Greg is a commercial headshot and portrait photographer.
When not shooting for clients, he coaches headshot photog-
raphers as part of Peter Hurley’s Headshot Crew. In addition
to his headshot work, Greg teaches travel lighting workshops and
leads photography tours overseas. He has upcoming tours and proj-
ects in India, Chad, Nepal, and Cuba.
Greg’s photography is greatly influenced by his years spent as a
Special Agent with the FBI. Dealing with people, reading responses,
and being in tune with human emotions over the course of a 26 year
career laid the foundation for photographing people. Working over-
seas fed an interest for cultures and an empathy for the human condi-
tion around the world. An attention to detail was developed in the FBI
as well, and fostered during eight years as a member of the Evidence
Response Team (ERT), where much of his time was spent as a crime
scene photographer.
Greg’s presentation will examine the relationship between the
photographer and subject in travel photography. Particularly, how a
photographer affects a scene, and how developing a rapport with your
subjects results in portraits that better express the personalities of
your subjects.

Phoenix here in foster care for well over a year. His hind legs were deformed so surgery was performed. A very shy dog, none wanted him.
He came to our house twice while his foster parents were on vacation. On his second visit I had a corner in the living room set up with a black backdrop and with two speedlights in soft boxes. I got this photo and a few others of him. It was not long after, he was adopted by a really good family that is taking great care of him now.
Thank you for voting for my image!

Organized by the Oakland Museum of California, which
houses Lange’s personal archive, Dorothea Lange: Politics
of Seeing examines a broad range of the artist’s work
through the lens of social and political activism.
Dorothea Lange is recognized as one of the most
important photographers of the twentieth century, and
her insightful and compassionate work has exerted
a profound influence on the development of modern
documentary photography. With hardship and human
suffering as a consistent theme throughout her career,
Lange created arresting portraits with the aim of sparking
reform. Politics of Seeing encompasses approximately
130 vintage and modern photographs and personal
memorabilia.
