TENNESSEE INSTRUCTOR BIOS Ken Foo Instructing Classes: F1, S1 Ken Foo, a second generation locksmith from Honolulu, Hawaii, started in the industry at the age of 10. A fascination with safes that his Dad brought home to repair, (mostly GSA) was his playground. Fast forward to going to college on the Mainland, he worked for a California restaurant chain as a cook. Long hours and low pay motivated him to make a change of career and return to something he was familiar with, Locksmithing. Moving to Houston to work for Johnny Musovich at Red’s Safe and Lock, in Pasadena Texas, as a shop locksmith honed his skills and attracted the attention of Diebold Inc. After Johnny retired, he was offered a job as a senior service technician at Diebold. Within 4 years he was the Houston chief service tech and left in 1984 to start K&S Security Products, Inc. and became a major player in the bank equipment service sector for the next 30 years. A nationally recognized Tier One SafeTech he travels throughout the Southwestern United States opening bank vaults and high security safes as well as teaching bank equipment service classes to other companies and trade organizations around the country. An active member of SAVTA (lifetime), ALOA( certified ALOA Ace instructor) and TLA, he still teaches at SAVTA/ALOA conventions and independent trade shows year round. In Texas, he is a registered CEU instructor and owns a Texas DPS PSB CEU Locksmith school in Houston. Chris Law Instructing Classes: F2, S2 Chris Law’s early fascination with all things electronic, mechanical, and automotive has led them to a twenty-five year career in various industries, gaining extensive training and experience. In 2012, Chris was honored with the title of Best Locksmith in Carson City and Northern Nevada. Chris began working with Mr. Li, the inventor of the Original LISHI tools, several years ago and now has a well working relationship exchanging ideas, improving and developing tools, and planning for future tools. Chris is proud to represent him and his Original LISHI tools, and he hopes to continue assisting with the development and demonstration of these unique and fascinating tools to assist locksmiths all over the country. Harry Sher Instructing Classes: F3, S3 Harry Sher is a Certified Master Locksmith, a Certified Professional Safe Technician, a Certified GSA Container and Vault Technician, and Inspector and a Certified Fire Door Inspector. He has been a locksmith since the 1950’s. He is an active member of the Associated Locksmiths of America, The Safe and Vault Technicians Association, and the International Association of Investigative Locksmiths and numerous local associations. He is former ALOA Board member, Past President of both the Ozark Professional Locksmith Association and the Missouri-Kansas Locksmith Association, and Past Vice President of the Oklahoma Master Locksmith Association. Harry has over 37 years of Federal Service. Stacy Hetchler Instructing Classes: F4, S4 Stacy has been working as an automotive locksmith for about 26 years and began getting into the EEPROM side of it about 10 years ago. Stacy travels and teaches classes occasionally. He is the current President for the Texas Locksmith Association. Stacy’s hobbies are flying helicopters, playing soccer, and enjoying time with his family. “Without the support of my wife and family none of this would be possible.” - Stacy Hetchler Ed Woods Instructing Classes: F5, S5 Ed Woods, CML, CPS, CAL of Keys Made Rite, is an automotive Locksmithing specialist with more then 25 years working in the locksmith industry. Ed is also an expert safe technician. Ed is a consultant to many manufacturers of automotive Locksmithing related tools and equipment and is a Certified Instructor for the Associated Locksmiths of America. Ed is a three time recipient of the ALOA Instructor of the Year award. Andy Phelps Instructing Classes: F6, S6, S7 Andy Phelps has been a locksmith in TN for 23 years starting in Martin, TN as a single man mobile shop. He moved to Nashville, TN in 2004 where, as a member of ALOA, he passed the PRP and received the designation of CRL. In Nashville he broadened his business to include automotive transponder key generation as well as commercial and residential locksmithing. In 2010, he saw a need for continuing education courses and started the Locksmith Academy of Nashville after the State of TN licensed locksmiths. He offered classes ranging from interchangeable core servicing to automotive key generation and transponders. Also in July 2010, Andy became the shop manager at a locksmith shop in Nashville. He managed up to 5 technicians in the field. In February 2014, he left to reopen his mobile shop. In September 2014, he became the National Training Manager for Alarm Lock continuing his passion for teaching. Guy Robinson Instructing Classes: F7, S8, S9 “I have spent most of my life in the lock, door, access control, and alarm profession. Starting at the age of 15 in 1977, at a locksmith shop in New Orleans, I developed an apptitude and liking for the security industry. In 1985 I took a break from locksmithing and entered the U. S. Army as a light-infantryman. Serving four years in Georgia, California and Hawaii. I returned to go back into the profession I loved to develop a deeper understanding and desire to be the best I could be. In 2004 I left the retail arena and moved to Los Angeles, CA to work for Intermountain Lock and Security Supply. In 2006 I joined ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions. From 2006 to the end of 2016 I held different positions with ASSA ABLOY, DSS in south Texas and Louisiana: Architectural Rep, Healthcare and K-12 Rep, and Medeco/Arrow Business Development Representative. In 2015 I was offered the opportunity to open and start a state-of- the art training facility in Ontario, California. Currently I am developing and teaching classes on all aspect of the security of an opening. I have a B. S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and and currently in the last year of earning my Master’s degree in Communication at Cal-State University in San Bernardino, CA” - Guy Robinson Roger Schmidt Instructing Classes: F8, F9, S10 Roger educates new and seasoned professionals in all elements of access control, including hands-on, site survey, and code classes, as well as instruction on appropriate door scenarios and installation for Securitron products. He recently launched a new educational course, Maglocks: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, which addresses some of the misconceptions and historic confusion in codes and compliance around maglocks, why they are no longer valid, and how to take action to dispel those myths. Jeff Baker Instructing Classes: F10 Jeff Baker has been with Strattec for 20 years and today serves as their North American Distributor Sales Manager. Sean Preuss Instructing Classes: F11 Sean Preuss has been a locksmith for approximately 17 years specializing in automotive for the last 10 years. He has been a Just Cars instructor for the last 6 years. He has extensive automotive knowledge ranging from beginner to advanced locksmith. A few of his areas of expertise include basic and high security key generations, OBD transponder programming, EEPROM programing, high security, basic lock, ignition removal and repairs.

