The Indian Film Festival Stuttgart attracts many enthusia-stic fans to the capitol of Baden-Württemberg every year. The focus is on the versatile fi lm production of the world‘s largest fi lm industry. During the programme selection pro-cess, we place special emphasis on the diversity of langua-ges, traditions and regional diff erences.
As part of the 16th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart, we are in-troducing a new programme series called ,Making of Indian Cinema‘. The programme series targets professional and industry audiences by providing a look behind the scenes of Indian cinema. Every year, the programme will present a diff erent area of fi lm production.
This year, we address the visual style of Indian cinema and the history of its cinematography. The art of creating iconic images will be discussed, as well as the visual portrayal of character traits. Additionally, the event focuses on the wor-king conditions of Indian directors of photography (DoPs), especially women, and the cooperation possibilities bet-ween Indian and German fi lmmakers.
With this new programme series we want to strengthen the awareness for the art of Indian fi lm, off er a networking platform for fi lmmakers and consequently improve the connections between the fi lm industries in India and Ger-many. The event is supported by the Consulate General of India in Munich.
