Hello Elm Class,

I am amazed at all the work some of you are sending in! I hope you’ve all been enjoying the new topic about being active.

The weather is meant to be nice and sunny next week and, as we’ve not had Sports Day this year, we are setting you a virtual Sports Day challenge. Make sure you check out the information on the website and enter your scores online! Which house will win the trophy this year?

Update on my sunflowers: My sunflowers have been growing nice and tall since the last update. The tallest is 127cm. Is it taller than you? Though I bet all of you have grown a lot since April!

Spelling Shed and Maths Shed have set up a new game. You can now challenge your friends and see who wins!

Keep doing all the amazing work at home and keep sending photos in; I love seeing them all. There are only 2 weeks left until the summer holidays.

Missing you all loads! Keep well and stay safe.

Miss George

Hi Ash Class,

I hope you are all ok and still getting along well with your work. What do you think of our new topic work on active lifestyles? Slightly different from learning about a country, but still fun and interesting. In Yellow ‘bubble’ we found some really amazing facts about famous athletes and then we had to see if you could name as many as we could. Can you answer these questions? 1. How many football players are

there in a team?

2. What does the phrase ‘birdie’ mean in golf?

3. When was the last Olympic games and where was it held?

4. What do the five Olympic rings represent?

5. Who holds the world record for the fastest 100m sprint?

I’ll provide you with the answers in next week's bulletin.

Remember to keep sending in pictures of your lovely work; they always make me smile and I am very proud of you all.

Keep it up, you are all superstars!

Miss Davies

Hi Oak Class,

Well it’s good news all round this week: I’m thrilled to be able to see some more Year 6s next week and the government have announced their plans this week for the Year 5s (and everyone else!) to return in September.

I hope you’ve all had a good week learning about sport. I’ve been amazed by all your fantastic work this half term including the work on Japan and Australia. My link to Australia is that my grandma was born and raised in Australia. During the Second World War she worked in a hospital in Melbourne looking after the British and Australian soldiers. This is where she met my grandfather and they were later married in the hospital. It was broadcast on the local radio station and, apparently, they were the first couple in Australia to be married live on the radio!

Next week we’ve organised some virtual fun games you can take part in and send us your results so we can still have a Sports Day – just virtually! Check out the website on Monday for more details and how to send us back your results.

Take care and look after yourselves Oak Class. I’m so glad things are starting to look more positive for us all.

Remember BBC Bitesize have their daily lessons on the ‘Red Button’ on the TV. This may help if you have more than one child at home who needs to access a laptop or iPad.

Please do not hesitate to contact us here at school if you need any more help or advice with regard to work for Home Learning.

Dear Sapling and Fir Class,

Here we are at the end of another week. I hope you have enjoyed finding out about the Olympics and famous sports stars. In school, we have watched some videos of past Olympics and the stars that competed. The children in Red Bubble especially liked watching Usain Bolt winning his gold medals and seeing him stand in the ‘Lightning Bolt’ pose. We also decided that Jamie from Cosmic Kids was a brilliant sports personality who is important to us.

The children have created obstacle courses to complete and have thought about different designs to change which parts of their body they exercise. We have been outside as much as we can.

Thank you for continuing to send in examples of the home learning that you are doing. Lots of you are doing beyond what we set you to do. Thank you for working so hard.

Next week, I look forward to seeing the results for the Virtual House Sports Day. I am not biased in the slightest but…

COME ON YOU GREEN BUZZARDS! As we get closer to the end of term and some restrictions are being lifted, I hope you enjoy being able to see each other a little bit more and get to carry on having fun with your families.

Stay safe

Miss Garbett
