% of Americans meet the threshold for food ad-diction, which is asso-ciated with diet-relat-ed disease, obesity and poorer quality of life. This prevalence is re-markably in line with that of addictions to other legal and acces-sible substances. For instance, 14% of peo-ple in the U.S. meet the criteria to be diag-nosed with alcohol use disorders.

U l t r a - p r o c e s s e d foods that have artifi-cially high levels of fat and refined carbohy-drates like sugar and white flour are those that people eat addic-tively. For example, chocolate, ice cream, French fries, pizza and cookies are

some of the foods that people find most addic-tive.

But can these ultra-processed foods really be considered addic-tive? Or are people just overindulging in something they like? To help us answer those questions, my colleagues and I have turned to one of the last big debates in ad-diction science – whether tobacco is ad-dictive.

THE CASE THAT YOU CAN BE ADDICTED TO TOBACCO

In contrast to drugs like alcohol and opi-oids, tobacco products are not intoxicating and allow people to go about their daily lives while using them. To-bacco products also don’t cause life-threat-ening withdrawal symptoms, unlike al-cohol and opioids. And there is little need to break the law to access or use tobacco.

The largest global tobacco industry com-panies – colloquially grouped together as Big Tobacco – often highlighted the differ-ence between tobacco and “classic” addictive drugs. Increasing doubt about whether tobacco was truly ad-dictive could help them avoid culpability for their industry practices and place the blame on consum-ers for their choice to continue to smoke.

However, in 1988, the Surgeon General officially identified to-bacco products as ad-dictive. This report directly contradicted Big Tobacco’s stance that tobacco intake is a matter of consumer choice driven by the taste and sensory ef-fect of their products.

The Surgeon Gen-eral based much of the classification of tobacco products as addictive on their ability to trig-ger strong, of-ten irresisti-ble urges to use, despite a desire to quit and in t h e face of life-threat-e n i n g health conse-quences. The final addic-tion crite-rion to-

bacco met was its abil-ity to alter mood – in-creasing pleasure, re-ducing negative emo-tions – because nico-tine affected the brain.

It’s a common mis-conception that the designation was based on the identification of a specific brain re-sponse to tobacco.

The Surgeon Gen-eral designating tobac-co as an addictive product raised the per-centage of the public who viewed smoking as an addiction from 37% in 1980 to 74% in 2002. The scientific case that cigarettes were addictive also made it harder for Big Tobacco to de-fend their practices.

In 1998, Big Tobacco lost a legal battle that resulted in them paying billions of dollars to states to cover smoking-related health costs. Since 1980, the use of tobacco products in the U.S. drastically de-clined – a huge public health accomplish-ment.

ULTRA-PROCESSED FOODS CHECK THE SAME BOXES

U l t r a - p r o c e s s e d foods meet all the same criteria that were used to designate tobacco as addictive.

Tobacco and ultra-processed foods alter mood in a similar way by increasing pleasur-able feelings and re-ducing negative ones. The high levels of re-fined carbohy-drates and fat in ultra-processed foods power-fully activate reward systems in the brain.

U l t r a - p r o c e s s e d foods are highly rein-forcing – they can shape your behavior to keep you coming back for more. For example, teachers and parents use ultra-processed foods to reward good b e - havior in

children to increase the likelihood that kids will continue to behave. In rats, re-searchers have repeat-edly found that sweet tastes are more rein-forcing than even highly addictive drugs, like cocaine.

The high failure rates of diets make it painfully clear that ul-tra-processed foods can trigger strong, often ir-resistible urges to use despite a desire to quit. In contrast, nutritious, minimally processed foods like fruits, vege-tables and legumes do not meet these criteria for addiction.

Beginning in the 1980s, the amount of unhealthy, ultra-pro-cessed foods in the U.S. exploded. At the same time, the tobacco com-panies Philip Mor-ris and RJ Reyn-olds were buying up u l t r a - p r o c e s s e d food and beverages companies, including General Foods, Kraft, Nabisco and Kool-Aid. Philip Morris and RJ Reynolds took

their scientific, mar-keting and indus-

trial knowl-edge in design-ing and selling a d d i c t i v e , highly profita-

ble tobacco products and applied it to their ultra-

processed f o o d

portfolios. Although these tobacco compa-nies eventually sold their food brands to international food and beverage conglomer-ates in the 2000s, they had already left their stamp on the modern food environment.

