FREIGHT RATE CALCULATION
1) LCL cargo calculation Freight rate is calculated base on given dimension and weight
To compare the weight and dimension, whichever takes the higher
Volume, freight rate is calculated from it.
Example calculation : 1 wooden pallet (2,500 kgs/LxWxH 3.0x1.0x2.5cms)
Freight rate : USD 25/w-m
= 2,500 kgs AND by multiplying the LxWxH is equal to 7.5 cbm
(in comparison of weight and dimension whichever is higher for every
1 ton and 1 cbm
= dimension takes a higher than the weight
= freight rate is charged to the dimension of 7.5 cbm x USD 25/w-m =USD 187.50
FCL rate calculation
By simply multiplying the quantity of container to the freight rate and its surcharges
Example calculation : 5 x 20’ STD container
Freight rate : USD 750/20’ STD container
= USD 750 x 5 containers = USD 3,750 for total 5 units of container
Both calculation has to include the local charges either origin or destination
depends On the obligation of buyer and seller and on the term of sale. Various charges. Are
specified the calculation either by weight or measurement by unit of container.
