DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE:Fall is here! Where did the summer go? If I close my eyes and listen to the crickets outside my office window at the Y, I can almost pretend I am still at camp with the crickets and frogs that lull us to sleep at night. I hope that everyone has had a great start to their school year. We would love to hear all about your accomplishments on the Camp Foss Official Facebook Page. Please make sure to keep your Foss family updated. I want to thank all the parents/guardians who sent a camper to Camp Foss this summer. We had an

amazing season filled with laughter, learning, and friendship. To all the campers that brightened my day with their songs, games, and silly poses for the camera- thank you for bringing your energy and spirit to us this summer!We had some special people come to volunteer their time with us this summer and others who came back for a week to join in on the fun. I appreciate your ongoing support of Camp Foss. As we start planning for next summer, now is the time to let us know if there is anything you would like to see added. Allie MacWilliams:Happy Autumn Everyone!With all the leaves changing, I have been thinking a lot about all the fun times I had at camp this past sum-mer and the summers before. I can’t help but laugh when I think back to my first summer at camp, when my cabin did our air band to the song “Build Me Up Buttercup”! We were all

painted in yellow from head to toe. It was hard to get all the yellow paint out

of my hair, but I had such a good time! This is just one of many favorite memories that I have of camp. I will also always remember how important and life changing my CIT

year was and all the friends I have made at camp over the past 11 years. I encour-age each of you to share some of your favorite memories of camp with your fam-ily & friends, hopefully by doing so Foss 2015 won’t feel so far away! Can’t wait to see you all next summer!

MY FAVORITE CAMP MEMORYAshley King:All of my favorite camp memories always include playing and dancing on the waterfront with the happy staff and smiling campers. It wouldn’t be a day at camp without dressing up for evening programs and singing around the campfire. Taking out of camp trips is another incred-ible experience at camp. I love hiking and summiting mountains. Seeing the look on campers faces as they accomplish their goal and make it to the top of the highest peak is priceless! We can’t forget the all time favorite trip amongst most campers at camp which is always white water rafting.

Bri Fitzpatrick:Some of my favorite memories are of the time I’ve spent on the shores of Willey Pond at Camp Foss. I’ve met some of my best friends at camp and look forward to going back year after year to see familiar faces and meet lots of new faces. One of my favorite memories is being able to help camp-ers have a great summer experience

and help them create new friendships and memories just as I did when I was a camper.

VIRTUAL EVENING ACTIVITY

Who said camp has to end? It’s October and we have one of the biggest evening activities approaching, Halloween! We are going to host our first ever virtual evening activity costume contest. We need everyone’s cooperation to make this a success. We will award prizes to the top 2 finalists in each of the three categories.

Photo submissions and voting will begin October 30th and run through November 2nd. The final tally of all votes will take place on Monday, November 3rd. The winners will be announced on our Facebook page by 4:00pm that day.

CATEGORIES:1. Most Creative2. Funniest3. Best Foss Spirit

RULES:1. Have your parents, friends, or siblings take a photo of you in your best costume2. Post the photo on the Camp Foss “OFFICIAL GROUP” Facebook Page (make sure to include the category you’re competing in and what your costume is)3. A limit of 2 submissions per person

JUDGING:Your fellow campers and counselors will be judging this contest. The costume pictures that receive the most “likes” on the Foss Facebook Page will be the winner. Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 applicants that received the most likes on their photo submissions within each category. This means up to 6 people could win prizes!

PRIZES:1st place: $15 credit in the Foss store (for Summer 2015)2nd place: $5 credit in the Foss store (for Summer 2015)

We will be introducing a new section of our newsletters which will feature campers! Join us on our Facebook Page and share with us your favorite camp memory so that we can include those memories in our upcoming newsletters! We want to know what makes camp so special for you so that we can continue to help campers create memories to last a lifetime.

Join us on the shores of Willey Pond for another fun filled summer! Registration is now open for all returning campers and their siblings until December 2nd.
