Frequency Counter
Frequency counter is an electronic instrument, that is used for
measuring frequency of an input signal. Frequency counters are
commonly used in laboratories, factories, and field environments to
provide direct frequency measurements of various devices.
Frequency Counter
In the early 1950s, the frequency counter was developed. The
device could measure and accurately indicate frequencies up to 10
MHz. Present-day frequency counters can accurately read frequencies
as high as 40 GHz. In addition to direct frequency measurement
indication, some types of frequency counters can measure the WAVE
PERIOD; RATIO; and TIME INTERVAL.

Features : The 5315A Universal Frequency Counter is an unique frecuency counter with 3 channel input. Exceptional resolution at both low and high frequenciesFrequency range 0,1 Hz - 100 MHz for A and B input channels, Optional 1 GHz for input channel C.Flexible Signal Conditioning. 8-digits resolution display. Selectable gate time from 60 ms to 10 s. Choose AC or DC coupling. Sensitivity control (variable attenuator)Both channels have trigger level controls with easy setting.

Ooh..., of course!!!
How to Use Frequency Counter
First Step
• Connect oscillator to frequency counter using the BNC cable
oscillator
• Turn oscillator and frequency counter power on
Second Step
Third Step
• Select a pure, unmodulated waveform from the oscillator: sine, triangle, or pulse.
Fourth Step
• Set the oscillator's amplitude (output level) about halfway. Set its frequency to about 1000 Hz.
Fifth Step
• Set the frequency counter to the lowest frequency range. Set its gate to one per second. If it has a frequency/period mode, set it to frequency.
Sixth Step
• If the frequency counter has a "Hold" button, press it. The display should hold the same count. Press "Hold" again to resume normal operation.
Seventh Step
• If you want to get new frequency from Oscillator, change the oscillator frequency. The counter should show the new frequency momentarily.
Eighth Step
• Change the "Gate" setting. The display should update less often but with higher resolution.
conclusion
A frequency counter is one of the easiest to use. Their main purpose, measuring frequency, is done by setting a few front panel switches.
Tips
For best performance, give the frequency counter a few minutes of power-on time to stabilize before
use.
