BeginningtheweekofMay9,allstudentsingrades311willbetakingtheEnd

ofYearScantronBaselineassessmentsintheareasofReadingandMath.

StudentsingradesK2willbetakingtheirinclassendofyearassessmentsthat

coversreading,writingandmath.

AccordingtoHTApolicyapprovedbytheLSBonMay24,2010,studentswillbe

placednomorethantwogradelevelsaboveorbelowtheiractualgradelevel.

Testresultswilldeterminestudentsreadinesstobepromotedtothenextgrade

levelcurriculum.Reenrollmenteligibilityisdeterminedbaseduponwhether

yourchilddemonstratestheabilitytoperformwithintwogradelevelsofhis/her

actualgradelevel.Forexample,ifyourchildisinthe5thgradeandcurrently

progressingthroughthe3rdgradecurriculum,he/shemustshowreadinessfor

the4thgradecurriculumasanincoming6thgraderinordertobereenrolled.

InconjunctionwithScantronresults,theminimumrequirementregarding

curriculumtobepromotedtothenextgradelevelis85%completioninallsubjectareasbyMay20.However,inordertoprogresstothenextgradelevels

curriculum,theadditional15%mustbecompletedbeforethestartofnextschool

yearoryourchildwillstayoncurrentlevelcurriculumuntilcompleted.

ThepurposeofthispolicyistoensurethesuccessofallHTAstudents.Giventhe

natureofouruniquehybridmodel,studentsmustdemonstrateacertainlevelof

independenceandabilitytofunctionappropriatelyinaclassroomwithgrade

appropriatepeers.

Assessmentresultsandreenrollmenteligibilitywillbesharedduringfinalfaceto

faceconferencesheldtheweekofMay2327.