The current societal narrative around the ultra-processed foods that dominate today’s food environment is that people who strug-gle to eat them in mod-eration – the majority of Americans – are just weak-willed. It’s the same story used to explain why people couldn’t quit smoking. It ignores the fact that the industry that cre-ated cigarettes also de-veloped and marketed many of these foods, deliberately working to enhance “craveabil-ity” and create “heavy users.”

The addictive na-ture of these ultra-pro-cessed foods under-mines consumers’ free will and health in the service of profits. Yet, there is an important difference between to-bacco and ultra-pro-cessed foods. We all have to eat. No one can opt out.

Just as in the case of tobacco products, it will likely take indus-try regulation to chip away at the popularity of ultra-processed

foods and the health

problems that come along with

them.

VITAMIN AND ZINC-RICH FOOD

W hen we talk about incorpo-rating food rich in Vitamin, we are specifically consider-

ing Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Vitamin E along with Zinc in your daily diet. Further, the intake of green tea, an antioxidant, and turmeric can also help in making your skin more supple and soft. Vegetables, fruits and beverages such as sweet potato, Watermelon, Kiwi, Almond, Oats, Milk, Avocado, etc, have numerous health benefits. What you eat deeply reflects and contributes towards your skin. A perfect and balanced diet helps in getting rid of acne, oily skin as well as pigmentation. Starting your day on an oil free breakfast is one of the best option that you might include in your diet. Although, do not skip meals during the entire day.

SUNSCREEN

W inter exposes your skin to cold and dry weather conditions, which leads to dry and dehydrated skin conditions. Application of

sunscreen is still necessary for winters, especially nowadays since the UV rays are still intrusive. Make sure that you are applying sunscreen before ventur-ing out of your home every single day. Apply it 20 minutes before going out in the sun.

EXFOLIATION

R egular exfoliation is important to remove the dead skin cells that accumulate on the skin. Exfoliation, with the use of scrubs, helps to remove dead cells ef-fectively when applied and rubbed gently on the skin. This also helps the skin

to absorb other products. There are many ingredients easily available at home that can be used to make a great exfoliator such as oats, green tea, honey and sugar, cin-namon powder and honey, ground almonds and yoghurt.

MOISTURIZER

A pply moisturizer daily on your face and body to prevent moisture loss. After bath-

ing, apply moisturizing body lotion immediately, while the skin is still damp, to seal in moisture. Another useful tip could be apply moistur-izer all over your body before go-ing to sleep. Our body recovers at night and it becomes a useful asset at the time. You might also replace your regular lotion with Coconut Oil for its healing qualities. Add a little honey and you are good to go.

PAPAYA

A nother less talked about ingredient but an ab-solute elixir when talking about skin benefits is ripe papaya. A ripe papaya and honey face

mask is filled with vitamins and anti-oxidants. Pa-paya is a fruit that has abundant amounts of Vitamin C, flavonoids and papain which helps in getting rid of dead cells and facilitates the unclogging of pores. Making a blend of papaya puree, with one table-spoon of honey and two teaspoons of milk will give you a highly nutritious mixture. Put this mask on for 15 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.

ALOE VERA GEL

A loe Vera gel or juice can be applied directly to the skin daily. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off with plain water. Aloe Vera is a natural moisturizer and helps

the skin to retain moisture. It is an antioxidant and protects the skin from oxidation damage, thus delaying the visible signs of ageing on the skin. We can also make a moistur-izing cream with it. It is true that aloe vera is not suitable for all skin type. Therefore, apply it on some part of your skin to check if you get rashes. You might look for other options as well meanwhile such as almond paste.

WATER

T his cannot be stressed enough

that for supple and hydrated skin, your body would logically require plenty of water. Drinking two litres or eight glasses of water a day is advised for

glowing skin. Also, avoid hot water and ensure that you wash and bathe with lukewarm or cool water. What happens with hot water is that it causes the skin to dry out too quickly, leading to visible signs of premature ageing.
