It combines the traditional French curriculum with the British curriculum. High-level Language- Literature and History- Geography classes are added to all regular subjects from the French curriculum. It offers a British pedagogical approach to literature and history geography. It is a challenging stream requiring academic ability and as well as motivation and commitment from students and families. At the end of the final year, OIB Students take extra examinations in Literature and History / Geography, examined in English. Many go to anglophone universities. THE SCHOOL The LFID is a state school, founded in 1977 as the French School Colette. It became the French International School Marguerite Duras in 2010. Today in 2021, the school has 1210 students, all taught on the new Long Binh campus. The school offers a French Stream and a British International Section, all under the supervision of a whole-school Headmaster. The LFID has strong academic standards an employs highly qualified teachers and staff. The LFID is linked by convention to the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), a national administrative body. This convention guarantees that the French curriculum is taught according to the French Ministry of Education guidelines, and is an official exam center for the French national examinations (Brevet and Baccalaureate). THE FRENCH STREAM The French Stream follows the programme of the French ministry of Education. The secondary school prepares the students for the DNB in 3e (Diplôme National du Brevet), and the French Baccalaureate in Terminale. The school offers many foreign languages: English, Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese. Students can also choose from a wide choice of options: Arts, Music, Latin and Drama.