INSTRUCTOR BIOSDan Floeck Instructing Classes: S11Dan has managed retail businesses since 1974. In 1988 He began managing H L Flake and has been there ever since.  In the past, he owned a small chain of bicycle shops with stores that averaged over 3000 sq ft of space. His business was a top 5% performer in sales volume when compared to others in the industry. When many other shops struggled to sell 1000 bicycles annually, one of Dan’s stores sold 990 bicycles in a two month period. Dan also served as Store Manager and as Senior Manager over eighteen stores of a 72 store Hi-Lo Auto Parts chain.  He eventually moved up to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing stores that stretched from Metairie, Louisiana to Laredo, Texas. The stores averaged 9,000 sq ft in size with over 1500 feet of merchandising in front of the counter.  Inventory was difficult while tracking 30,000 different items without the use of a computer.  These stores had some of the highest gross sales in the Texas / Louisiana region, with annual sales over 70 million dollars.  He left Hi-Lo Auto Parts in 1988 to purchase H L Flake Company.  He credits his success today to the lessons learned behind the sales counter many years ago.

Tony Presidio Instructing Classes: S12Tony Presidio has over 15 years of industry experience involving positions within distribution and manufacturing. He has been with KABA since 2007 and he is the Advanced Diagnostics Director of Sales and Distribution throughout all of the United States and Canada. Before that he was with a distributor’s automotive locksmithing division and was recognized for outstanding territory sales. Tony also established and conducted the first of two training vehicles for AD USA.

Marty Jalove Instructing Classes: F12Marty is a specialist in the planning and follow through of innovative and integrated marketing plans including market analyses, goal and budget determination, action plan development, support materials and program creation, online and direct marketing strategy design and plan evaluation. Marty has also been with HPC and Hudson Lock since 1999.

Scott Peck Instructing Classes: F13Scott Peck has been in the automatic door manufacturing business for 20+ years. He is experienced in assembly, technical support, design, sales, installation and servicing of low energy automatic swing door operators. Scott is employed by Detex Corporation as a Sales Engineer and duties include product development, demonstration and training.

Steve Goldstein Instructing Classes: F14Steve has owned and managed a commercial locksmith company in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1972 through May 2004 when he sold that company to concentrate on is passion for developing new tools and products for the security industry. When Steve founded GKL in 2000, he ent on to invent and develop many security tools and products including the “Hinge Doctor” and storefront door modification parts/kits.

Tom Tusing Instructing Classes: F15Tom Tusing started his locksmith career in 1984. Seeing a need in the automotive side of the industry he opened The Car Openers, Inc. and specialized in just doing automobiles. He has been making keys for cars now for over 34 years. During this time as car locks became more intricate he developed THE DETERMINATOR TOOL for decoding. The Determinator Tool has been an asset for the locksmith industry now for 20 years. Tom also created a HIGH SECURITY KEY ORIGINATION MANUAL with over 500 pages of steps needed in making laser type keys. In 2015 with Greg Chambers and a few others THE DIAGNOSTIC BOX USA was created.

Wayne Winton Instructing Classes: S14, S15Wayne Winton is the owner of Tri-County Locksmith Services in the Carbondale, Aspen, Glenwood Spring area of Colorado. Wayne has documented much of his work with video to create a prolific library of instructional video related to locksmith work that can be found on his website wayneslockshop.com. While documenting his work in video, Wayne is also a writer of many locksmith trade related articles in multiple industry magazines. Wayne is also the founder and main admin for the Locksmith Nation Facebook Groups.

Mike Leeper Instructing Classes: S16Mike started his career as a locksmith in 1990 in New Orleans, LA. In 1993, he went to work for Diebold and was soon the lead Vault technician for the local Diebold office. Leaving Diebold in 1997, he started his own business and continued to do all facets of the trade until selling his business in 2013. He stayed on with the new owners until coming to work for HL Flake in 2015.
