SWACCHTA MAHOTSAV
120 students of Vidya Bharati School participated in the Swacchta Mahotsav 2018, an event
organized by Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Administrative Office on 19th Nov, 2018. Ghaziabad is a
township being developed under the Smart City Project of the Govt. of India and this mega event
was organized with the aim of inculcating sensitivity and awareness of school children and the local
community towards cleanliness and sanitation. Around 20,000 children from across 120 schools
participated in the event.
The Swachhata Rally began from Meerut T-point then passed through Thakurdwara Cut, GDA
Flyover, Collectorate Cut and then Kavi Nagar Ramleela Ground wherein school children formed a
human chain that was 4.3-km-long.
From Kavi Nagar Ramleela Ground the rally again proceeded to St Mary’s Overbridge, Hapur
Intersection and ten back to Ramleela Ground travelling a distance of 6.5 km.
Hordes of school children showcased cultural programmes and played band mesmerizing the
gathering. Students also took an oath of Swachhata and to improve the rankings of Ghaziabad in
Swachhata Survekshan 2019. All the dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the young children in
spreading awareness of the vision and mission of the Prime Minister of India - Swacch Bharat.
VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN Organized By Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) RDC Ghaziabad, Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar conducted Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan at Vidya Bharati School Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad on 25 & 26 November 2018 for Grades VIII, IX and XI. Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is a national program for educating and popularizing science among school students of VI to XI standards. VVM also endeavours to identify the bright minds among the student community. It includes following type of questions: Objective type question answering Comprehensive writing Presentation and Group discussion, Role play, Practical examination. The program also includes organising visits to reputed National Science Laboratories and Centres to enable deserving students to have interaction with renowned scientists of the Nation. The VVM will also identify Vigyan Jigyasu at National level.
A VISIT TO “MR.BROWN BAKERY”
A visit to Mr. Brown – Bakery was organised for the students of Grade IV.
The visit was conducted to make the students learn about professional and commercial baking
facilities and equipment. Additionally, to understand what it is like to work in a bakery and to learn
how different equipments are used in a bakery.
All the students were looking very excited and energetic. Students brought pastries, candies,
breads, etc. The happy and smiling faces of children spread the light of joy in the hearts of
everyone over there.
The visit to the Bakery was really a memorable experience for the students. The visit was
organised to understand the functioning of the bakery. It was a joyful visit. All the students were
thrilled as it was their very first experience of seeing all the ongoing activities inside the bakery.
The visit proved to be aromatic and delightful with over fresh muffins, cakes, pastas and cheesy
sandwiches.

INTER CLASS HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION
As a part of our holistic development curriculum an Inter class Hindi Debate Competition was
organized for the students of grade IV and V

Highlights
Inter class Hindi debate competition was organized in the Auditorium to enhance knowledge
among the students about the positive and negative features of Modern Technology in
child’s life.
Students presented admirable and knowledgeable views on the given topic.
Kisa Abbas and Suryansh of class V A both presented their views wearing props related to
the topic.
Manveer of class IV A was quite confident in speaking his views.
Navya Sharma of class V B spoke about different uses and facilities which modern
technology is providing to us.
The main highlight of the event was on the spot topic to the winners on use of Modern
Technology in Schools, Is it Helpful or not?
Analysis
Participants were enthusiastic and enjoyed every bit of the event sharing the information.
It enabled them to build up their confidence and ability to speak in front of the crowd.
It also enabled them to share their views on the current problem which everybody is facing in
today’s world.
It also enabled and made them aware about the negative effects of the modern technology and the
games they play on Mobiles and Laptops.
The event was a huge success as everybody felt the need of debates like these to be organized on
a regular basis.

KNOW FOR SURE QUIZ COMPETITION 2018
Dehradun Public School, Sanjay Nagar Ghaziabad and association with Dehradun Public School,
Sanjay Nagar Ghaziabad organised Know for Sure Quiz Competition on Friday, 30.11.2018.
The objective of the quiz was to promote and inculcate the desire to learn and research among
students. The quiz was open for students of Grades VI to VIII. Our students got the opportunity to
learn a lot and gave their best in the competition.
INTERCLASS RECITATION COMPETITION
Date & venue An Interclass English Rhyme competition was organized on 28th November 2018 of Pre Primary wing in Auditorium.
Agenda
To develop phonemic awareness, memorization skills and the flair of speaking skills among
the children.
To provide the opportunity to explore their talents.
To help the students to build command over their language.
To build up their confidence by the means of fun and activities.
Highlights
The children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of
words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their
talent and confidence. The children chose a variety of topics for their recitation like nature,
parents, vegetables, save the girl child etc. The children came with props according to their
chosen theme. They recited the poems with a great enthusiasm and depicted high level of
competitive spirit. The participants with their props recited the poems in appropriate pitch and
diction.
Analysis
Participants were happy to receive such a great praise and love from everyone. It enabled
them to build up their confidence, ability and learn the correct method of reciting poetry. The
little scholars learnt a lot many things even in the process of getting prepared for the event.
This made them come out of their cocoons and explore their talent in a better way.
