• A classroom management system.• Teachers use it to communicate with students,
post resources, give quizzes and tests, etc… • Students can use it to communicate with
teachers and students, stay organized, find missing work

EdEase Parent Access
• Parents and students must create an account to have access to the grade program (see administrative assistants: Nina Lindauer & Cathy Hoover)
• Use to check grades, attendance, discipline, standardized tests, & email teachers.
• Please use with moderation…teachers do not update grades everyday. We recommend
checking once a week.

Attendance
• Extremely important, especially on block scheduling.
• Students have 6 minute passing periods. Students have a sufficient amount of time during passing periods to get from point A to point B so they should not be receiving tardy
marks.
Block Scheduling
• Students will meet every other day with their classes. Green days are 1st, 3rd, 5th & 7th periods. White days are 2nd, 4th, 6th, & 8th periods
• Advisory Period-3rd period every other day. Students can use this period to get help from teachers, meet with tutors, use as a study hall. Very important that students use this time wisely!
• Organization is key on block scheduling!

• Valuable resource, but students need to learn self control and digital citizenship.
• Saving documents-important to save to multiple locations (H drive, flash drive, Dropbox, Google docs, etc…)

Dress Code
• This is an EVSC policy. All high schools have agreed to adopt the dress code policy.
• Shirts: any solid color, stripes, or plaids. Must have a collar, logo must be smaller than 3”
• Pants/Shorts: uniform, dress, or cargo– Colors: navy, black, tan, brown, khaki
• Footwear: no flip flops» See handout for detailed list
Future SLC placement
• Freshman will take a variety of surveys and interest inventories during their Freshman year to determine their placement in the Smaller Learning Communities (SLC)
• Students need to take these seriously and answer questions honestly to ensure proper placement.
• Parents and students will receive more SLC information throughout the
year.
