So far we have only had two applica;ons submiMed for these funds. We will match up to $500.00, so if you have an AE project we can help you with, please get your applica;on in ASAP. We are announcing our 2017 Scholarship recipients in this newsleMer; congratula;ons to these deserving recipients! Our AEC Development CommiMee draaed a plan to raise revenue for our AE programs. We are mee;ng with the na;onal staff to fold our ideas and efforts together and launch the effort. If any of you have some ideas or know someone we can contact, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are making a strong effort to reach out to non- tradi;onal donors. We are also in the final stages of selec;ng our Na;onal Teacher of the Year. Once again, we have some very strong candidates. Our Chapter and State organiza;ons have once again done a great job of suppor;ng this important program. I am very pleased that our AEC Vice Chairman, Mr. Jim Hannam, has been selected as AFA’s 2017 Member of the Year. Jim is most deserving of the award and the AEC and AFA have benefiMed from Jim’s many years of selfless service. Have a safe and fun summer. ArnoldAirSociety/SilverWings

Welcome to our new Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings Commanders; Courtney Conway & Tate Hall!

Courtney was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Oxford, MS ten years later. She took an early interest in music and plays guitar, piano, and drums. Today, Courtney enjoys traveling, hiking, and being with friends. In 2014, she entered Mississippi State University and currently studies Mathematics. She joined AFROTC her freshman year as a step towards her goal to serve her country and become an Air Force officer. In 2016, she was the ARCON Director of Operations for Area V and the Kenneth J. Snedden Squadron Vice Commander. Courtney has worked diligently towards furthering the Arnold Air Society mission.

Tate Hall Bio

Tate was born at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, but her family moved to Montgomery, Alabama shortly after. Her father then retired as a Major in the Air Force after serving 23 years in many positions, the longest being a Navigator on B-52s. After 10 years in Montgomery, Tate’s family moved back to Colorado Springs where she completed middle and high school. As an undergrad at Auburn she participated in a Panhellenic sorority, was extremely active in Silver Wings, and completed hundreds of hours of volunteer work. She graduated from Auburn in the spring of 2016 with her degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, and began her Master of Public Administration program that fall with hopes of pursuing a career in ADA Coordination. She has continued her involvement in Silver Wings into graduate school and is excited to serve as the National President for Silver Wings!
