Perceptions of the Fair “For the time we were able to attend, there
were certainly enough activities for a 6/7 year
old”
“Fantastic, well done! It was the first year I could make it and I
thought it was great”
Perceptions of the Fair
“Great games, lots to win and games all at a
fair price”
“Missing more adult retail shops for gifts
etc. Stalls selling things like handbags,
candles, soaps, jewellery”
Perceptions of the Fair
“Good mix although too many 'sweets' as
prizes”
Other comments about the activities overall… • Thought there was the right mix between retail and fun • Lots of outside retailers, could have been more activities for children • Brilliant school fair. Kids loved all of the stalls especially the lucky dip & lucky cracker • We were all really pleased with the activities, the kids had a great time and were happy
overall • Plenty to do, good refreshments, overall a good fair • All great and lots of nice prizes, chocolate stand & tombola • Excellent, lots to do. Would have liked to see a few more retailers • Good varied stalls, lots of fun for all
Food & drink choice
Other comments about the food choice…
• A bit bread heavy, but understandable under the circumstances
• I honestly can't remember the choice but I remember the kids being happy
• Bacon ran out very quickly
• Good choice available
• Bacon sandwiches & sausages, always a good choice
“Lovely choice and went back for more -
more bacon next time though please”
Food & drink quality
Other comments about the food quality…
• Very nice
• Reasonably priced and great quality - lots of choice
• Great
• Good. Lovely ladies (helpful & cheerful) behind the counter
“Overall the food was fine, we got there a bit
late but the kids still got a cake etc.”
There seemed to be a lot of dithering at the end when it came to
the raffles, which meant unnecessary
waiting
We loved it as it was. More help for Paula to help with all the behind the scenes bits would
be good.
The area where the tombola was became congested as the queues
were long. Would have been good if the chocolate & bottle tombola
were in separate areas
Further in advance send details out on how someone
could rent a stall - also children's games could do
with being cheaper
Santa's Grotto
What could be improved…
More activities for children and more
of a festive appearance
Maybe start with the raffles a bit
earlier as they took quite a while
Maybe next time some more choice of hot food - soup or
hot dogs etc? Maybe for some things time slots could be allocated e.g. there was a big queue for face painting.
Christmas carols being sung and donations to be made.
Santa's Grotto? Wine tasting? Chocolate tasting?
Wine & cheese?
What could be improved…
Craft based activities, biscuit making,
painting etc.
They loved the 'Secret Santa' room
(is that what it is called?)
Secret Santa - brilliant idea and value for
money
What the kids enjoyed most…
The secret wrapping
room
Definitely the present room, they loved the fact that they could choose a present for us on their own. They
kept them hidden until Christmas Day when they proudly presented them to us. Both my husband and I
were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the present - a mug and a make up bag, both are being used
Lucky dip, lucky cracker &
Christmas room
Skill games, lucky dip, cups - winning a prize every time (splat the rat etc.)
Children's games
What the kids enjoyed most…
"being outside" was their response
- nothing was outside!
Lucky dip
The chocolate and lucky dip
prizes. Enjoyed winning 1st prize
in the raffle
The games Winning prizes
Friends of Potten End School
What are/should be the goals… • Raising funds for extra school materials &
equipment • Only know about the Friends of Potten End via
the golf day letter • A voice for parents and bringing people of the
school together. Raising money to purchase items the school requires for learning /facility improvements
• They are trying to raise money for equipment and materials for the children that do not come under the school budget. The added extras that make the school such a great place
What are/should be the goals… • Raise money for the school • Raise money for important stuff for the school • To raise funds for all the areas of the school • A 'friends' newsletter with targets & suggestion
requests would be beneficial • Raising money to support the school • Raise money to fund equipment for school.
Bring parents and kids together socially • To help with funds / resources at the school.
Keep parents involved and have varied activities for the children
Friends of Potten End School
Generally what activities would you like to see organised… • Something outdoors (if possible) that allowed for some degree of team based physical activity • Pamper evening x 2 • Treasure hunt, bake off cake sale, race night, Boden party • Sport based activities • Sponsored events which bring in larger sums rather than lots of little things which we have to
remember • Family fun day/themed party - disco / live band night / social event • The family discos have been a great success, another would be super • Family fun day, family walk through Ashridge. Adult led treasure hunt (in cars?) drive around stopping
off for clues
