Yet amid the public remembrance, we also recall a private lesson: to live each day fully with those we love. With that in mind, here are the weekend’s best bets. New York Remembers  All weekend Ithaca is one of 30 cities across the state hosting a special commemorative display entitled "New York Remembers," honoring the 10th anniversary of September 11. The exhibition features artifacts from the collections of the State Museum and the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. A special commemoration reception is scheduled 10am, Sunday. The display is located on the first floor of the Rothschild Building, 215 the Commons, hours: 9am-5pm. The weekend kicks off with a keynote presentation from one of Serling’s top students, director Bill D’Elia whose credits  include Boston Legal, GLEE, Grey’s Anatomy, Northern Exposure, The West Wing, Ally McBeal, Law and Order and more. Free, 8pm at IC’s Park Auditorium.  http://www.ithaca.edu/rhp/serling/ Indie at the State, Jazz on the Hill Fri Nice variety of music, Friday night. Okkervil River and New Villager share the stage for a night of indie bliss at the State Theatre. Two big bands, one great night. 8pm. Tickets $22.50.
