Introduction

This presentation is about how a flower becomes a fruit. I am focusing on a tomato and a green chili plant, in my house. Most of the photographs are taken by me.

The bud is born…

This is a bud of the green chili plant This is the bud of a tomato plant

The flower blooms…

The bud opens into a beautiful white flower The bud turns into a bright yellow flower

The flower dries up…

The flower starts to dryThe flower is drying up. Inside is a

baby tomato

The fruit appears…

The petals shake off. Inside is a tiny chili Inside the stalk is a baby tomato.

The fruits grow bigger…

The green chili grows bigger… This is a small tomato.

Ready to pick!

The green chili is ready in a few day’s time... But the tomatoes take a couple of weeks!
